Alright, I've placed the first post. I'm hoping the first of many. Why is William talking to people, and who is he talking to? I have no idea! You guys can make that up.
"John was a nice enough guy. He was lazy, fat, and slobbish, preferring not to do anything, but he never had a cruel thought in his life. And throughout his life, John did less and less, becoming a recluse, preferring to sleep above all else. On his daughter's wedding, his sons had to carry his bed to the procession, and he didn't have the decency to stay awake during the ceremony. Obviously, nothing of interest ever happens to people such as John. However, those that do not participate in the world may often find it knocking on his door. In fact, John was so lazy that when in the end he died of heart failure, he was too lazy to die.
Even to Johnt this must have been strange, as he was quite aware that he ought to be dead, and yet he found himself imply waking up from his midday map in the middle of his own funeral. Somehow, the forces of the universe had moved in such a way that he had been granted life after death, a second chance. Amending to finally do something, John then burst out of his coffin, shouting that he had returned, causing chaos, screaming, and his eventual torturous second death as the people of his village tied him up and burned him at the stake."
William Granby looked around at the gathered people, chuckling slightly. "You may wonder why I am telling you this, and what this little story has to do with our current situation, as none of us are as lazy or as unlucky as John, surely. However, the point of my tale was to emphasize that strange things happen in this world, and that they can happen to anyone. Our greatest seers can watch the Heavens move, but still they cannot predict how the universe will enact itself, as systems of magic too complex for our minds to comprehend move. As such, inexplicable events could happen virtually anywhere at any time.. I hope you will keep that in mind."
William nodded to himself, as, without waiting for affirmation, he walked to the door. His transport was waiting outside, and he hoped he had taught them a good lesson. The forces of the universe were not cruel, as such, but rather unpredictable. And all must be prepared for "divine intervention" or they would surely end up at least as badly as John with his second life.

Imma be thinking up a kick ass ancient vampire similar sorta kinda but not really to Dresden. Perhaps a old leader amongst Dresden's ranks or something?

There are vampire clans around the world. It could be a leader from a different clan, which was wiped out for some reason. Another ancient vampire within Dresden's ranks would be incredibly unlikely, albeit possible. You could have another leader negotiating with Dresden.

Hmm. Would it be possible to introduce another ancient vampire maybe not quite as old as Dresden?..hmmm..

Entirely. While Dresden's age is certainly remarkable, there are no doubt even older vampires in the world.
