"Hello!" she greeted cheerfully. "I'm sorry if I'm bothering, but do you mind if I stay over? It's really cold out and I've nowhere to go."

As Max walked to the girl's house, a pang of guilt hit her. She shouldn't have been that rude, even if he had deserved it. Max made a quick mental note to apologize and get Tobias a gift before knocking on Alyssa's door.

Max greeted them all with a grin and wave. She glared daggers at Tobias. "Be polite! I mean, it's bad enough they're stuck with you." She bit her lip to keep from saying an 'I'm sorry', but cast him an apologetic look. "Now, I'm going to go check on Alyssa. I hope she's nice enough to let me stay at her house for a bit."

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hit you!" Max apologized. She smiled and shook Robin's hand. "Hi, I'm Max."

She.glanced at Tobias and giggled. "Um...is this Moonhill?"

Max took a deep breath. So, so peacef-

"AAAAAAH!"

...Never mind. Max screamed as people...animal...things jumped out. She swung her bag at the nearest one. Her eyes were wide with surprise.

Max grabbed her bag and exited the train and looked around. Everything looked so...peaceful. She shivered lightly in the cool night and rocked on her heels. She just didn't know where to begin. Heck, she didn't even have a place to stay! Guess I should have planned this out more thoroughly, she thought regretfully.

"Don't be mean," Max scolded. She crossed her arms, trying (and failing) to look mad. She soon dropped her attempt and glanced out the window. "I wonder how far the town is?"

She smiled at Alyssa. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Max," she greeted.

Her eyes widened when River spat on Tobias. Max couldn't decide whether to start laughing or scold Rover. "Let's all calm down," she said, trying to stifle a giggle.
