"Promise her," he advised, jabbing his thumb over his shoulder and in Evelyn's direction. "She's the one you want to-"

"Quiet, there's something out there!" said Evelyn, a hint of panic in her voice cracking her usual equanimity.

The entire group fell completely silent. Levi and Evelyn hardly dared to breathe, and the only sound in their ears was that of their respective heartbeats. Evelyn leaned against the window and peered out into the verdant and dense forestry, trying to catch any shapes moving in the distance. Nothing.

"Are you sure?" asked Levi, feeling increasingly on edge. "Evelyn!"

She did not respond. The shadow of fear on her face said more than a thousand words could and she immediately ducked down, signalling for everyone else to hide. Levi swiftly locked the door and pressed his back against it, looking down at his crouching companion with complete bemusement and concern. He had no idea what she had seen but he had almost always trusted her judgement. Slowly but surely, he begin to hear the same sounds that she had warned them of. The faintest echoes of moaning and groaning were carried to his ears; it was the signature death knell of the walkers. The sounds began to get louder with each passing second and, soon enough, it had drowned out the euphony of the birds in the tree tops.

"Where are they?" he whispered to Evelyn.

"They're far away but I can still see them, they're heading right he-"

"In here!" came a desperate voice directly outside the cabin.

Levi felt a powerful slam on the door behind him and could not stop himself from doubling over from the door's impact against the back of his head. He whipped around and pressed his shoulder hard against it as Evelyn slid to the floor and pressed herself against the wall so that no one could see her if they were to look in through the window.

"I can't open it!" shrieked the voice.

"Keep pushing it, I know you can do it!" said another voice, more high-pitched than the first one.

"I can't, it's locked! There's-someone-inside!" said the older girl, each word interspersed with a slam against the door.

"Please, just leave, don't make me do this..." thought Levi, his heart still pounding madly against his chest.

The sounds of the walker herd were becoming deafening. He could hear every little detail; the scraping of their feet against the detritus strewn across the forest floor, the vicious gnashing of their teeth and that horrible snarling sound they made when closing in on a victim.

For some reason, he knew that the two survivors would not or could not attempt to escape. The fear in their voices had been accompanied by utter exhaustion and it seemed that they could no longer run. Even now, he could hear both of them panting, suggesting that the herd of walkers had chased them for miles. A hunt with such alarming dedication and bloodthirst suggested that the herd itself must be comprised of at least a hundred walkers... and those hundred ravenous walkers were now converging on the fragile log house that they were now trapped in.

Considering the dire circumstances, Levi was unable to rack his brains enough to see beyond a binary choice. The first option was to let the stragglers in, try to hold off the walker herd and find a way out together. The second option, ostensibly more sinister, was to allow the undead to feast on the girls outside and use the distraction to escape through a back window.

His mind was not equipped to deal with such a great burden, especially not such a sudden one. What was truly more evil? He felt that the clear 'moral' choice was to allow the girls inside and attempt to protect them, but what if that led to the death of the rest of them? Wouldn't it be more evil to let them in and endanger the lives of the rest of the group? He had to decide whether or not the risk was worth it and was completely sundered in half by the choices presented to him. This entire situation was too much for him.

He gazed down at Evelyn and felt his heart sink to see that she seemed to be as troubled as he was, indecision etched into her face. Finding no recourse in her, his frantic eyes swivelled towards Scarlet and Samantha, silently begging them to help him.

After considering her points fairly and with as much attempted impartiality as possible, Levi edged closer to Evelyn and the two began to converse in hushed, whispered tones, casting furtive glances at the pair every now and then.

"What do you think? She had me at 'crossbow'." he said honestly.

"What makes you think she won't use that crossbow to put a bolt in the back of your head when you least expect it?" hissed Evelyn.

"That's not going to happen, they let us clear out their medicine cabinet! They're not killers, trust me." he assured her.

Evelyn stared at Scarlet and Samantha for a long time, causing an awkward and deafening silence to fill the room. After what seemed like hours, she reluctantly relented.

"Fine, they can follow us to Chicago." she said, just loud enough for the twins to hear her.

"Great!" said Levi with newfound enthusiasm. He approached Samantha and held his hand out. "You're in, and you're coming with us to the Black Mountain."

Levi tilted his head to glance at Evelyn to find that she was mirroring his concerned and hesitant mien. They had survived as a duo thus far and felt that it was the perfect number because it afforded them a contingency whilst avoiding the downfalls that more numbers meant; more mouths to feed and more sound to be made. Stealth was much more possible for a couple than for a group with four members.

On the other hand, their being extant spoke volumes about their capability to survive. It was certainly possible that they would provide an advantage but neither Levi nor Evelyn were aware of exactly what skill sets they would bring to the table.

"And how would the agreement to travel together help us?" demanded Evelyn. "We were able to sneak up on you with ease and could have killed you. How would you benefit us in any way?"

