Picture Lucid actually as a failed Nanomachine that appears like an opaque liquid but is actually inferior nanomachines that attach themselves to neural receptors and "enhance" things around but eventually break down into a toxic combination that slowly eats away at the bodies system. This would explain the Euphoric feeling and enhanced senses as well as the body degeneration. Effectively doing the opposite of what its supposed to do
Just had the greatest idea of having Emma ...er... Rin be the accidental inventor of Lucid :) makes sense since her dads a successful drug dealer....
Lol ironically she's originally related to a recently deceased Mr. Stone in which I thought it was funny that Emma stone was the perfect pic. The Name Rin Emris Stone was a name I used on characters way before lol

All these things can be easily looked up in any current event blog. That being said, Rin also deals with an obcessive compulsive disorder, insomnia and adopted a Martyr like personality. She single handedly created the first "re-programmable" and reproducing nanomachine by using her very own body as a test tube. This was necessary due to being diagnosed with type three cancer. The doctors gave her an estimate of six months, four years ago. The nanomachine constantly fight the everchanging biological structure with the help of her consistant research and upkeep of the cancer but lately, those original nanomachines have been slowing down in its reproduction rate. If she can't figure out the reason soon, it will be too late.
