The sharp, clear ringing of bells echoed throughout the entire manor. While small and seemingly insignificant, the set of bells that hung from the dining room door way gave such a surprisingly loud sound. It reverberated through every room, interrupting conversations and drawing the attention of those far away. It was time for dinner.
Kessa stood by the set of double doors, one hand resting on the doorknob and the other holding an ancient looking key. As she began unlocking the door, an odd sense of dread seemed to fill the entirety of the estate. A feeling so uncomfortable and so unnerving, it was as if the feeling of being watched was growing.
Kessa took a deep breath, trying to hide her nervousness. She swung the doors open to reveal...
...a grand, and beautiful dining room. A long table decorated with a red and white tablecloth sat in the middle. Countless of chairs surrounded it, each looking more comfortable than the next. A feast was laid out on the table. Geese, turkey, ham, corn, mashed potatoes, pies, and other delicacies were waiting to be feasted upon. It was truly a feast fit for a king
Kessa took a deep breath and stepped away from the doorway, mentally scolding herself for being ridiculously paranoid. Yet...the feeling of dread and uncertainty lingered in the air like a creature stalking its prey.
