Kyo fell to the ground immediately and screamed in pain, too steeped in shock and fright to think rationally. He did not think about rolling, nor did he think of combating the flames with his white magic. All he could think of, past the sounds of his own agonised cries, was that the fire was to cleanse him of sin.
This was what he had coming to him; retribution for the crimes he had committed. His screams grew louder as the fire tore across his body until every inch of him was covered, his face melting and distorting gruesomely from the fire as blood and other fluids poured from the wounds on his face.
Kyo, recognising his defeat, dropped the mind assault and rammed into the whips repeatedly, protecting all of the points that made contact with a telekinetic shield. He unleashed a barrage of kicks and punches against it to weaken it as much as he could before plunging his fingers through the fire. Keeping the burns at bay with his healing white magic, he used all his strength to tear a chasm into the fiery chamber.
He hastily dove out and rolled onto the floor before Dark could lock him back in again and charged towards him, throwing multiple telekinetic daggers at his torso while he did so.
He shut his eyes tightly and created a mind link with Dark, suddenly overloading his sensory capacity with a traumatically loud and screeching sound. He needed to weaken Dark's concentration before he could break out of the dark and fiery chamber that his opponent had created for him. As the mind attack continued unabated, Kyo searched for any structural weaknesses in the coiled whips so that he could escape the containment.
Kyo blasted the flame whips to the side with his telekinesis and formed a sphere around himself, moving straight up into the air and hurtling towards Dark. The orb around him dissipated and he outstretched his arm, his fist heading straight towards Dark's nose.
Kyo disengaged himself from Balthazar's side and stepped into the middle of the gymnasium, eyes locked on Dark as he gently shook his arms and wrists. This was the first time he had seen Dark since the terrible events of last night and, to his major concern, found that retaining eye contact with Dark was next to impossible. Just the sight of him made the memories of the murder seem fresh in his mind, the gory fragments of viscera on his skin and the smell of blood in the air...
"Let's go." he finally managed to say, arms spread to the side as if saying 'let's get this over with'.
With a lazy flick of her hand, Ivy instantly caused the swirling tornado of dark energy to suddenly dissipate. She observed Jade on the ground, amused at the rather weak barrier of magic formed around her.
"I could say the same for you." she commented conceitedly. "Fine, I'll train you. Weekends, 8am."
And with that, Ivy turned on her heel and left the gardens.

-Ivy has left scenario #11-
Ivy had encapsulated Jade within a thin dome of ice that allowed her to keep up the illusion from the outside. Taking pleasure in the sight of Jade blindly searching for her, she placed her hands against the ice calmly and focused her energy, creating a small vortex of menacingly swirling dark magic that steadily grew larger.
The darkness around Jade began to creak loudly and ominously as the floor folded up and closed in around her, threatening to crush her as the space became smaller and smaller. Before the walls made contact however, a loud shattering sound broke the entire illusion as pieces of ice went flying in all directions. The vortex was now five times the height of Jade and almost three metres thick. It raged and billowed in tight circles until the dark tendrils consumed Jade's entire body and she vanished from sight.
Ivy's smile grew darker as she glared into Jade's eyes, her sharp and penetrating stare boring ever deeper into Jade's, waiting for her to blink.
Ivy was gone.
In fact, everything was gone. The grass, the trees, the lake and the stars above had all been replaced by impenetrable, inky blackness and a sudden, freezing drop in temperature. It was as if Jade was trapped in a realm that no one had ever entered and, more saliently, one in which no one had ever left.
Ivy raised an eyebrow at the girl, rather enjoying watching her attempting to conceal her embarrassment. Contrary to what Ivy had previously thought, Jade was not aware of who she was and had simply sauntered over to ask for lessons based on the dark magic hood that Ivy used to keep the world at bay.
"That would be me." she replied dryly. "You're easily impressed, aren't you?"
Ivy got up to her feet in a leisurely manner and looked down at Jade, cracking her neck to both sides before smiling sardonically.
"Why don't I give you something truly impressive?"
"Dark?" she repeated, a slightly curious cadence to her voice. "Ahhh..."
Ivy remembered the boy, one half of Balthazar's new proteges. Also, fresh in her mind, was how she and the other girl, Aphrodite, had wiped the floor with the two friends. Dark had hardly posed her a challenge. She was unsure if it was poor teamwork, or if the two were actually that inept.
"If you believe Dark's abilities to be superior to mine then, by all means, go ahead." she said placidly.
