Fractions: A New Age

It was nice that she could easily bond with someone in this place and not feel like the world is going to end with someone popping off the rictar scale and destroying half the school like some of the other students had concluded to do. "My little brother wears glasses, so I understand. I feel bad, I was one of the one's calling him that." She laughed light heartily. "But he knows he's loved dearly, but what kind of older sister would I be if I didn't pick on him a bit." She smiled with another wink. She then looked around the empty hall way. "Do you think there is anything fun to do around here, I am not sure where all the people are supposed to be." She shrugged.

Nyx moved herself out of the room quietly before wandering down the hall to see two people talking. She smiled politely at the both of them before passing them down the hall and in to the dining room. She sat herself at the bar with ease but when it came to doing anything she could hardly lift a muscle. The chef tried to make it easier on her by giving longer silverware but it all hurt to do, so she settled with a usual strawberry shake.

She shifted slightly in her seat, he was barely looking at her and it made her feel as if she had done something wrong. "Oh, I slept fine." She lied as she played with her spoon in her cup once it was brought over. "So what are you going to do today?" She asked sheepishly, not making as much eye contact with him as she was before.

It had turned slightly awkward but she knew once she had her coffee she would be good to go for their adventure for the day. She just had to warm up to him again and she was sure that they'd have a great time like the night before. Once they got to the cafe she sat in their usual spots and ordered another Java chip which was what she was given yesterday and soon became her favorite. "So how did you sleep?"

She glanced back with a "Right?" look when he mentioned her not being the only one with colored eyes. "That's what I said, but as soon as there was a bounty over Fractions in the community, everyone in our county assumed I was one just because of my eyes, it was just ironic." She laughed, but she understood what it was like to have jealous sisters and brothers, except when she was pulled out of her own mercilessly and dragged to this place. "It used to bug me but now, I embrace them." She winked both eyes playfully. "You know, you're pretty easy to talk to." She played with a piece of her hair out of habit as they spoke.

Nyx yawned heavily, the pain in her shoulder decreased as the days went by and it was now becoming bearable but not by much. She sat up and looked at her wounds that hadn't bled through as badly as before. Only small blotches here and there across her chest and down her arms a bit. She sighed heavily and stood herself out of the bed, deciding not to look her wounds again she stretched her body and decided she wasn't going to wake Alex up. She quietly put on clothes that would cover her entire chest and arms, but you could still see the bulky bandages from her sweater. She had to get out of the room, and the last thing she wanted was to worry Alex. She would only go get something to eat, and let the poor man rest for once.

She nodded in agreement. "I was just kind of dropped off here and that was it, but that's pretty cool your sister is here. My brothers are both are elpis and I was the only one born with Elpis and Phorros." She laughed then pointed to her eyes, one bright blue, and the other hazel. "That's why I was born with these. It wasn't exactly easy to hide that I was a fraction." She shrugged. "I know that the North hall was meant for us students, I wonder what it is about."

She sighed as in exasperation. "I got here a few hours and already have about three people who hate me." She laughed sarcastically but you could really see how much in bothered her in her eyes. "Well I did walk in the middle of a ginormous fight, and the girl was ready to hit me for messing around to much." She laughed a bit and shrugged, "I'll make sure to apologize soon enough... I am guessing you're new too?"

Her eyes grew wide as she barely caught a glimpse of his reflex in to the wall. She was fast though, extremely fast which she loved about herself. If she would of known he was going to react that way she would have been out of the way a lot sooner. "Don't worry, I'm a tough cookie." She put up her arm and flexed the small bicep muscle with a unattractive muscle man face, before dropping her hand and giggling mildly. "Are you ready to go to the cafe?" She smiled sweetly and even thought about reaching out her hand, but felt like last night may have been too good to be true.
