You haven't been watching it at least once per year?!HEATHEN!

xD

I actually've been wanting to do the originals straight in a row for a while, get some popcorn and coca-cola (the real stuff with actual sugar and a glass bottle, from Mexico). But we lost the movies.

Random thought of the day: In 'The Empire Strikes Back' when Luke is on Dagobah and Yoda is eating his food, did anyone else wonder if that thing was just a fish stick?

A response to this would require that I remember something that I saw when I was 5-7 better than I do. :P
I completely agree that the Indoctrination Theory/similar ideas work better than the ending being played straight, but the way it works (and some statements) comes off like the writer's intended for the straight play. Unless they change their minds, that's their canon. Which was always what bugged me most about it.

Favorite ending was the Rebel ending. No compromise, actually fits the game's previous themes, and allows you to argue against Star Child instead of being forced to agree with him or "understand" his viewpoint. You're not picking the three options Star Child gives you.

Well the collab crew still has a part 2 all ready to go, and we will be doing a part three as well. But we are waiting so we don't jump too far ahead of everybody.I've actually been wanting to do a SB post regarding Marks experiences in the FCW, but I'm not sure how to have it make since, seeing as it would have to be some kind of digital record that the SB could obtain. I was thinking maybe some kind of journal, but that would be a little boring imo.

Since Tzvi is supposed to be an unimportant quarian going out of her way to avoid significant notice, I do SB bits with emails to other characters, or emails under a different name, or bits of record that happened to catch her (whether or not any info. broker realizes or cares).
E.g. A security camera with audio happening to catch a part of a conversation.

Even if Mark doesn't have significant documentation, he's probably been on a lot of cameras. Again, whether anyone actually realizes or cares, it could be somewhere.
Star Child is the Reaper King representing the Reapers with a transparent, glowing blue version of the kid that thought Shepard's hand smelled, ran off into an evacuation ship, and got laser'd by Reapers.

Which makes it a lot more morbid than I first realized. The Reapers are trying to convince you they're doing good/not evil by using the image of a child they brutally murdered/obliterated (along with trillions of other lifeforms).

And yeah, there's a reason I said I'd usually expect people to only know terms in certain forums. Star Child is a near universal term after the gigantic blow-up at ME3's ending (I can't think of a more major game-specific thing, off the top of my head, other than people complaining/pleading for Half Life 3 to happen already and getting hyped at false omens). I don't even know what else to call 'im.

It's being made with the Frostbite 3 engine, which powers Battlefield 4.Whatever the shit it's going to be, it's going to be beautiful and possibly highly destructible.

Wait, it's in development??
I thought it was still a "maybe" thing they were only talking about.

DAMN THEM! DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!Seriously. They killed that kid. Fuck em.Who is Star Child?

I usually don't expect people to know a fan phrase unless they're on the right forums, but I'm surprised you somehow evaded that one.

Wait...You've played ME3 right? Or had the ending ruined already?
Cuz uh, I have a bad habit of accidentally spoiling things for people in casual conversation.

So what do you guys think about the next ME game? What time period would you like to see? Large scale or small scale plot. What kinds of features? Persoanlly I think it would be cool if they let us choose to play as any of the races.

It'd be cool, yeah, especially if it mattered beyond the character model one played. But the latest Bioware games, I think, are going the opposite direction and sticking to just humans.

I have no idea how they'd manage a post-ME3 game. Synthesis was, or acted like, the writers' personal favorite/best ending. Maybe they'll show how bad the Destroy/Rebel ending is and show the error of many fans' ways. ;]

Main character should be Star Child - or the beginning should pretend it's going to be Star Child.
Sunny D! Good to see you in the OC. :]

YEEES! Terry you've saved me! I was not aware of the secret 'Defense Score.' Everybody survived, but boy has that last level lost it's excitement.

You're both Terry now? D:
I had to double-check to make sure Voltaire was posting what I thought was Voltaire posting, and not Volt.
Next thing you know you all'll have some combo of your avatars and signatures, and post as the other's character(s). And I'll just give up and switch to "Terry" in all cases. And it'll become a mythological name in Nova canon.

...killed Jacob out of spite for unintentionally killing one of my favorite characters.
You don't want to do that? Fine; just throw your character somewhere into the party and get them involved with Nova from there.

Not for Jacob being Jacob? At least Ashley/Kaiden get killed by fault of their own personality. ;]

I'm getting preemptive deja vu.
Every newbie in Nova is going to be a hired bodyguard-merc snatched up from a rich hanar's fundraiser party through shenanigans/certain Nova members, much to the anger and disapproval of the majority of Nova.

The elderly members can help the newbies brainstorm on the OC, I'll look through the characters again.
Right now we've only got Errol and Tallin, with maybe two others to boot.
Individually, most of them may be skilled, but together…well, they're hardly a cohesive unit.

Nova's only tied together by Shepard Roland. Without him, the Tyrus would be drifting debris orbiting an uninhabited planet, and all the members would be alone for some reason.
I have a few ideas, just off the top of my head, about how various characters might be involved in the mission Derv and I are GM'ing, even if only tangentially (Mosis made some good examples, but there's a couple other things they could do, too). So if people need help getting involved in the RP, Derv and I should be able to help (or provide ideas, at the least).

Also, a lot of the characters have one or more persons interested in finding them or harassing them, so you could use one of the background stories and check with the RP'er playing the character to whip an idea up. Or, following Mosis' earlier idea, involve them with one of the other new characters.

One last thing, the Tyrus is a pretty nice ship, a turian stealth prototype. If any shady black market dealers caught notice of it, or the turian government, or most anyone else, they might be on a hunt to get it. The new character could somehow be after that.
Hey Reylaa, welcome aboard. :] Don't worry, adding the one extra on top of the one extra, at this point, won't hurt much. Particularly if things go as the recent posts suggest. Just post up the CS and we'll have a look.

GM-y things:
Splitting the teams up (did that for the mission here, too, though to a lesser extent) is an awesome idea, and it handles the issue well while giving a larger group of individuals to mess with. Particularly on the note of getting focused interactions between various characters. That builds things up into cooler things.

The only issue with this is if players get stuck in a small group, where the rest are inactive, and the player's character can't get into contact with anyone else that is actively played. In that specific case, it'd get 'em stuck with dead weight, talking to themselves. And that always sucks.

I think it's also good to steer clear of competitions on who gets accepted. It's no longer strictly a judge of if the character's/RP'ers good enough to play by the rules, cutting otherwise solid players that might stick around for years, and it always breeds a bad vibe.

Since this cuts down on the issue of the whole group going at one thing all at once, should we still close applications to new members?

I should bring Bob back.I miss him so.

Bob was a prodigy the galaxy lost before his time. 'Tis a sad thing he did not achieve his full potential.

Yeah but if we did that we'd have to kick Derv out.Liner notes/Summary ENGAGE:Once upon a time, on the faraway planet of Kahje...

Ha. One of the oldest members kicked for a bad strain of typos.
This post made my day. :D
