James sat silently, not touching the many foods arrayed before him. This was mostly a social occasion for him. While he did not mind eating in front of others, Third had suggested after he had done so once, that him eating at the banquet would prevent anyone else from eating. He never did understood how humans could be repulsed by the smell of rotting meat. Then again, there was much that he had forgotten about being alive, not that it interested him much.
Although it was not immediately visible, James was keeping a close eye on Victor. He's taken the liberty of poisoning his plate earlier, and he was wondering whether or not Voctor would notice. The poison wasn't anything lethal - it would make him puke up his food, and feel like crap, but nothing more - but that wasn't the test. Third explicitly forbid him to kill people outside of his lessons. However, James wanted to know how acquainted Voctor was with poison. As he was a noble, chances were he'd been the target of an assassination attempt before, but one was never sure. Simply his reaction would be interesting to see. Knowing that someone in the room was a possible murderer was a dangerous piece of knowledge, if he noticed the poisoning.......
