Everyone does. Now, I've established a safe point, but Rayden might have a little trouble getting through, seeing as how he's a vampire.
Dresden smiled, as he jumped onto the roof, catching up to the human with ease. While he would have preferred a vampire to stand his ground, he was a human. At least he knew his place as a human, and fled. Dresden liked this man's scent. This would perhaps be the most rash and impulsive thing he'd done in a thousand years, but he was feeling impulsive, his stomach filled with blood, his blade covered, relishing in the slaughter. He jumped down, as he sped after the human, kicking his legs from under him. He was interested in how this human handled himself in a fight.
Johnathan directed the battle from his centre point. His soldiers formed a circle, keeping the vampires at bay with smoke., and hitting the more powerful ones with the hose. He shouted for everyone to retreat into the circle. They couldn't win this battle, but they could save as many people as possible. However, he knew they'd have to leave in less than twenty minutes. The foggers would run out of juice, and their position would be swarmed almost instantly, as vampires found the wall of pain and fire disappearing before their eyes. They'd turn from the last stand into a buffet. Time was ticking, and although he regretted it, he knew he'd have to leave some people behind.
