I intended to add more to the intro post, but I had to run my dad to get his truck from the shop - so I decided to end it with sort of a cliff hanger. Anyway, Everyone should make their intro about their current status in Denver. In my next post I will add in where some of my characters will go out and look for supplies without getting caught by the military. This is how all the characters will meet and interact.
Last Life - Chapter 1: Kill or Turn

A bedroom door cracked open and two silhouetted shadows slipped inside a vacant room. There was a long window with white, transparent drapes and boards nailed all the way up the wall to prevent anything from getting in. Candles lined up on an antique dresser against the window were the only light source that existed inside. There was a bed with an old handmade quilt with three stitched pillow cases with feather pillows inside them. From the look of it, a teenage boy sat down on the bed and looked up at another man who did not sit. There was a long pause of silence before the man in his mid-twenties spoke up, "What is it, J?"

"Remember how things were before mom and dad and Laina turned?" The "boy" spoke, but his voice was slightly off. It became silent again and the mid-twenty year old walked over to sit on the bed. The light the man had been blocking made the teen on the bed more visible, and it revealed that the boy on the bed was in actuality a girl. The jacket and ripped shorts she wore were far from feminine however. She wore no make-up, and the wounded expression she had on her face was similar to that a guy would make when troubled. Her eyebrows furrowed and she just sat there gazing off into the darkest part of the room - waiting on the man to respond.

The handsome man in his mid-twenties just nodded his head. "Yeah, I do." He half whispered in the dark. His well fit, muscular build underneath his t-shirt was apparent in the candle light. The flames of the candles reflected in his deep brown eyes as he placed them upon the tomboy. He could tell that something was wrong and that something was bothering her badly. He had a feeling that reminiscing on good times wasn't truly what she wanted to talk about. He assured her, "It's always best to be present. Looking back will only make things worse."

"What if I can't stop remembering?" The girl called J asked.

"You have to try or else the good memories will haunt you almost as bad as the sad ones. The world is not the same. Remembering how the world was before and imagining how our lives would be if the outbreak hadn't started will only depress you." The man was beginning to jump to conclusions, because his curiosity of what she wanted to tell him was getting the best of him.

"Yeah, but it's way worse now." J said with a pissed off tone. "I use to be fine, but now I'm fucked up." Her fists were clenched tight, and she bit the inside of her cheek in order to distract her mind from the inner pain that was tormenting her. The dark concealed the tears that tried to swell in her eyes, but she wouldn't let them spill. She'd be damned if she let them fall.

"We're all affected by what happened. You're not alone Joan." The man called her by her real name now.

"Nah, you don't fucking get it Josef. There's more to it." J said jumping up from the bed with an angry voice. "Yeah we all feel it, but I'm going through much worse." She looked around the room quickly as if she was looking for something to break.

"What is bothering you? I'm not going to keep sitting here while you beat around the bush. Tell me what I don't get?" The man now known as Josef asked. Josef could see that she was clearly upset now, and he wasn't sure what the hell was going on.

J dropped her head and stuffed both fists into her pocket. The room grew completely quiet, before she finally spoke, "Laina wasn't bitten." J bit the inside of her cheek even harder until she could taste the blood before she continued, "I killed her."
Ataela means lady in Echlyn btw -
Kaga said Brushing shrubs and low-lying branches out of her way, her jaw dropped when she spotted the second wyvern waddling along the ground, with two humans walking in its shadow. “Are… are those your's?” she asked in wonder, pointing to the wyvern ahead of her and the one in the sky. “That’s… that’s amazing!!” she exclaimed. Sword and Shield Knights notwithstanding, she hadn’t seen a domesticated Draconide since she was a little girl. Excitedly, she ran towards the group, but hesitated as she got close, not sure how these men, or their wyvern, felt about strangers. “Does… does he have a name?” she asked, hardly taking her eyes off the beast.

"Morning young ataela." Uorin greeted the unknown girl that ran up to them. He waited for her to finish shooting all of her questions before continuing, "Yes, they're both mine. I own many of their kind. Raised these two since they were hatchlings." Uorin dropped his hand into a pouch attached to his belt and brought out a handful of lengthy worm like organisms that were as thin as spaghetti noodles. He lifted the worms to his black wyvern and watched as the wyvern devoured them in a matter of seconds with his elongated beak. "This is Krixyth." Just as Uorin introduced the wyvern, the winged monster flung out it's wings and shrieked noisely. The black wyvern swirled into the air and glided around the group. Krixyth showed off it's massive wing span and swooped down to reclaim it's place beside Uorin. "And his hard headed brother is Skreyvur." The dark green wyvern finally landed beside Krixyth, but kept his wings open to reveal black coloring on the underside of his wings. Aleksu stayed quiet, because he didn't know what to say to the girl. She sounded much younger than him and most teens her age would just ignore him or ask him indecent questions about his blindness. He just stood there and smiled slightly, not at her, but because his orange snake was tickling his neck with a split tongue.
I have a research paper and a cause and effect essay that I have to complete + finals coming up. I'll keep everyone updated like I said before, but don't be discouraged about staying on board. It won't be much longer.
Well, I was going to get the Ic up tonight, but my laptop has been crashing and saying that I need to replace my battery. Pretty pissed, so I'll be back on tomorrow after lunch sometime. If I feel in the mood to post after work then we'll finally get things rolling.

Last Life - Part 1

Back when I was sane, brain eaters were absent from everyone's awareness and most of us took our normal lives for granted. Those dead shits ruined a lot of things and they took over so easily. Ya see, people are so use to being safe that they forget that tragic things can happen unexpectedly. When people started to change, no one knew how to react and some mindless idiots even turned on each other. My dad guessed it was some sort of chemical attack from a third world country, but the government couldn't figure out who to blame. People accused government testing gone wrong for the spreading disease, because the president had no answer. Everyone thought that the government was trying to hide their mistake, until we found out that it was an international epidemic. States were quarantined and people were held against their will inside their own homes. That's when something very fucked up happened. Word got around that government officials and even the president evacuated the country, because the virus was getting out of hand. Ever since then, the military has become selfish, dicks who abuse their authority I heard. Most don't even know how many of us are left, because even those who die without physical infection come back with a hunger for living flesh. The bastard terrorists have attacked often thinking America was to blame. Our own kind are killing each other out of confusion and assumption and their kind just keep growing. Feeding. My brother Josef showed us a way out of this shitty place after my foster parents and sister died a few days ago....It still hasn't hit me yet that they are really gone. I refuse to believe they are dead, but I can still feel an intense pain eating at my core that makes it impossible to fool myself even how hard I try. Our brother-n-law, Nathan, is along with us too. I use to hate his guts, but now I don't, because I've done something that could make him want to kill me if he knew. Something I can't even forgive myself for. I've tried to kill my sorry piece of shit self for awhile now, but I can't bring myself to finish. I should try one last time, because we're all just going to die anyway. They'll find out what I did in time. For now, my brothers and I found a place near the mountains here in Colorado where we can survive for the time being. It's nothin special, but it sure beats living in the hell hole that my sister use to call home. - J

Rakkety Tam said Just a quick Q to true self, would Auri and Maya have been able to hear the commotion with wyverns?

That's possible and fine with me, though, Aleksu won't be staying near the outskirts of the village for long until he's ready to venture out again.
I might allow room for one more. Get in a character sheet and I'll look it over :P There is a possibility that you will be put on a waiting list, because I'm not completely set on allowing more than 4 other members to join besides myself.
