Bio

Roleplay addict, I work two jobs which unfortunately cuts back on my roleplay time.

In my limited free time I GM one ONLY WAR tabletop game, play a shopaholic Zeltron in a Star Wars game, and try to resist the urge to write long stories as the aftermath usually plunges me into a dark and unhappy depressed state.

Or maybe that's normal!

It seems we're light on Beta wolves at the moment.

I can switch Ryan over to balance the pack out a bit more if that'll fit the narrative better.
Am I allowed to join this as a human?

Because I am very interested in this. Yess, very interested.

Dooooooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

You know you want to!!!!!!! XD
Name: Ryan Jameson

Age: 27

Appearance: (image or description is fine)
Cannot get images to work (>.<), so I'll just say 6-foot-3, 150 lbs. Dark brown hair cut short on the sides, Ryan is dressed in Midwestern jeans and tees from the thrift shop.

Human, werewolf, or hunter?: Beta Werewolf

Background:
The son of a rancher father and a stay-at-home mom, Ryan Jameson grew up with the sun over his head and the wind at his back while mom and dad tried to bring him up right. Hard work was rewarded and good behavior would be noticed out in the real world, they said. So when dad took mom out to Topeka for an anniversary, they had no qualms about leaving their son to watch the house for a night. And when Ryan found a large dog in one of the newer remote-controlled coyote traps, he did what his dad taught him to: keep it locked up and wait for dad to grab his gun and take care of it.

When he heard other dogs howling on his way back to the house, Ryan didn't pay it no mind. Figured the strays would run together.

Of course, when he got to the front porch of the house and felt himself tackled and bit into by a pair of other dogs, he straight up lost it. And when the dogs coordinated to drag him into the fields, he passed out from fear.

After which he promptly awoke in the basement of another house (later learned to be the suburbs of Topeka). The Alpha of the pack didn't appreciate being caught in a common animal trap, making him look like a fool to his Betas. And he sure as hell didn't like being left out there until Ryan's "dear daddy" came back to put a bullet in his brain like he did to the pack's number three Beta last full moon. So he did Ryan the pleasure of informing him the pup would be taking the Beta's place.

It was a rough crowd at first, but Ryan took to the job of being a Beta with natural ease. He wasn't able to watch the news and see the search effort his parents lead, but it was probably for the better. The bony, pimply faces on milk cartons and the cable networks were much more different than his new, muscular and lean look the wolf in him brought out. Maybe it was Stockholm Syndrome, or maybe it was just a new love for his supernatural life, but after the first year Ryan didn't think about reaching out to his family again. Probably for the best; his dad was crucified by the media as an irresponsible parent and locked up under suspicion of murdering his own son, and his mom offed herself not long after under the media scrutiny.

After a few years, Ryan started to flex his legs and leverage his status as a dominant Beta for more freedom. The Topeka Alpha, Jared Wilks, resisted and kept Ryan on a tight leash to keep the Betas in line and prevent an insurrection, but when Mori the Alpha came to town, things changed right quick.

She ran with Topeka for a couple of days before realizing what was going on: a pack with twenty wolves wasn't the norm in her travels. Jared added a new wolf to his pack every year, while another easily wouldn't live through the change. Mori saw this wasn't going to last forever- sooner or later a Hunter would catch on and come to town and clean house. So she did the only sensible thing she could think of. She kicked the shit out of Jared and scattered the pack by force. Ryan, not sure what to do without his Alpha to follow, took to following Mori out West to Cali.

Moving out to California, Ryan hasn't fully integrated with the new pack. He keeps to himself, working at the last bar in town, "The Backhouse," as a mixer. California hasn't been the land of milk and honey he hoped it would be, but he's started seeing a human by the name of Michael on his nights off. The budding relationship between Ryan and Michael is a source of potential conflict for the pack- Ryan hasn't told Michael what he does on his "Fishing Trips" during the full moon, and Ryan has gotten overly aggressive whenever the subject of turning Michael to keep pack secrecy has been brought up...

The Topeka Alpha, Jared Wilks, resisted and kept Ryan on a tight leash to keep the Betas in line and prevent an insurrection, but finally gave in and traded Ryan out to the Greyville pack for a fertile female after learning Ryan wasn't interested in breeding a new generation of pups. His interests lay elsewhere, and that didn't sit well with some of the other Betas in Kansas.

@Trinais I've added the setting! I like the 'Yes, and' idea, but I think I'll change it to relation the the alphas, once they have their sheets up.

Coolness! Thanks for both! I'll have a CS up ASAP, KK?
I'm still interested but may I make a request and a suggestion?

Request: Can you tell us the name and State of the town and just something about what it's like there? Would help a ton in building my CS.

Suggestion: Something I do at the start of every tabletop game I run is make my players play "Yes, and" to tie the characters together. I would suggest adding "Yes, and" to the CS and every player tie their character to someone else's CS above theirs.

Example:

Player 1: I'm a pirate who is hunting for treasure, and I took this ship from the last captain in a mutiny!

Player 2: Yes, and I'm your crazy first mate who you rescued at sea!

Player 3: Yes, and I'm the lookout on the ship who's been with the captain since he mutinied over the LAST captain and spotted the first mate on his deserted island!
I'd call it a "Deus ex Un-split-the-party" XD
Okay. But is there a dedicated NPC villain, like a rival pack leader or something, run by you the GM to keep the action flowing if nobody volunteers to play a Hunter?
*Raises Hand*

Interested!

But quick question: Do you have an established villain and a specific setting (town/city) in mind?
I started the original Angels in Arcadia thread a while back, but I've been sorely tempted to recreate it.

The premise is relatively simple: Each writer plays a human and an Angel character. You human is assigned to someone else's angel, and your angel is assigned to someone else's human. Humans act as an angel's anchor on Earth, letting them use their powers to fight demons while being the source of intrigue and investigation. The Angels will act as enforcers and be the source of action.

Plot Premise
Arcadia, Louisiana has seen better days. A sleepy southern town on the Gulf coast, it was completely devastated by the BP oil spill that tainted so much of the ocean. Tourism dried up and never returned, forcing most of the people who lived there to pack up and move to the cities. To make matters worse, the oil never truly went away. It's been seeping into the ponds and streams around the town, slowly getting into the drinking wells. Anyone that drinks it goes completely and utterly batshit- speaking in tongues, suffering seizures, and having a general psychotic break from reality.

Your Human character is one of the few unlucky ones left in the town that, for one reason or another hasn't left. One of your close friends from school, Bill Finnley, drank from a tainted fountain in gym class before succumbing to the oil's effects. You've seen firsthand what this stuff does to people, and crude oil doesn't do that. And by the way, who's the strange guy in the suit and tie you've seen walking around Main Street at night?

Your Angel character has been called in to Arcadia because he/she/it knows a hint of what's really going on here. Crude oil doesn't drive humans insane after drinking it. But Demon's blood does. First thing's first, you'll need to find a human anchor that will let you manifest your powers on this plane, and then get to work cleaning up the town...
