You're an interesting species. An interesting mix. You're capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you're not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other.
Thanks!

Starting Date and Time: 4th day of Ceruleo, 300 DM, Midday

Starting Location: Somewhere along the road between Ruby Banks and Azure Strand

CS URLs: Trix & Ember

It was the second day of traveling for the blonde herbalist and her pups. She tried to visit another of the villages at least once per season, and this time, she was en route to Azure Strand. She'd probably reach it by tomorrow, going a slower pace so as to not wear out Remus and Remilia. It was cold out, her cloak tight around her shoulders. There was no snow yet down this way, though she'd heard Silent Rise, Stone Crest, and the capital had all gotten a nice blanket. She didn't overly care for the cold, but she did like snow, it made everything so crisp and clean. The pups weren't phased, they were made for the mountains after all. They'd guarded her bunk quite dutifully in the Fat Barrel Inn. It was run by a retired Knight, as all the inns along the Warden's Road were. They'd set them up specifically for travelers, spacing them out so each was roughly a day's walk from the previous inn, or the nearest village.

She found herself wishing there was another group or caravan traveling this way. She knew that this deep into the empire, she was pretty safe from bandits and Screamers, but it was still dangerous, in her mind at least, to travel alone. But not many people made their way to Azure Strand, it was the poorest of the villages, provided the least use to the Knights. They were just lucky that they were close to the capital to receive the benefits and protection. Trix was hoping she could find some suppliers of herbs found around the coast, or even beneath the waters.

The road led up a small cresting hill, when Trix noticed some birds flying in circles ahead. She couldn't quite tell what type they were, but she assumed something had died up that way. Probably just an injured horse that was put down. As she reached the top of the hill, she was able to see the carnage before her, her stomach already rolling. Her pups began growling defensively, backing up closer to her, on full alert.

At the bottom of the hill, stretched over many yards, were horses, knights, and others dead or dying. The air was heavy with the scent of blood, that metallic taste worming its way into her mouth. Her stomach was rolling, and she felt the panic setting in. It was just like the Knight's Tournament last season. Her chest was tight now, her breathing fast. She closed her eyes, trying to focus on her breathing, in through her nose, out through mouth, over and over again. When she felt somewhat calmed down, she opened her eyes again, surveying the area once more. She was a healer, she needed to see if there were any survivors, anyone she could possibly save.

Moving quickly, she arrived at the first person, a man in Ebonsteel armor, an unranked knight from the look of it. His eyes were closed, a massive gash in his neck, his face pale from the lack of blood. She touched his cheek, her pups fanning out around her, standing guard, watching all sides. The cheek was still warm, still had give. He was definitely dead, but she was fairly certain it hadn't been long. Looking up from his corpse, she realized this was going to take a while. Hopefully some other knights would be along, either when this squadron didn't arrive at their destination, or the next patrol happened to arrive. Then Remilia began barking at something. Trix looked at the pup, seeing her facing the direction of Azure Strand, another small hill blocking the vision of the road further on.

Twhirtley's Personal Tips

1) Use same shampoo and conditioner you use on your head, on your beard. This makes it softer and reduces split ends.
2) Let the beard grow out for a month or two before you even consider carving a neckline.
3) No need to really carve cheek lines, just keep them cleaned up at their natural level.
4) Boar Hair Brushes are the best.
5) Beard oils increase softness and help with straightening and shaping, plus good scents.
6) Staying hydrated and well nourished (aka vitamins/healthy diet) helps keep your beard healthy.

Adding Richard Armitage aka Thorin Oakenshield per private request
Lumbersexual - A person who is only attracted to those with extremely impressive facial hair (like a lumberjack)

Pogonophile - The love of, or attraction to, beards

So, for a few friends of mine, I'm making this thread for all things beards. Post anything beard related herein. Good beards, bad beards, beard tips, beard supplies, self pics, whatever. Just make it beard related.

This is currently a work in progress, but I imagine it will fill out nicely... just like a good beard.

And here's the after pic of Movember, taken moments before a haircut, and shortly thereafter a beard trimming

Here's the pic after the haircut and beard trimming

She rolled her eyes, clearly agitated, "Everyone knows Aaenshi are skittish and distrusting. It's as much a part of them as being flea riddled. What I didn't expect was for the Charr to coming running to mommy with a mouse, thinking it a gift." She softened when she saw his companion though, a Scream Raptor. She moved toward it, hands out, body language suddenly much calmer. She always had a soft spot for reptilian beasts like herself.

"She's beautiful, what do you call her? How long have you had her? So rare to see them away from the plains." She moved closer, and patted the critter on the neck, nuzzling it, rubbing its leathery hide. "I apologize for my insult. And yes, there is a reason, a very important one, and it might already be too late. She... I don't know if she has long."

She turned away after pressing her nose to the creature's stout, having the slightest of smiles. "We need to get ready. Too important to do this half-cocked." With that she left.

Approaching the 12th Stretch...

Kladissa sat in her custom saddle, atop her large lizard. The pale woman was atop a simple brown horse, the Aaenshi atop a wolf. Kladissa was busy watching the rust red bears roam around behind their wooden fences. They were much smaller than their wild counterparts, but that was to be expected. When their final member arrived, she spoke to the group, "We ride fast and hard. It took me three days of winding paths, on foot, to find it. We can easily reach it by nightfall, stick to my lead, keep the gaps close. Remember, this will be in Screamer territory."

With that, she whipped her reins, and her lizard bolted forward in a surprising burst of speed. The trees shot past, and every so often they saw an individual sentry or patrolling company of Knights, until after a couple stretches of hard riding, the crossed a large fallen tree that passed over a small river, barely more than a large creek, signalling the end of Ebonfort territory. The path began sloping a bit southward from their westerly approach, the trees growing smaller, as they grew closer and closer to the Valley of the Screamers.

Kladissa was too focused on being fast and direct, she didn't hear the bird calls. The sounds themselves were normal enough, but the frequency in the replies were far more akin to conversations between men than birds. She continued forward, clouded by emotions and a singular task.
Alright now that I'm back into the swing of things, time to do a few matchmaking things and stuffs!

First - My character Trix is in Ruby Banks (though can travel) would love to meet, or meet again, anyone in the realm (preferably in a timeslot before the Quests start).

Second - My new character Raffey will be joining the New Vircastoria Quest when I get that started, but can RP with anyone beforehand in Scream Watch.

Third - I'd love to see more RPs between y'alls characters, or with my two lovely Co-GMs doing GM roles.

Fourth - Both Quests will be starting very soon. VERY SOON.
The Aaenshi growled lightly at the Charr's challenging statement, though it was true, he had no intention of following the snake woman. He downed his drink and huffed his way out of the bar, clearly agitated. That simply left the pale woman sitting on her balanced chair. She continued drinking, chuckling to herself at the antics of her partners.

Kladissa continued alone, passing the various leather shops and ranches, having long since detected the footfalls behind her, keeping pace with her. She could tell from the softer sounds of them, the fact that they weren't clumsy from drinking, that it wasn't one of the other refused men. Too heavy to be the Aaenshi, not careful enough to be the pale woman's, so it must be the Charr. She stopped and turned toward him, her eyes a bit more pained than before, "Do you have more questions or something? I think we both have preparations to do." She was clearly wearing a fragile facade, that grew more steely with each passing moment.

Her face was growing intense, almost angry, "Well? Spit it out."
