Galen stands at a decidedly non-imposing 5’3”, made even shorter by his habit of slouching. He wears an oversized cloak that covers everything below his neck. Galen’s white hair does little to offset the paleness of his skin. Galen’s eyes are a shade of gray that appears black under most lighting, breaking the monotonous paleness that persists throughout the rest of his body. Galen appears to be otherworldly, in some regards, but it has been established that he is, in fact, human. His overall appearance makes him look younger than he is, which causes him great irritation.

Galen often comes off as aloof, though this is more because of his upbringing, and exchanging words with him will reveal that he is a lot less prideful than his mannerisms may show. He is very intelligent, but underestimates himself often, especially if put in a leadership role. Galen has a firmly set ideal of doing no (direct) harm as a healer. Galen believes that death is a necessary, crucial part of life, even if he wishes to keep things alive for as long as possible. He frowns upon necromancers, believing that they have made a perversion and mockery of death in their practice.

TALON: Galen wears a black glove over his right hand, its index finger tipped with a scalpel. However, with some hesitation on his part, Galen has been known to use the sharp implement for self-defense purposes; he is well-versed in how most bodies work, and where it hurts most when cut.

MEDICAL SATCHEL: A leather satchel Galen keeps stocked with poultices and potions, as well as medical tools. Nothing noteworthy, but it does allow him to keep his allies healthy without always having to rely on magic.

CODEX CANNENTA: A thick book Galen keeps by his side wherever he goes, as it is the only connection he has to his family. The Codex Cannenta is a book filled with knowledge of both magical and practical healing passed down through many generations. Though there is nothing in the book that couldn’t be found anywhere else, Galen’s unceasing study of his predecessor’s work have allowed Galen to mix-and-match certain parts to amplify the effect of his own spells. Unbeknownst even to Galen, the book itself is alive and has taken great liking to its current owner, who displays a love for life unmatched by any other adventurer.

Galen is exceptionally adept at healing magic, and often augments it with applications of practical medicine, for greater affect. However, he knows only the most rudimentary magic in other fields, which might be an inconvenience to his allies if they need another offensive magic user. Despite that, Galen refuses to learn offensive magic, as he believes all life is precious, though he understands that monsters must perish to keep his fellow adventurers alive. In that regard, he has also learned a few spells to enhance his allies’ offensive and defensive capabilities, but as they aren’t quite the healing spells he’s used to, he does have moments where he might slip up.

The sole heir to the small clinic his parents ran, Galen grew up learning to value the lives of everything and everyone, regardless of status. However, at the age of 14, Galen’s magic manifested itself and his parents opted to keep it hidden away from their relatives, who were known for using magic-using family members as assets in their quests for noble status.

Studying at home, Galen proved himself to be a genius in healing magic, much to his and his parents’ glee. Yet, through one way or another, Galen’s relatives found out about him and abducted him. Pleading for help but getting none, Galen’s parents set out to retrieve their son themselves, but met their end prematurely when the information they were given about a “safe path” proved to be false, and a band of orcs made quick work of them. Finding out his parents’ fate from his guard, who was the one to give his parents the faulty information, Galen was driven to despair.

At the age of 20, Galen – now using the name Antara - was set to meet a minor noble’s daughter in hopes of arranging a marriage, and nabbing some form of status for his relatives. However, on his way there, a group of bandits raided the carriage he was in. Galen let them kill his guards and his aunt and uncle who were riding with him, and even offered to heal the injured among the bandits. Grateful, the leader of the bandits set him free, despite his subordinates’ protests.

Galen set out to be an adventurer, going back to using the name Cannenta to honor the parents he had lost. Despite knowing only basic offensive magic, Galen’s skill in both magical and practical healing is enviable.

Hello! Is this roleplay still taking applicants?

Ahh, alright, thank you. I'm also fleshing the CS out, since I'm kinda iffy with him being mute now.

Done editing it. Does it look good?

add them then I'll pass judgements once we get more completed cs's. So far we only have a few so until we hit 5 I won't be making any hard "you have to edit this" requests (other than the whole matter vs energy thing we already did lol)

Is it okay if I add more powers to Taylor's arsenal? Don't worry, they're all gonna be fabric-based.

Also, I was gonna make him a papyrokinetic (paper manipulator), but that's already been done with Celia.

