They might negate, or they might react explosively. The Matrix, by nature, will attempt to stabilize the Sliver. The Sliver, by nature, will retaliate, seeing this as an attack. A power struggle would commence which might be completely invisible to the naked eye, or might blow the planet to shreds.

Well, the sliver would either react violently with the Dark Energon, or become compatible with it and make Megatron nigh-unstoppable. Also, storing a fully sentient energy being isn't as easy as it might sound. Actually, that doesn't sound easy at all. And yet, it's even harder than that.

Gaia has limited magical senses, but nothing close to what he'd need to sense Trigon hiding between dimensions. However, Dragoon would easily detect Trigon should he come near, and so would Rift.

Of course, you can do whatever you want with the Sliver. It's compatible with any Transformer Technology, except perhaps the Matrix. The Sliver is Chaos, and the Matrix is Order, and those two don't play nice together. Quite possibly explosions would ensue.

Hey, Trigon is observing the world. He is inside of a closed portal with something of a window. But I wouldn't think that Gaia could see in.

I like the idea of making Optmus a Sliverholder. Also, don't worry, it won't take away Optimus' free will.
