Bio

Roleplay addict, I work two jobs which unfortunately cuts back on my roleplay time.

In my limited free time I GM one ONLY WAR tabletop game, play a shopaholic Zeltron in a Star Wars game, and try to resist the urge to write long stories as the aftermath usually plunges me into a dark and unhappy depressed state.

Or maybe that's normal!

Rumiko, Toska: Accepted! Welcome aboard!
Alexander paused a moment, giving First Engineer Briggs his full attention as she emerged on deck. A bit rough around the edges. But by all accounts, she knew her machines and that was all he needed of her. He glanced at the cigar, noting the band around its center. Jamaican. British made.

"Engineer Briggs," he said. "The Pegasus is not outfitted like any other brig. We have a wooden frame, but the iron plates added to the hull increase our weight exponentially. Unfortunately, the construction crew did not increase our coal storage to compensate. The Crown has dispatched a 'First Rate' magician to keep the engines running in the event we burn through our coal too quickly. I trust you will work well with this one? If there are any disagreements, it could send all of us to the bottom of the sea."

The rivalry between the 'gearheads' and 'mystics' in the Royal Military Academy was already legendary. It was always the case when the old clashed with the new, but magicians normally served on the Men o War of the fleet, and engineers stuck to the brigs and frigates. This would probably be the first time the two would be expected to work in tandem with one another...
With an almost uncanny sixth sense, Alexander detected the salutes behind him and turned to face Garret and Hal. Returning the gesture, he said "Gentlemen. The airships below are experimental, as you probably surmised. The Royal Navy could've had a frigate for the cost of the lot of them. What you do on this mission will determine whether production proceeds or not. I will not be able to give direct commands in the heat of battle, so I will expect you to use your best judgement when engaging the enemy- if we engage the enemy at all."

Nodding at engineer Briggs he said "Our chief engineer will be able to offer you assistance in any retrofits you'd like to make to improve the craft- if you ask her nicely."
I haven't read through all the posts I missed while I was sick, so I can't really say :-/ And alas, heading to bed for work in the morning. I'll check this when I wake up!
I imagine the "modern automatons looking like the second image. Original automatons (say, made in the late 1700s) would be almost skeletal, front line troops immune to musket fire but still clumsy and requiring assistance. Of course, war has sped up research and development, as it often has...
R: Tech level is acceptable, but I think I'll let you use your discretion. An experimental fighter craft may or may not be able to carry all of those weapons, but it doesn't mean it can't have the capability to USE all those weapons.

Spriggs: All crewmembers will have been given instructions on where to find the ship on the Thames and a time to report in. The captain is on the forecastle near the helm, in his dress uniform. Feel free to arrive in whatever fashion you like- since you're the engineer, I don't think it'd be too much to say you're already aboard making last minute tweaks to the engines. I definitely envision writers pairing up so that we can constantly have interactions going.
Looking forward to it Vale!
R: Everything looks great! The plane design is a bit advanced for my tastes but that's ok. I do want to say that, going forward, fighter craft are still very experimental in this universe. So while Garrett may have served with a squadron by this time, I would like to establish a tone of the Royal Navy not sure if the fighter craft are worth the investment of, say, a frigate. Garrett's job is to prove that he's worth it :D

Everyone: Please feel free to post in the main thread with your characters arriving. I would like to have at least one post with Alexander meeting each of you so we can establish the tone of their interactions going forward. Also, I'm adding one more minor section to the CS (nationality). Happy posting!
Thanks Spiggs! I'm putting those in right now :)
Gracias!
Blasted thing!

It's on the second page of casual RP. Sorry :/
