Couple things, first an element was discovered that permits FTL travel? (I can't see any other reason for a new element and that is the only way to get to other stars) Ok, sounds good enough if you can clear up some issues. It took 7 years for an FTL capable ship to get to Mars?Mars is roughly 8-9 light away. Even IRL it does not take that long to get to Mars, excluding FTL technology, ion or nuclear thrusts (ala VASIMR or NERVA) would easily reach mars in five months, and NERVA existed in the 1970-80's while VASIMR exists today.Heck, even using conventional methods if it takes a year to get to Mars something has gone wrong. Using no constant thrust average travel time is around 250 days.Beyond your overestimated travel times to Mars I like the idea.

Because they're exruciatingly boring compared to the original trilogy, besides the cgi eye-candy. The acting is really stiff, bordering on awkward, and it tries much too hard to reference everything from the original trilogy in some way.And some other stuff. Iunno, I mostly just found them all really, really boring compared to the originals.

Not to mention the universe shrinkage by cramming in cameos from several original trilogy characters including making C-3P0 and R2-D2 pivotal characters, trying too hard to be serious with boring ass political discussions, insulting everyone's intelligence with the Gungans and Jar Jar Binks by trying to cater to kids overly much, having at least three alien races that come across as racist caricatures, battle droids making goofy ass remarks, a huge over reliance on CGI over real sets (none of the prequels aged well), the fact that Hayden Christensen's acting made Anakin such a throughly unlikable character when the while point of the trilogy was supposed to be his fall into becoming Darth Vader, forced and awkward love plots...Fuck. It's endless. I still watch them from time to time, but nostalgia from when I was a kid does not help cover the fact the movies are pretty mediocre with none of the magic that made the original trilogy such cultural powerhouses.

I still feel like they would hardly be of use to the sort of people that need help getting Spam to like them, though. :/However, it does almost make me wanna try to write a list of useful Spam Rules myself... Though just saying that makes me worry that this will become some weird bandwagon any second now.

I feel like these rules are much better suited for OT than they are for Spam. I guess they kind of apply to the occasional Spam thread that delves into a meaningful topic, but those are far from the focus of Spam. Trying to apply these rules to Spam as a whole would mean you're leaving out a lot of key points at best, and just providing bad and/or unusable advice at worst. I stand by my point that OT would be a much nicer place if people followed these rules over there, though.
