Background
Born January 31, 1948, Marcus grew up in a very anticommunist setting, and enlisted to serve in the Vietnam War the day he turned seventeen. He was part of the first wave of ground forces sent into Vietnam in March of 1965. While in Vietnam, he served alongside a man by the name of Robert Leandros, an exceedingly wealthy man from Georgia. Though the two initially did not get along, they soon became like brothers, and the duo served side by side up until the end of the war in 1975. During the war, Robert was, sadly, exposed to Agent Orange, and after they returned to America, he continued to suffer the side effects. Robert offered Marcus a place as his butler back at his estate, and Marcus accepted it. Marcus soon grew accustomed to the life, and considered those at the estate like family to him.

Artume is the Etruscan Vampire of the night, the moon, death, nature, woods, and fertility. When the Etruscans were absorbed by the Roman Empire in the late 4th Century B.C., those that had once worshiped her were gone. She, along with the other Etruscan gods and goddesses, were forgotten about, and assumed they would never be remembered by mankind. Then, in the year 1033 A.D., something happened that she never expected. A man had prayed to her. The man was a thief by trade, and led a guild of thirty. He asked her to grant him the ability to control shadows, and become one of the greatest thieves in history. Artume granted his request, and told him that should any of his guild worship her as he does, they would be given powers as well. Soon, the entire guild worshiped her, and she enjoyed the feeling of having worshipers.
