There wasn't much talk around the table as the four of them ate, the clicking of forks on plates and cups being set down dominating the table, that is until Kaiz leant back and let out a huge belch.
Tilt spat water across the table as he burst out laughing and Anya knocked her plate off the table as she jumped in shock, causing Tilt to laugh harder.
Once things had calmed down and they'd cleaned up the table a bit they got to talking, Kaiz boasting about how many Titans he'd killed, Tilt wondered if Kaiz had really killed any and Anya could talk of nothing but her horse...
She looked up, they'd stopped talking and were looking at her questioningly. Anya was the first to speak."
"You okay sis?"
Arya wondered what she meant, then she noticed the knife she was clenching tightly in her hand stabbing her food over and over. She dropped the knife and sat back, after a moments contemplation she sighed deeply and looked up.
"fine, I'm fine, just a bit... I don't know... nervous? anxious?"
Surprisingly it was Kaiz who responded, nodding sagely.
"yeah, I get that too, I think everyone does, I mean when you think how close we were to being Titan chow..." He paused as he shovelled a huge mouthful into his mouth.
Tilt and Anya shared a glance and then each gave their respective seating partner a shove.
"and I thought you two were the bravest of us!"
Kaiz shot back with
"don't think I didn't see you hiding behind the twins Tilt!"
The group fell back into their usual habits, joking and mocking each other, the tension of the battle slowly leaving them as they relaxed.
