“A pond?” Unable to hide her surprise, Kathy looked at Crash while trying to recall yesterday’s events. There had been a decent amount of time since they separated and met up for the party, but she hadn’t thought that he could have gotten into another mishap during that gap. ‘And here I thought I had a busy time yesterday.’ She thought, half amused and half amazed in a sense.

Watching Lion pace around seeming to be searching for Little Feather’s scent, she became slightly worried. ‘Little Feather went somewhere without him?’ Then seeing the comical pose Lion was putting Crash in, she smiled and nodded. “He’s a friend. Don’t worry, he doesn’t bite.” Drawing a little closer to the table she began to tell Lion, “She couldn’t have gotten far, we should just go and sear-”

?!!!!

Taken by surprise, her thought processes stopped completely. Luck and her own balance had kept them from falling over completely, but that meant she was in complete contact with Crash. Her face turning completely red as she subconsciously held her breath and she found herself frozen in place. She couldn’t even form coherent thoughts let alone figure out how to move properly. It got worse for her when they made eye-contact. Kathy could feel her heartbeat drumming away in her ears and she was sure she was going to die from high blood pressure and/or an irregular heart rate. As Crash jumped away, she finally let go of the breath she was holding and brought her hands up to her burning cheeks. “Th-That’s okay… It wasn’t your fault.” Taking in a deep breath, she thought, ‘At least he seems flustered too. It’s normal to be embarrassed in that kind of situation, right?’

“Caleb! I can’t take anymore today please, for the love of this library get your books and go”

‘Caleb? Who is- oh.’ In a rather unexpected and indirect way, she ended up learning Crash’s full name from the lady at the desk. Unless he had a middle name she didn’t know about, but she was never particularly concerned with middle names because people rarely used it in an actual conversation. She felt sorry for Crash, but at the same time she could sympathize with the lady behind the desk.

“Yeah, thank you. I’ll be out soon.” She told Crash, giving him a small wave in response to his offer to help. Kathy let out a small sigh. She wished her blush would go away as quickly, but the red tint still remained in her cheeks. Luckily for her, Lion had the perfect distraction. ‘Uh oh.’ Glancing once at the mess of papers, her attention quickly turned to the librarian who was clearly not having her best day at work. Watching Crash make a hasty escape she picked up one of the books he had left behind and called out, “Wait! Don’t you need these?” Looking at the title, she raised her brow. It was a paperback copy of Romeo and Juliet. Not a book she particularly enjoyed, and it was rather unexpected to see Crash interested in the tragedy sold under the category of romance. Before she could ponder any further, however, at the next moment the book was taken out of her hand and thrown at the red-haired shape shifter at the exit. The librarian must have really had enough.

Turning to Lion hiding behind her she commented, “Hey, don’t hide behind someone weaker than you. That’s cheating, and turning me into a scapegoat.” With the mess around them, she began to gather the paper again before she was stopped by the librarian. The lady was massaging the bridge of her nose while sighing, “It’s fine, please. Just let me do my work and…” Kathy got the message. Murmuring a quick apology, she went upstairs to where Eric was. Finding him engrossed in a book between the shelves, she tapped him lightly on the shoulder she whispered, “Sorry, but I think I’ll be leaving now. It was very nice meeting you Eric.”

Returning back downstairs, she was just about ready to leave when she saw that the girl with wavy blond hair was back next to Lion. More importantly, something seemed off about her. “Are you alright?” Worried, she knelt down next to them and took a closer look. The girl was sweating a lot and seemed unconscious, which was setting off alarms inside of Kathy’s head. Lightly tapping the girl’s cheeks she tried calling out again, “Hey, can you hear me?”

((There's a tl;dr version I made in the OOC for people under a time constraint. xD))

Dat clothes shopping scene. X3 Looking from afar they'd look completely like a long-time and steady couple.

After seeing that Crash seemed okay enough to smile and make jokes, Kathy stifled her laughter in an attempt not to add to the list of offenses already made in the library with that single accident. Picking the paper off of his head with her left hand she parroted, “And you have a habit of making the most spectacular falls possible don’t you?” Transferring the paper to her other hand (she decided paper couldn’t possibly aggravate the injury), she ruffled his hair with her good hand and added with a light smile, “Just don’t give yourself a concussion. I doubt I can carry you, and I doubt even more that you want to see Kiwi.”

Without another word, she got down onto her knees and began to pick the sheets of paper off the ground. Beginning to make a pile of paper in her arms she glanced over her shoulder at Crash every so often, only to turn her head away as soon as she thought he would catch her looking. ‘My resolution not to stare at people seems to be going far.’ She thought sarcastically. Whenever her expression was out of Crash’s view, she chewed on her lower lip with a slightly determined look on her face. ‘… No more weird troubles Kathy. Just think before you talk, and everything will be fine.’

After gathering quite a few of the sheets, she stood back up and handed them back to Crash. “I haven’t been checking for the chronological order or anything, so you’ll probably want to do that later.”

Looking back at the table, she realized that the number of people there had drastically decreased. In fact, the only ones there were Lion and the girl giving him a good scratch. “Where did Little Feather and Kenshi go?” She asked the two from afar, in the loudest voice she dared in a library.

“No no no, don’t apologize.” Kathy told Little Feather, smiling. “I don’t ask questions unless I’m genuinely curious. Tell me as much as you’d like, and I’m more than happy to listen. Although I’m really no good with history and customs so you’ll probably have to be patient and explain a lot for me to understand.” She gave Little Feather a chance to continue if she wanted to, and after a while she glanced over at Lion and asked, “By the way… Since he’s a spirit animal and all, does he eat? I’m not sure the cafeteria really carries anything fit for a lion, unless he can stomach cooked and seasoned meat.”

An unexpectedly sharp and loud voice (for a library) scolding someone caught her attention, followed by the unmistakable sound of books falling all over the place. Noticing that for the first time since they sat down someone else was the center of attention, Kathy also glanced over in that direction to see who or what could possibly draw more stares than a large white lion. She froze for a moment from the recognition. Once she recovered in the next moment she thought, ‘… That makes the third female I know Crash has sent a flying object around.’ Managing to overhear his last name, she realized for the first time that she didn’t actually even know what his real name was. She let out a deep sigh and chewed on her lower lip, forgetting about the other people around her for a moment. ‘This is why I’m being illogical and ridiculous. I don’t know anything about him. I’m being delusional, and caught up in the moment from yesterday. And worse, causing trouble because of it too.’

Determined not to do anything more she would regret that day, she picked up one of her other books and tried to focus on the first page. “…” It was no good. With just one glance she could tell that not a single word was going to enter her head. Closing her eyes, she let out another sigh as she looked to be mentally preparing herself for something.

Re-opening her eyes, she looked around at the people around the table again. Knowing her actions had probably been strange she gave them a meek smile before whispering, “Excuse me for a moment.” She walked up to Crash, drawing close enough to reach out and touch the book in his hand if she wanted to. In a calm, quiet voice she looked up at him and advised, “… You’ll probably want to sit down to read that, if you don’t want to cause another accident.”
