Fuzzy Apples give me the collywobbles.
Thanks for the encouragement, ishtar.
Just so you know... .
Would anyone be interested in playing as brothers or as father and son?
If it's okay with Polyphemus that is.
Thank you guys for the feedback but i'm afraid i've gotten cold feet. I don't think it's a good idea for me to GM an RP before playing a character in one. I'll probably reopen the suggestion in a couple of weeks (maybe more). In the mean time i'll gain some experience in RP and will add new scenes to the OP now and then.
Cheers!
Thanks for the quick response and sorry for posting in the wrong place.
I'm still learning the ropes
Hello and thanks for your attention!
I'm new to RP and never been in one before. I found to this forum whilst searching the web for a place to share this idea. Now that i've got some attention and after reading some of the roleplays on the site I've gotten cold feet.

I'm thinking it's probably a bad idea to jump and be a GM before playing a character in an RP at least once. I have too many questions about the nature of this medium and some of them i feel could only be answered by earning experience.

Would you agree with that?

Here is one of the questions that are currently surging in my frontal lobe:
If a scene involves several characters who are played by human players who makes the decisions?
You can't possibly be allowed to make a decision for a character who is played by someone else can you? Obviously the answer is: you should if you want to write more than a sentence each time so the story could progress. But then what decisions are OK to make for someone else's character and what aren't OK? Are there any guidelines for this sort of conflict? Am i thinking about it all wrong?

Interested.
Intriguing! I'd probably want to play a federal agent or some political figure and not a nanite carrier.
I added two scenes that might be kick-offs for an RP: "Gared is given a chance" and "The burned church".
Here is a male programmer/hacker. I'll let you guys decide which is better (maybe none of them )-: ).
Name: Andrew E. Willis (E is for "Ellen" but he keeps that a secret).
Alias: "Kid"
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Occupation: Programmer/Hacker.

Appearance:

Andy drinks regularly and his beer belly doesn't do a good job at hiding that fact.
Height: 1.80 meters (5'7")
Weight: 90 kilos (140 lbs)

Personality: Andy is a cheerful fellow and tends to take things lightly although looking at him and considering his life situation wouldn't make anyone cheerful. He's a lonely man with a serious alcohol and smoking addiction. He's an escapist at heart and whenever given a chance to run away from a decision he would almost certainly do that. He has a good heart and would jump to help almost anyone in need, sometimes without weighing the repercussions of his actions. He wants to see everyone on the ship get along all the time and so he's almost always the first one to dedicate himself to pacifying whoever needs pacifying. Sometimes though, he doesn't realize that his attempts are just making the situation worse. Although he is immature he has a strong fatherly protective instinct and sometimes he acts as if Annabelle is his daughter.

History: He was recognized as a talented programmer at an early age and got special education and training from The Alliance. During the war he worked for The Alliance and in the rest of his twenties he was an employed programmer at "the Academy" so he knows about some of the stuff that is happening there and that's part of the reason he hates The Alliance so much. In the last couple of years before joining the crew he was a bum in the streets of Persephone.

Gear: A touch-pad computer, some cables, pack of cigarette and a lighter, a six pack of beer (at his cabin), some varying random junk (spoon, fishing hooks, swimming goggles etc.), a pistol and a brass knuckle (he doesn't move too quickly but he can pack a punch).
