Daniel Striden - God of Honor and Loyalty

Caspian looked back and saw the new guy walk into his warehouse, he decide if there was anyone sane in there group, he hoped this guy would be," Hi, the names Caspian, nice to meet you". Caspian walled up to him and held his hand out.

Finally, someone sensible. "Greetings, call me Dan. Is this your place?" He looked around the shop, thinking to himself. "I never was much into weapons, but I know a bit about boxing. Got any suggestions?" It hadn't been much though, just a sport to stay in shape while he had still been in school. Combat had never seemed all that important, just staying healthy for the sake of it. "Oh yeah, and not sure if you noticed or not, but another girl joined the party back there. Red head, cute, and a penchant for putting out arguments."
You guys can post now >_>
Tentative interest
I'll take the bait.
Daniel Striden - God of Honor and Loyalty

So violent. The young woman who entered seemed about his age or younger- possibly younger. And... seemed capable of handling it. The only action to take was the most manly, wise approach possible.

"Well, I'm going to just go... yeah..."
Daniel raised both his hands in surrender and backed away from both of the men- and out of range of the fire extinguisher as well. "See? I'm cool-" Operation Flee: Success
He strode deeper into the warehouse through the door the other man had passed through. Daniel didn't particularly want to get involved with the violent types. Planning and diplomacy were more his style.
Your point is valid, but I don't think there was much chance of either person hitting the other anyway. If you two had really wanted to go at it, there were few ways it could end- and none of them all that good for the RP. In an arena, I would have expected much more detail from both of you- (Again though, its why I stick with things I know for weapons, namely longswords, recurve bows, and gauntlets.)

Anyway, its pretty much over. And I am left with the question... is that snakes bite possibly addictive in small doses? Could it be sold? O_O how many laws would selling it break

I would prefer no fighting. But I know it will happen. It would be very hard to do the things you have done. You cant POP from one spot to another. It is NEAR impossible to avoid a blade. HOWEVER this fight is done.

Not to contradict anyone, afterall a Katana is entirely different from a longsword. (Though neither is all that slow, the katana is still slightly faster-) But I have experience with longsword combat. (And yes, I have matched up longsword to katana before- and the katana IS slightly faster) BUT, getting to the point, it is entirely possible to dodge a strike. The hard part would be to dodge the follow-up strike. (Which wasn't made in this case.) The human body is much faster than you think, I have videos where we exchanged three hard blows each in less than a second, and all were blocked but the last one. (Who was the victor of course.)

Also not meaning to give a real lesson, just rolling it out there for consideration. I love melee weapon combat in RP's (and prefer it), but I tend to stay away from melee weapons that do not fit into the 'two handed straight sword' category. It can be complex to RP a weapon you don't know, but at the same time, when you DO know a weapon, it can be addictively fun to RP. Its the difference between simply swinging a sword and describing complex maneuvers that you know are possible simply because you have done them. This can be emulated a bit by researching reliable sources and watching authentic videos though.

Anyway, I know there has been discussion as to the era and whatever, its kinda just floating there. But what kind of technology do REGULAR humans have access to? (E.G. what is possibly in the warehouse?)

I chose a gauntlet that can basically turn into a slimmed down powersuit, but didn't supply it to my character, as I figured that kind of ability in a weapon would require either an extensive quest, or god powers to use. Its up to you is all. (Oh, and that fire extinguisher was a brilliant addition, by the way.)
Just remember, if that warehouse is full of metal, bullets will ricochet. ;-;
Daniel Striden - God of Honor and Loyalty

The drive had left him stiff and a little tired, but there was a certain feeling of companionship that came from tailing another vehicle full of people you didn't know for hours. Those two riding the motorcycles must be real tender by now... But whatever worked for them. Those bikes were a lot more agile and small than a car. He drove diagonally off the dirt road a bit so as to not block the other car from getting out. He walked past some of the others and into the warehouse- introductions could happen later. In time to stumble across... some sort of stand off. The first four were familiar, but not the one facing them. The jeans and black t-shirt were a contrast to Daniel's own apparel; buttoned up shirt over a white undershirt, general work clothing.

The drawn handgun was another matter though. Daniel joined his companions and examined the newcomer. Despite the snake, the other man didn't appear all that threatening. More... playful. If starting a business had taught him anything though, it was the proper way to introduce oneself. Daniel walked forward confidently, positioning himself partway between the man wielding the firearm and the new guy. He winked and extended a hand, keeping enough distance that the other man would have to at least step forward to accept the handshake.

"Hello, I'm Daniel Striden. Attempting to be the god of honor and loyalty, yadda yadda- And you are?"
Feel free to go on a bit without me if the rest of you get posting. I won't be able to post for a few hours
