The bar for acceptance for really off-kilter character concepts is proportionately high. Wow me and I might accept it. Toss something up that's lame or even mediocre and it will be a no go. Characters like this are challenging to pull off, so you essentially have to prove to me you can do so.

Crossbreeds would be almost nonexistant for the following reasons. Sex between species is taboo among the fey of both courts (and punishable by banishment within the Seelie realm). The species are highly diverged genetically, far more so than any human race or ethnic group, more than even humans and neanderthals. For this reason offspring are generally impossible or stillborn. Those who are conceived would all be sterile to a one and many would be born with some kind of physical or mental abnormality.

As far as glamer, a crossbreed might have no natural glamer as the unnatural melding disrupts its inheritance from either parent. More rarely a crossbreed might inherit one or both of his parent's hereditary glamers or they might merge together into a completely unique kind of magic.
Avery Calhoun said Ill make Addar a little more unique within the personality and history portions. What have now is his foundation, I was leaning toward the trope of a sort of fey immigrant that has strong roots in his ethnic culture but has embraced New York wholeheartedly. I should finish him up tonight and if I still need to soften him up a bit we should talk about that. Don't worry though, I promise I will not be going the Alibaba genie route.

One thing that might help is considering where the points of cultural contact are between fey and bigguns. Remember that they can't directly talk to them. Traditionally fey have understood bigguns through books and been influenced through literature. For traditional fey such as Seelie this is mostly still the case. On the other hand, the Unseelie, who are more wired, have a totally different cultural input through the net. Also unlike the Seelie they can actually view human movies and television as the bigguns do because they can increase the framerates to match their heightened perspectives (unmodified a movie, to a fey, would just be a series of stills). This is the main reason why the Seelie and Unseelie are so radically different in their worldviews.

Yeah, I guess the "Unseelie explorers" don't make much sense. Maybe just a bodyguard or some such when getting tech stuff in dangerous areas?

That sounds reasonable. The character is accepted of course, I'll add him to our cast list soon.
The Empire State Building 'The Spire'

On the observation deck of the empire state building tourists jostled and pressed against the fence that separated them from an 800 foot fall to asphalt oblivion. On the edge of that precipitous drop beyond view of the mortals just an arm length away, a crude crack in the concrete formed a jagged doorway. Through it flitted something no bigger than a horse fly, but it was no insect. The tiny creature with pointed ears and sky blue skin dashed with glitter was a pixie, a fairy messenger on dragonfly wings. It dove through the crack with room to spare and followed the jagged tunnel past the guards who buzzed their wings and lifted their toothpick lances in greeting.

Pressed for time, the pixie could not offer his kith any acknowledgement except a tilt of his wings as he darted onward. Beyond the guards the dark concrete cave filled with light before opening not from the surface of some biggun-built skyscraper, but rather natural granite mountain side. Bursting fourth in all the color and vibrance of a painter's dream, a lush valley expanded out below the rock slopes, another world forged by the magic of the fairy. A midst its greenery no evidence of the human world, its iron, steel and disbelief, was visible, just untainted nature and impossible architecture. At the center of this hidden paradise, a building that only a madman's imagination could erect, thrust up at the artificial sun. In contrast to the enchanted valley, the spire stood dark and brooding, forged of black stone and shrouded in storm clouds that hovered just above its jagged point. The spire was a singular nightmare surrounded by a dream.

On his straight course to the Spire's serrated apex the pixie passed squads of his own kind training in their wedge formations as well as Sidhe nobility and Sprite courtesans enjoying the enclave's perpetual spring day. All gave him a wide berth, even the Sidhe who recognized the crescent eye on his tunic, their countess's coat of arms. Under the shadow of the Spire's clouds all was silent and still and the pixie found himself holding his breath until he remembered that even in this dreamlike place he needed oxygen. He dared not catch his breath, however, until he landed at his destination. He fluttered to a stop upon a narrow balcony ringing the palatial quarters. Despite being perched high above everything in this dreamworld, he was not alone.

