As the white-haired girl asked if Crash was alright, Kathy bit down on her lower lip thinking, ‘That’s exactly what I’d like to know.’ Instead she replied, “Y-Yeah. He’s going to be alright.” She wondered just who she was trying to actually convince with that statement, the girl or her own self?
His attempts to reassure her that he was alright were definitely backfiring. She was beginning to feel that he was definitely not okay, and that he was hiding something serious from her. Not trusting herself to speak, she could only nod. She nodded once to indicate that Dani was fine (probably), and again later on when he asked how she was. His concern for everyone else while ignoring his own condition was wonderful, but at the moment she could feel anger beginning to bubble up inside of her because of it.
Getting back onto her feet with Crash, she listened to his suggestion to leave the place and she opened her mouth to reply. Only to be interrupted by an incredibly noise so low and loud she never would have been able to guess it was the sound of a trumpet. Reflexively, she covered her ears from the surprise sound attack wondering if she would become deaf.
Then watching Crash transform back and forth, clearly unsteady on his feet, she couldn’t take it anymore. Lifting her hand high above her head, Kathy slapped Crash on the cheek with as much force as she could muster. She accidentally cut herself on the protruding canines, but she could hardly feel it as she cried out, “Worry about yourself first! You’re clearly in far worse shape than us!!” Shoulders heaving, she took deep breaths, forcibly willing herself to calm back down. Hiding her hand behind her back, stinging from both the cut and impact, she murmured, “Sorry. You’re right, we should go.”
Seeing Zivon fall, she quickly reached over to help him back up again. Looking around, she stopped and asked, “Hey, I don’t hear the fighting anymore. Did they stop?”
