Two points I'm a correct you It was a way to deal with super bad schools(in terms of behaviour and shit)And yeah, it was broadcasted to some extent. I haven't seen it recently so I maybe wrong.

In the manga, the alive students were broadcasted in the country. But it wasn't a TV show. But I agree with Kiriyama being ridicilous. He clearly represents a game hacker. Sees through walls, can't die, aimbot and stuff. But still, I liked it as a tragic story rather than a deathmatch(though I like death games)

Appreciate the clarification. :]

Darog: I was just going off memory of what I saw, myself. I liked the show, but I thought the justification made no fucking sense (going off the one-line excuse I thought it was earlier). It's possible I missed a line or part in the movie.
Neat sig, by the way. The animation's awesome.
I don't get it.

And I'm glad that you recognize the fact that I didn't voice any complaints about HG being a ripoff of BR, I simply saw both have basically the same premise with different settings and compared the two. One I liked and one I disliked. I wouldn't agree with what you're saying about HG's premise for the games being any more believable than BR, I'd say both are equally unbelievable because both are the same fucking premise, using arena deathmatches with children as a means of preventing rebellion. Stopping populations from rioting by constantly keeping them focused on brutal combat. It's an illogical concept that couldn't possibly work in realistic application. The difference between BR and HG is that BR embraces the ridiculousness of the concept where HG puts all this work into creating a reality where it would succeed while still failing to address the ultimate flaws of the concept.

Yeah, that's totally cool. Everyone's got different opinions and preferences.

I don't remember Battle Royale going for the political side of things in the same way Hunger Games did. Could be poor memory, but I recall the explanation in Battle Royale being, "You kids are spoiled snots (for wearing clothing or being 20 years younger than the showrunner or some shit) and we adults here hate you, so time to die motherfuckers." I imagined it as those people who used to say "Don't trust anyone over 30" changing to "Don't trust anyone under 30," to the extreme end of assholedom.

And, I don't recall it getting broadcasted the way Hunger Games did, to everyone else.

The Roman Colosseum was used the same way, it was real, and I assume it worked to some extent, unless tradition and really morbid tastes just kept it in style. They didn't each everyone how to fight and brutally murder people, or teach how to gather into a strong military/militia force to fight against the dominant force, they just took the people they didn't like and wanted society to not act similar to or be and put 'em to the death in a way that entertained and warned the masses simultaneously.

Similarly, with both movies, the set-up is only one survivor that ever gets out, and knowing more about how to kill, on their own or in small numbers of others, doesn't suddenly amass into a giant threat. I assume in Hunger Games, it also helped that the winners could live pretty comfortable afterward as reward. Easier to take the reward than fight against a major power with no organized system to do so.
Not a sig person, but I'll give it a shot if I have the chance. :]
Obviously, request is still open for people who know what they're doing.
I'm glad not to see complaints that Hunger Games was just ripping off Battle Royale. :P Considering both are different versions of the Roman Colosseum. With some reality T.V. thrown in Hunger Games on top.

I like both movies; they've got different strengths. Hunger Games isn't a realistic setting - I don't see how it'd happen anywhere in modern Earth - but it goes for a lot more believable reasons and detailed background/politics than Battle Royale. The Hunger Games do exactly what the Roman Colosseum did. It acts as morbid entertainment and crowd control simultaneously, to keep all the unhappy unwashed masses tame and maintain the status quo. What I do know from the films and books are pretty clever, particularly for a teen series, which usually assume the audience is brain dead.

Also, the way it plays with reality T.V., also done before, is neat.

Slaughtering Fiends and obliterating the obstacles to civilization in the wasteland don't require being a dick.

The NCR taking over is a flawed solution, a sort of mixed good-ish ending with some unfortunate consequences. NCR's basically a criticism about elements of the modern U.S. It's got a lot of corruption and government nonsense that slows things down, makes plans to help people or build society less effective or counterproductive, they've got an arrogance and controlling attitude toward the territory it wants to control, etc. I remember at least a couple things going significantly downhill, going the NCR route. It is one of the better options, though. And I think it's flaws actually make it a better ending writing-wise.
Still, the best ending (in terms of consequences) is the Wild Card, if the player's put all the effort in and made all the right choices.

I kill everything organic I see except those deemed worthy to live in my new regime.

Something I wanted to test but never did the extra playthrough to do, was having a character that goes on murder sprees when one particular song plays. :D
The challenge being that the radio for it has to be on at all possible times. It would hilariously fuck up just about every alliance/positive progress a player could manage.
Nicely done collab, guys. Didn't expect Luek to go so far as turn his fancy room into a laundry machine. ;]

This is a good question. I think you're spot on: A team meeting the day after Kahje, where we argue a bit about Mark/ the mission and then end it when we get a distress call (and then we're off to go pick up the newbies)

Awesome. :] Yeah, I was hoping for that. It'll take care of a couple things and keep it from getting stale/stuck at one point too much.
That's how I viewed it. I think it's a good idea. Things get way more stagnant when people are both not RPing and not talking to the other players.

Are you guys still taking apps for this?

We're going to take a check on who's all in the game. If we have an extra space, I'd be up for a new application. It might actually be a better time than usual for someone to join.
