"Yes, b-but...it doesn't really matter. I still have t-to make it through s-somehow..." As much as he couldn't stand this, he knew that he had no other choice at this point. He was stuck here now, after all, and he doubted that anyone would be helping him any time soon.

"three more" the creature says evenly, not giving any explanation to why it said it before immediately asking "if i were to give you help, what would you ask for? knowledge, defense, or offense?"

Still scared, Stefan keeps a hand on the dagger's hilt. "S-Stefan," he answers, wondering what will happen to him now. Why would this creature want to know his name? Should he even have told it? He couldn't fail already! His sister would be waiting for him at home, so he had to survive somehow...

"are you scared of me stefan?" it asks, not seeming to care whether his name is true or not by the lack of pause between questions. it still speaks evenly, not really trying to dissuade his fear or calm his troubled mind at all

Stefan's eyes widen, and he works hard to bite back a scream. The closing off of the path does nothing to relieve his fear, but he realizes that there is nothing else to do but face whatever is in the room. Turning towards the creature, he places his hands on the hilt of the dagger in case he needs to defend himself. Shaking at the terrifying sight in front of him, it takes a moment for him to find his voice. "I...I came to help my sister...Sh-she's sick...a-and I need to become a knight s-so my parents can take care of her..."

the creature hesitates as it just stares at him, seeming to read him for a while before judging him to not be lying and saying "that is a noble undertaking for one so young... what is your name child?" it speaks evenly still, doing nothing to try to calm him or dissuade his fear

John looks at his gloved hand, confused. He didn't remember putting it on. But he figures that this is the challenge his father was talking about on the way to the forest. John grips the dagger, ready to draw it at a moments notice. He looks around the room and sees a tunnel. He immediately begins hopping from rock to rock, making a game not to touch the roots. He eventually reaches the tunnel and slowly steps in, careful not to set off any traps like the ones in the tunnels of his father's castle.

as he steps in he triggers a trip wire and feels the wind and hears the sound of darts hitting the wall just slightly in front of him and to the right, coming from three mouths to his left and forward a little

Crow stood and dusted himself off going into the next room and examining everything around him

((again, you're sort of just leaving vanity))

he finds it to be a room of mirrors with a sword in the middle. the way he came in shuts behind him as he enters and one of his reflections asks "why are you here?" in his own voice as it seems to be wearing a mask, plain and white with a single black mark on the forehead

The glowing staff is kind of pretty, and Stefan feels that it will be helpful, so he holds on to it. Deciding that it would be best to get moving, he walks cautiously into the tunnel, wary of any kind of danger he may find there. He looks around at all the carvings all over the walls and ceiling, though he has to be careful not to trip on the uneven tiles. The depictions are attention-catching for his curious young eyes.

he finds himself easily able to avoid the traps with even the little caution he's displayed and soon finds himself in a room with a large creature made of skeletons sitting in the middle. the way behind him closes as he enters and the creature shifts, asking directly into his mind with a whisper "so child. what brings you to my domain? answer carefully, because one lie and i'll kill you". it seems to speak in an even tone, even as it says it will kill him, as if it doesn't care at all whether he lives or dies

Stefan sits up slowly, his hand going to his neck to clasp the locket his sister gave him. It feels comforting in this strange place, a reminder of why he is here and why he has to do his best. Looking around the room, he notices the burlap pouch near where his head was before. He goes to pick it up, when he feels the sheath of the dagger in his belt. He draws it and looks at it for a moment, examining the blade. His mother had never allowed him near knives or blades of any sword, but his father had let him play with his own knife when she wasn't looking. He had said that Stefan would need to learn how to use one someday, anyhow. It was odd to think that day had come so quickly. At this time, Stefan had no idea whether this was a particularly well crafted blade or not, but it was a knife all the same, so he would use it to the best of his ability and hope that was enough. Returning the dagger to its sheath, he finally picks up the pouch, examining its contents. After reviewing what he had, he places the water skin in the pouch with the rest of the objects, as he didn't want to lose it. He stands to examine the room further, but stops when he notices the staff-like object. He picks it up to examine it, wondering what it is for.

the staff seems to glow with a faint, light blue light at his touch, the same color of sorceries. he finds a tunnel leading out of the room but the tiles are uneven and there are carvings on the walls and ceilings

((lol here ill reply for you))

Crow couldnt reach his sister it seemed there was something blocking the gems way of connecting to its other half.. crow then sat infront of the statue and was ready to undergo any torture that would happen to see if he was worthy to move on

the pressure plate triggers, spewing him with with a foul smelling smoke from the statue's mouth, choking him slightly but something on his face seems to assist in dispersing it. a grate at the end of the room opens, allowing him passage to the next room

Crow held onto the weird gemstone hanging around his neck and tried to communicate with his sister through it
Vanity was sitting in the room completely oblivious as to what was going on

((don't really know how to reply to that...))
vanity finds a dull, ordinary steel sword stuck fast in a stone pedestal at the center of the room with various bones and rusty weapons scattered around the room, all of them human

((sorry i get carried away with myself when i try to make points.... i apologize for acting in a way that i absolutly hate))

Crow would stand before the statue and immediatly figure it was a puzzle as he would start to search the area around it for any clues.

((it's fine and i understand... i'm not exactly easy to get along with due to various social/mental problems so i've made a statement about it in the ooc... anyway, vanity's still just sort of hanging there....))

he finds it to be a fairly barren room, but he finds bones in the corners, as if being attempted to be hidden, but with no where to store them in the rather barren room they were just hidden in the shadows. an engraving on the pedestal reads "here lies the test of faith. kneel and prove thyself"
