Gwen was swimming in circles with the stress. Her home had been crushed by the human ship. All her possessions - wait! Fuyu (her pet jellyfish) might be trapped! Agh! She just had to go and rescue her! She swam through the weeds surrounding her with elegance. She wiped some algae off her face and she soon reached the lake. She was going to have to swim through it to get to the pirates' boat. Gwen braced herself for a descent, for that was the safest way through the cold, icy waters. She thought she needn't look on the surface of the water for any movement, because the swans and ducks always caught her out and got her in a flap.

Soon she was speeding downwards, through the undergrowth and lower. She was going quite fast, but then she was caught. She was flung back and couldn't move. Gwen screamed in her underwater language - something had got her, something big. She gave the mermaids' cry, hoping someone would hear her and come to the rescue. The net was groping at her neck and her world began spinning, until everything went black... (passed out for lack of oxygen. note her tail is still there.)