"No need to rush," Lady Nyora assured him in between her thoughtful marital poses. The young sidhe often used the high platform to practice her swordplay and as such her graceful sweeps and parries were a familiar sight to the lowly messenger. Scarlet hair streaming between emerald wings, she stepped and glided lightly across the black stone on bare feet, thrusting and chopping at monsters her high rank prevented her from ever facing in the flesh. "She's been in her sanctum for nearly a day working on some kind of summons." She swept her glittering dreamblade about in a shining arc. "Probably another one of those ugly gargoyles."

"My apologies my lady," the pixie sputtered, "but the message is urgent. It concerns... security at the upcoming ball."

"Security?" Nyora, whose interest in social affairs normally stopped before it began, snatched at the scroll. The pixie twiddled his thumbs nervously as the young hier to the realm unrolled the parchment and read the contents. Her eyes suddenly sparkled to match her blade. "I need you to carry another message," she spoke attention still locked on the scroll.

"To whom, my lady?"

"To the our seamstress. Tell her I'll be needing a suitable gown by this evening." She made a quick study of her sword's brightly colored scabbard, "something that matches with pink."

@neko Good to have you.

@Pathfinder Well you knocked that out of the park. I love how you build on the world and make a unique character who does not necessarily fit stereotype while simultaneously remaining true to the world. The only thing I'm a bit fuzzy on are these 'Unseelie explorers.' Also love the incorporation of x-acto knives as an improvised sword. Totally would not have thought of that. As an interesting side note they are produced using steel folding techniques similar to those used to make traditional samuri swords so this works on multiple levels.

@All At this point I think we'll go the faction road and I'll find a way to make it work irregardless of how many players we get because I don't want to force everyone to choose one faction.
@All Couple edits to the mainpage

1) PCs will automatically get one rank in their specie's unique glamer.

2) I made 'enclave' the standard term for extradimensional fairy lands, though, the terms 'pocket', 'fold', and 'brane' will still be used by many more informal speakers.

I also made an interest thread on general to see if we could not get some more players. I feel like I did not convey the epic awesomeness of this world in my original thread, so hopefully I did a better job this time around. Or maybe I'm the only one who thinks a mortal duel between two fairy knights with swords fashioned from letter openers is epic. This is possible.
Trying to start up a highly unique fairy tale RP along the lines of movies like Epic and the Borrowers where the PCs play small fairies (a couple inches tall in most cases) who live below the notice of humans in a slightly futuristic New York City. They survive by feeding off the creative energies of humans and use it to power their magics, called glamers. Some are technofairies who scavenge ('borrrow') human technology like smart phones and jury rig them to suit their purposes. Others are staunch conservatives who hold firm to the feudal traditions of the fairy. This is a game on a truly tiny scale where epic sword fights will range across desktops and archers will string their paperclip bows with rubber bands. I really want this vision of grandiose fantasy on a miniature scale to come to life but we need more players. If this concept interests you, check out the game thread. There is a truly massive amount of content to explore and use in designing your character, the most I've ever cranked out for a forum game and equal in scope to a tabletop sourcebook.

@Avery That looks good. Remember, though, just because the Djinn are inspired by and have inspired Middle Eastern culture does not mean they need to be an exact copy. Some aspects of their own lifestyle can and should be quite alien. Looking at the character, I've decided to change the rules so each character start's off with an automatic rank in their specie's unique glamer. I also added the name of the djinn glamer, smokeless flame. Naaru-s-samuum is the best translation to Arabic that I could find online. Not 100% sure of it.
@Quarthax Everything looks good except the pictures which are not humanoid. If you want that anthro look then you need to go for a puca and if the pictures don't fit the character then just don't use them. Pic is optional for this reason.
Looks very interesting.

Question: Is the Frankenstein mythology playing a part in this story and if so, is Frankenstein somehow related to the Engineers?

If I'm verging on spoiler territory feel free not to answer.
