In terms of the more magical girl aspects of the story, I imagine some of it can play out rather typically for the genre, such as the powers being given to the mane characters from a magical race of kind, benevolent beings that are at war with a race of evil, malevolent beings and need the mane characters help and stuff. The evil creatures would be invading the good creatures on their own planet, and so some of the good creatures flee to Earth in order to find someone to help, which is why the good creatures find the mane characters. The evil creatures would then follow the good ones and start attacking Earth in order to find them. For the mane characters' powers, I was intending to have more physical combat involved, and have the action, powers and such be more shounen anime inspired (as opposed to most magical girl stories that are usually about casting spells and no real up close physical fighting). I was thinking that they could manifest in different ways based on their characters, so if one character is more physically fit they would have magic abilities based in combat and offense, if they're more mentally advanced they could have psychic or intelligence based powers, and many other things as well. I was also thinking that there could maybe be a medieval theme with the magical girl titles, so like one of them could be "Knight [Name]", another could be "Princess [Name]" and another could be "Duchess [Name]" and so on

The story would play out like most MG anime do. It would start with the characters in their normal life, establishing their characters and relationships with each other and showing what their average life is like in a slice-of-life kind of thing (preferably with them going around in college interacting with each other). Then at a later point in time, one of the beings from the evil magical race attacks the Earth somewhere close to the mane characters, causing them to freak out and wonder what is happening as they flee the scene. Very soon after, they'll run into one of the good magical creatures, who will tell them all about what is happening and explain to them that they need to help

Now it seems people are split on the space crew and magical girl RPs. I wish I could just do both, but that probably wouldn't be a good idea considering I have trouble running even ONE RP consistently, so...I guess what I could do is make one, and then make another if the other one dies. I'll start with the magical girl one

As awesome as a magical girl space crew RP would be, I would have to scrap pretty much all the ideas I have for both RPs to make that happen

To explain, the Space Crew RP is a very old RP idea I thought of a long time ago (almost a year ago), and I've been kind of absent mindedly including it every time I make threads like this on forums. It's a very old idea, and one that I've kind of lost a lot of interest in doing

There's also the fact that...well, I don't know very much about space. That doesn't make the idea unusable, just that it'll mean the RP will be VERY soft, Star Wars/Doctor Who sci fi, which might disappoint some people

So there are these ideas for some RPs that I've been keeping in my back pocket for quite a while. However, I dunno if anyone would be interested in any of them, so I decided to make this thread where I talk about each idea and see if anyone likes any of these ideas and see if I should make any of them

FIRST IDEA: LIGHT HEARTED POST APOCALYPTIC RP
This RP would be a post apocalyptic story, but the idea behind it is that it is NOT grim and bleak like most post apocalyptic stories are, it will be one that is more focused on adventure, action, world building, character interaction and a little bit of comedy rather than darkness and grittiness (think of something along the lines of, say, Zombieland or Borderlands). In other words a more fun and silly post apocalypse RP. The story would take place in Los Angeles, and it would be an apocalypse where most of the buildings were still standing, so there would be room to do stuff with the landmarks and famous locations. One idea I have would be that bandits and gangs take over the sports stadiums (like the Staples Center and Dodgers Stadium) and use them as their personal headquarters

SECOND IDEA: MECHA ANIME-ESQUE RP
This RP is inspired by Gurren Lagann, and would resemble the worlds of mecha anime. It would take place 500 or so years in the future, where humans have achieved space travel and have terraformed and populated Mars. However, after years of developing and defining it's own civilization and culture, the humans of Mars want to be seen as a separate entity, independent from Earth (as opposed to just an extension of Earth). But Earth doesn't want that, and so a war begins. Unfortunately, that is only half of the concept of this RP, and the rest of the concept behind this RP is INTENSELY spoiler heavy, so much so that it will actually change what I have just described here, so I don't want to reveal too much with this one. All I can really say that the idea will involve a VERY massive genre shift and making the story a lot more epic

THIRD IDEA: SPACE CREW RP
This is an RP that is made in the style of that certain subgenre of science fiction shows/games/movies that take place on a spaceship, where the focus is on the crew and their relationships while they go around and discover new places and get in adventures. Stories like Mass Effect, Firefly, Doctor Who, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and the various Star Trek series. The players would play as each member of the crew, so each player would take the role of the captain, the pilot, the engineer, etc. They would interact with each other and develop relationships with each other naturally based on the characters' personalities, all while they go to different planets and get into adventures and stuff

FOURTH IDEA: MAGICAL GIRL RP
This RP would be in the style of Magical Girl anime series, but one that would be more subversive, self aware and deconstruction-ish in regards to the magical girl genre. I don't mean for it to be a ZOMG HARDCORE DARK SUBVERSION like Madoka Magica or something like that however, I want something that can still be seen as a legit MG story, just one that's a little more self aware and smarter about itself by subverting some tropes and poking fun at others. My main idea would be to have the main characters be around college age and/or older. I think that would not only be an interesting subversion of the usual trend, but it would probably make the characters a little more interesting. Having more mature characters would allow them to be handling more serious, young adult problems relating to their point in life (instead of the usual highschool shenanigans/angst that most MG characters go through), such as careers, independence and becoming an adult, figuring out where they want to go in life, maybe a bit of college drama, and many others. It could certainly create some interesting character development, I think. I have quite a bit of other ideas for this RP, but I don't want to turn this into a bigger wall of text than it already is, so I'll leave it there
