Oh, so rather than the different colors for each room, each district of the city is a color? I expect an epic finale in the black district.

Oh, yes. B)
The Black District would be the one place where it's abandoned as it is the area where the sick are 'quarantined' and where most sightings of the Red Mask are.
I'm excited for this! :D

Appearance:
Name: Vince Rike

Age: 28

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 103.4 lbs

Occupation: Homeless, Robber

Personality: He's a pretty nice guy, but he'll do anything to get a decent meal or shelter if he's desperate enough. He's very analytical and can take things way too seriously, but he'll crack a joke or two if he's in one if his rare good moods. He'll do anything to protect what few friends he has.

Bio: Life was good. Vince had everything he could ask for. A wonderful job, a beautiful wife, and he was expecting a baby boy. But things began to turn for the worse.

Vince was returning home from work when his phone suddenly rang. He answered with a nonchalant, "Hello?"

"Vince? It's your brother, Greg. You need to come to the hospital. Now. Your wife is going into labor!" came the worried voice.

Vince paled and swore under his breath. "Don't worry! I'll be there soon!"

He drove hurriedly to the hospital. When he burst through the doors of the waiting room, he was met with grim faces.

"My wife...is she okay? What about the baby?" he asked nervously.

Greg stood and slowly walked over. "...I'm sorry. The doctors did their best. Something went terribly wrong..."

Vince paled. "Please...don't tell me..."

"I'm sorry, but both of them didn't survive."

Things went completely downhill after that. Vince lost his job and house, Greg and his father had gotten into a car accident and died, and his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Everything fell apart in the following years so quickly.

Vince now roams the city, staying temporarily in whatever shelter he can find and trying desperately to survive.

Other: He's wanted by the police

Sounds interesting. So how would the role-playing work? In other words, what is the role of we, the players and our characters? I suggest that you spend a bit of time fleshing out the city itself, perhaps explain it's social classes etc. What genre would you place this? Is it action? Drama? Drama and Suspense? Will it play out as a bit of a crime thriller? The concepts interesting; I just don't know what to expect from it.

I was thinking that the basis of the RP would be to try and survive in the city and uncover who's behind the red mask.

There would be a central leader controlling most of the city with the Army Commander (who controls the guards), Head of Health (who try and fail to find a cure as well as uncover who is sick), and an Agricultural and Ranching Expert (controls the production of food).
The sections of the city would be sorted by color and social status. (ie. The Green section being inhabited by the rich and the yellow being inhabited by the poor.

The genre would definitely be drama, suspense, mystery, and a bit of horror.

I don't know what to expect from it either. ^^; Whatever the result, it's sure to be interesting.

Oh snap. I didn't realize how excited I'd actually be for something based off The Red Masque of Death until you made it. I'm in. Judging from the story itself, simuseb, I think it'd be a feudal society. RC Master might have another thing going though, so I dunno.

Hooray! :D
Interestingly interested!
Yes, I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one.
The Masque of Red Death

The world is ridden with an incurable disease. A disease that causes it's victims skin to rot, their eyes to go blind, their spit to be filled with blood, and pain to rack every nerve in their body until death. No one is immune. There is no cure.

There is, however, a haven. Surrounded by high walls is the heavily protected city of Salute. For more than a hundred years it has kept it's inhabitants safe from the disease. Any sign of sickness is quickly gotten rid if by quickly killing the victim and burning the body. This city is the only place where there is peace...

...until now.

The leader of Salute, Marcus Lamouth, has been found dead in his mansion. The cause of death? Sickness.

Not only that, but more and more people in the city are getting sick. Supplies are dwindling. Panic is setting in.

And a figure with a red mask seems to be the one behind it all.
An RP idea based around the short story by Edgar Allan Poe.

Any suggestions and/or tips? :)

I'm waiting to be sure everyone has replied before I reply again :3 I thought it'd be best to keep a slight order, so no one is left behind, ya know?Meanwhile, how is everyone?

That's pretty smart! ^^

I'm good. I just got new books, so I know what I'm doing all night!
What about you?
Sup! I'm RC or Ivan. Either name is fine.

First off, your name is awesome. XD

Second, I think you'll enjoy RPing! The community here is really friendly.

Welp, I guess that's it. PM me if you ever wanna chat and I hope to RP with you in the near future.
The Town of Lermas

Deep in the kidney if Texas lies the quiet smalltown of Lermas.
It's just like every other normal town.
It has street signs, a mayor, a school, and a floating sphere in the center of the park that buzzes when you get close to it and kidnaps people in the dead of night.
It's very normal indeed.

Don't believe me? Just ask the friendly population of 1,278.58 people, 325 pets, and 8,345,678 unmentionables hiding in the trunk of your car. 97.89% will say it's normal.

The others think that it's not.

They believe that eyes that watch you in your attic, a deaf man that eavesdrops on conversations, and having a pet talking ostrich is completely un-normal.

They're wrong.

Our town is completely normal like other towns.
Yes, or town is very normal...

An idea inspired by things like The Twilight Zone, Gravity Falls, Welcome to Nightvale, and other things I can't remember.
Any ideas? Suggestions? Tips? :) I really have no clue where this will lead.
"Maldición..." Shaun murmured as he gazed around the hotel. "This place is beautiful."

He was nervous, yes, but who wouldn't be? It was their first job after all! And in such a place with history...

A pang of nostalgia hit Shaun. The place had almost the same air to it as his father's museum; like it had a million stories to tell of what it had seen the past hundred or so years, but it was always up to it's occupants to unfold them. The only difference was that this place was much more grand, much more exciting, and possibly haunted of course.

He gave a grateful nod to Karen (whom he was tempted to call Grandma for her kind and old fashioned nature) before walking to Molly's side. He had a million questions buzzing around his mind, but the one that popped out his mouth was, "Are you nervous?"
I'll join. It's been a while since I've done sci-fi, and it feels good to start again!
