Growing up in a poor family, Ryan didn’t have much to begin with. He didn’t mind though. Ryan was content playing in the dirt and usually came home covered in mud. It seemed that he did not care that there seemed to be less food on the table with each passing day. But soon the situation became critical. Being the youngest sibling, he was kicked out in order to provide food for the two older siblings, who had jobs and need strength to provide for the family. He was put in an orphanage, and was found to be a “defect”, so he was sent to Nuxvar.

He likes to joke around a lot. Is prone to making highly sarcastic comments from time to time. He’s willing to do work, but not an extreme amount of it.. He's extremely calm and mellow for the most part.

*Background:John and his family were pretty rich back in Elpis. The destruction of the cities didn't hit them as hard as the rest of the citizens but it wasn't kind either. Most of the house staff was turned away and food became a bit scarcer. When Defects started being called in, he was terrified. His parents told him to lay low but when Nuxvar opened he was shipped away. He was glad that the fear was over but sad to leave his brother and twin Roger behind.

*Personality:John is smart, funny and loyal but can sometimes be seen as a tad pessimistic. He's a bit arrogant but only because he knows his abilities. He'd do anything for the people he loves and cares about.

Background: Cassie had a pretty normal life back home. Her family barely scraped by in terms of money and food, but they were happy. Her two younger brothers were always play fighting and when Cassie intervened they would turn on her and they all had great fun. One day Cassie’s uncle was hammering on the door yelling his sister’s name (Cassie’s mother’s name) and three children were sent upstairs but they could hear occasional phrases as voices were raised between the three adults. The next morning Cassie had to say goodbye to her family as it had been decided it was no longer safe for her to stay at home. She travelled with her uncle to Nuxvar and he left her there, promising he would look after her brothers for her.

Personality: Cassandra is loving and loyal- she would do anything to protect those she loves. She has a fiery temper however, and sometimes it gets her into trouble.

*Background: Back home, her parents mostly ignored Caroline, leaving her be raised by her older brother. He taught her to protect herself, knowing that he wouldn't always be around. Thanks to him, Caroline grew up strong and happy despite the negligence of their parents. When the call came to round up the defects, her parents tried to hand her over to earn some small favor. Her brother was the one who protected her, shoving them back and carrying her out. When they got to the border, there was an armed squad waiting for them. Her brother fought against them while she ran, holding them back long enough for her to escape.

*Personality: Caroline is kind, but stubborn. When she sets her mind on a task, she'll try to see it through to the end even at the risk of her life. She's loyal and strong, a good friend to have by your side, but sometimes a darkness can be seen flickering in her eyes.

*Elements: Elpis, Forros

Style: Thanks to her brother's training, Caroline is strong and agile. She incorporates as much of that training as she can into her combat style, creating weapons out of ice and stone. Even so, she is clever enough to include some non-weapon tactics.

Nyx still continued to stand farther from the form group that had surrounded the girl who soon crumbled in to a melt down, but who wouldn't in this situation. She continued to take slow deep breaths even though she could feel her heart in her throat, her poor sisters screams continued to echo in her thoughts as she remembered who last brutal moments in the only place she knew. She clenched her fist and bit her lip as she continued to blend herself with the scenery while she looked around the rest of the room, everyone was different, she could sense everyone's personalities and knew there would be collisions here and there. She stepped forward to try to introduce herself to the boy who was closest to her, his eyes were deep blue while his short hair was jet black. Yeah right, like she was going to be able to talk to him.. or anyone at that.