Well we also need to go by the events that led up to each character being op. Cole, as an electric conduit, wasn't that amazingly powerful (minus kessler who had years upon years to build his power). Cole on the other hand wasn't that amazingly powerful, just versatile. And then in the second game he got powers added to him via a machine making him even stronger and giving him variety. Delsin was op cause he was basically the "rogue" of the infamous universe, which automatically makes him op.This being said, when you look at every known conduit in the infamous universe, only the antagonists (bertrand, augustine, kessler) and the protagonists (cole and delsin) are really the only "op" characters within the franchise. Now for our characters, limited to having only had one specific set of powers that in all actuality are decently limited, Mine can only control paint and ink, even if she can make solid constructs, they're still flimsy and easily destructible at best, just unique and versatile. thrn plans on making another weak material conduit, a cloth based one. So far, metal is the only real "op" one, and that's only cause you didn't set the parameters of what metals he was able to manipulate since he wouldn't be able to control all metals since they all vary in the actual material, like copper versus zin, or lead versus iron, etc.

Hells yeah weak-material conduits unite.

EDIT: Also, keep in mind that even if you deem your element weak, conduits can combine powers, such as Phantom's and mine being able to create a splash/cluster grenade that stuns enemies while pulling them together to be finished off.

I don't have a problem with the character if you want to use him still, just add a new power. If you want to do a full re-make though then yes please just edit the post isntead of adding another. Also, thank you for not arguing with me on this. Nice to have those willing to change when I ask :)

There you go! Cloth-based manipulator who creates paper constructs out of bland, white fibres.

Gonna have to ruin the parade for you thrrnvwls and say that light is not an applicable power. 1. Being able to absorb and heal in any light is kind of ridiculously over powered.2. Light is not actually matter. . Essentially it says that light is a form of energy, and that it has no actual mass and therefore can't be defined as matter. And before you say that neon light was in the game, neon within the infamous series is actually plasma in form (the technical fourth state of matter) and therefore has actual mass and can be manipulated. So sorry, but light is a no go.

Alright, I'ma go ahead and create another character. Do I edit that post or add a new one?
Name: Taylor Orwell

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Taylor is fit, and built for quick movement. Taylor's main method of movement is free-running, but he is lighter on his feet and incorporates a lot of flips and jumps to both his movement and attacks. He's also very flexible, much like the cloth he manipulates. He is seldom seen without a shirt, as his upper torso is heavily scarred from the experiments conducted on him in Curdun Cay.

Personality: Taylor, due to the extensive amount of time he spent at Curdun Cay, is a quiet individual. He can be a bit smug at times, and considers himself a pretty good fighter. However, he is willing to take orders, as long as he is sure that innocent civilians won't get hurt.

Conduit Powers: Taylor can manipulate and absorb fibres. However, his control of this ability is extremely limited due to the time he spent in Curdun Cay. Due to his heroic alignment, Taylor's fibre-based attacks are colored with splashes of white and blue fabric.

Background:
Los Angeles, 2009

Taylor Orwell passed out in the middle of a party. Paramedics ensured that he was alive, but failed to wake him up. He lapsed into a coma. His parents panicked. After one month, Taylor awakened to a relieved group of people who cared for him. A doctor almost immediately started asking him questions, pointing out that Taylor passed out at the exact hour that Cole MacGrath had activated the RFI. Barely out of a coma, Taylor felt an immense amount of stress, and his powers first manifested when he almost strangled the doctor to death with a blanket.

Distraught and confused by this recent development, Taylor's parents kept Taylor secluded from the outside world. Taylor was completely satisfied with keeping his powers hidden, as he also considered himself a freak because of how his parents treat him. He lived the next year or so as a "normal" teenager. So, when the DUP arrived at their doorstep, it was understandable that the Orwells were surprised. Apparently, a neighbor had given the DUP a hint for a sizeable reward. Dubbed a "bio-terrorist" and taken under custody, Taylor's life was completely flip-turned upside-down. Being one of the first "bio-terrorists" taken to Curdun Cay, Taylor earned the special privilege of not having anyone to talk to. After extensive examination, Taylor's powers were determined to be cloth-based, and extreme measures were taken to ensure Taylor had little to no access with any type of clothing fibres.

Only being taken out when he was to be experimented on, Taylor's mental disposition deteriorated at a constant rate. He began talking to himself and started hearing voices in his head. 6 years of his life, he spent this way. So when Delsin Rowe and his companions finally defeated the DUP and freed the captured conduits from Curdun Cay, Taylor was surprised by how much the world had changed. Confused, alone, and scared, Taylor looked for a purpose. He ran away from Seattle, eventually arriving at New York following several months of hitchhiking. After helping a young woman that was being mugged, Taylor realized his powers can be used to help others so that they won't experience the helplessness he felt in Curdun Cay.
Whoo, awesome! Thanks.