Levi regarded Scarlet and Samantha with an intrigued and fixated stare, weighing up the benefits and drawbacks in his mind. He was quite eager to hear how the twins would respond to Evelyn's impetuous line of questioning and her barely veiled insult.
That'd be great, thanks! I've added your profile to the OP and you're free to join any scenarios that are accepting new entrants! Currently, I believe scenario 1 and 3 are open. Nevermind posted what I think is a scenario but forgot to label it, so you could possibly consider that scenario 4 and join that?
I like it but I'd ask you to tone down the weapons since you have two guns with 195 bullets altogether. The de facto limit we've created is 60 since we don't want the emphasis of characters to be on their weapons. If you agree to lower the ammo, the profile's approved and I'll add it to the OP :)

Levi took the bottle wordlessly and scrutinised it closely, examining the bottle itself for any structural weaknesses before tentatively opening the bottle cap. He peered in closely at the liquid, ensuring that it was transparent before walking over to Evelyn.

"Fire iron, please."

"Huh?" she asked, bemused.

"Trust me, I'm a pharmacist." he said seriously.

With an eyebrow still raised, Eve unsheathed the fire iron and handed it over to him. It was a testament to her survival experience that her eyes never moved away from the sisters during the transfer.

Levi rubbed his finger firmly against the fire iron until there were a few small drops of still-fresh rabbit blood on his thumbs. He held his breath and tilted the bottle over until a tiny amount of the hydrogen peroxide dripped onto his thumb, coalescing with the blood and creating a weak fizzing effect.

"Perfect." he said with a satisfied smile, opening his trench coat and reaching into one of the many inner pockets to produce a bottle filled with clean and clear water. "Here you go." he offered, tossing the bottle towards Samantha.

"Sir Pharmacist, shouldn't you be checking the bathroom for the stash that was just mentioned?" asked Evelyn in a sarcastic drawl.

"It sounds too good to be true but then again, they weren't lying about the peroxide. Stay here, I'll go check it out."

"Just hurry." she demanded, clearly uncomfortable with being left alone despite her superior position, gun still drawn on Samantha who seemed to be the more dangerous of the two.

Departing with a nod, Levi made his way across the living room and turned into the narrow hallway. Pistol by his side, he gently opened each oak door he came across and scanned the room with brevity for any potential threats. When it was clear that the twins didn't have any company, he approached the final door at the end of the hallway and flung it open almost carelessly.

How was it possible that medicine could still exist in here? Surely someone would have looted it by now? And if not scavengers, what about the groundskeeper? Whispering a quick 'just fuck off' to the skeptical and pessimistic side of his brain, he took a deep breath and opened the mirror-adorned medicine cabinet.

Upon seeing the bounty of the cabinet, he felt a strange mixture of disappointment and elation. The two combating beasts in his head, optimism and pessimism, had managed to produce this disconcerting ambivalence. The optimistic side was hoping for a lot more but the pessimistic side thought there would be nothing. Some medicine was better than no medicine. Although the majority would be useless for he and Evelyn, they could possibly use it for trading. He wasn't sure that anyone would be too interested in thiazide diuertics to treat their hypertension when other worries were much more immediate but he couldn't rule the possibility out.

Dividing the bounty into two even parts and clearly marking the bare white bottles with names and uses, he strolled back into the living room and walked in on Evelyn answering Scarlet's question prior to his rummaging.

".... And then I met him in Naperville proper. His house is on Roosevelt, just down south." she finished.

"This is your half of the stash." informed Levi, placing three rattling, half empty-containers of pills onto the table, close to Samantha. "I've written down notes. You've got Acetaminophen, Bendroflumethiazide and Omeprazol. I'm sure I don't need to explain the benefits of Acetaminophen. As for the others, short story is that Bendroflumethiazide is used to treat high blood pressure and Omeprazol will help treat stomach ulcers, heartburn and indigestion."
I'm already familiar with Wolverbells, D and Badend, been rp'ing with them for a few years so they know who I am. New blood, my name is Zain, I'm 22 years old and I live on a dingy little island called England.

We should really add a huge disclaimer when we bring the possibility of a skype group up!

DISCLAIMER: THE SKYPE GROUP CHAT WILL NOT INVOLVE ANY FORM OF VIDEO OR VOICE CHATTING. Text only, just like any other chat! :) Like I said earlier, I've known Wolverbells, D and Badend for a while. Feels weird referring to them with their User IDs but they haven't revealed their names yet so I'd feel bad. Anyway, I've known D and Badend for more than half of my life (definitely over 10 years, I've known Wolverbells for a little over two I think) and I've never voice chatted or video chatted with them. Don't worry! hahaha
Thanks, guys, it really allows us to create a much larger and real world. I can't tell you how banal it is when the entire cast of the RP randomly bumps into each other at the same time and the same place! It looks like we have quite a few scenarios going on right now so not only do we get to write, we also get to read kickass posts from other writers. I second SyrianHamster's sentiment, this group is fantastic so far. The quality of the writing has been unequivocally and consistently fantastic. Beyond a doubt, this is the best group I've ever RP'd with. Friendly, talented and without a hint of pretentiousness (which has been a reoccurring theme in many of the other RPs I've been in)! Can't wait to join more scenarios!
I tend not to skip over posts unless it's just fluff. Judging by your first post, that won't be the case. However, I just don't want anyone to fall behind. In the past RPs I've participated in, the topics would grind to a halt because some players wrote novels that'd take them an entire day just to make one post, so scenarios would take weeks to complete. As long as we avoid that, I love long posts!

Also, Nevermind, loved your first post too but you need to preface it with a scenario number. If it's a new scenario, you should probably call it #4 as SyrianHamster's taken lucky number 3.
