No, I call serious bullshit on this. I've been pushed under in a pool. I wasn't prepared for it, and I couldn't breathe. But I could still think. And I don't know about you, but to Jake magic is second nature. Teleporting things is as easy as thinking about teleporting things. It's not something you learn, or an acquired skill. It's an instinctive thing in your genetic code. You may have your magic differ from this, but Jake uses magic instinctively, and once he feels in danger, he teleports away. Kind of like how you pull back your hand reflexively when you touch something that burns you, except he pulls it back into another dimension. And we weren't talking about Jake, we were talking about the chronomage. While I call bullshit on the whole "lack of breath=lack of magic" think, the chronomage could defeat Yssmir with ease.

fine, but the fact that i can actually fuck with your brain kinda makes the argument invalid >.> anyway.... pretty much everyone on here is op if their powers are used right... especially jake since he effectivly can't be hurt by anyone that can't disable magic in some way... also, i've been under the water too, it wasn't so bad, kinda relaxing really until he put his feet on my shoulders... then i was a wee bit pissed...

because it can be applyed in slow increments by gradually increasing the volume at a subsonic level that can actually blow your head up if it goes too far :3 also, i'm saying an average dude being forced to win a chess match while he's being choked the fuck out by an mma fighter would be the equivalent of casting even the weakest fire ball... and translocation magic is very complex and difficult to do even with your char's training... simply put: when the nigga starts getting chocked the fuck out by shit he can't fucking see then he can't do shit

forgive me... the black in me was just held back from chocking a bitch... *coughs a bit before righting myself*

Not really. When choking, you're applying physical force. While being incapable to breathe is quite certainly disturbing and shocking, unless you're close to suffocation, you'll still be able to think relatively clearly, esspecially if you've been trained to do so. Furthermore, how is your magic supposed to be stealthy if it makes people unable to breathe? I don't know about you, but if I couldn't breathe, I'd notice.

Not breathing..... prevents magic? How does that work?!

you ever tried to play chess while getting choked the fuck out by an mma fighter? that would be the equivalent....

Alright. However, if we're going by the assumption that pain causes people to be unable to use magic, then that applies to your character as well.Effectively, whomever attacks first wins, because it's so easy to neutralize someone's magic, and once you have, you've won.

not really, i did some studying (i know! i can read :D! but seriously) and i could directly affect someone's brain without them noticing until they were near dead (or when they tried to cast spells and they failed) and it's not pain, it was the fact that he wouldn't have been able to breath....

Basically, you're saying you can instantly neutralize anyone's magic? And I'm not whining, I'm just pointing out that this character could end all life on earth with a snap of his fingers.

pretty much, but i'm not gonna go into detail other than to say that both chars are massively op but both were accepted :P

He already knows everything Ysmir is going to do. Remember?

not quite. the char was gifted with time travel not fortune seeing. in order for him to see what will happen then he'd have to travel forward in time in either case he'd still lose because he wouldn't know what the fuck is going on or why he can't use magic or why does his head feel like exploding.... you whine about how op the chronomancy is but you underestimate the power of sound as a weapon

Not really. You even so much as start using magic, and he's in a different time, and you're dead. And through harnessing time, he can quite easily freeze you in time, or reverse the time on his organs, healing them. Even if you destroy the heart, it's 16 seconds to brain death on average, giving him sufficient time to simply travel back in time. Furthermore, he's been in the future. Thus, if you ever planned to kill him, he already knows, and he'll have taken preparations.

false! by the time he notices that he's fighting he won't be able to use magic... i'm surprised you underestimate ysmir so much... and besides, ysmir's magic can go unnoticed until it's too late and then he'll be left defenseless...
thewizardguy said
This seems just a little bit ridiculously overpowered, just saying. Not only can you easily kill anyone by killing one of their ancestors, but you can alter the entire timeline at your behest. How has nobody else noticed how ridiculously powerful this character is?

the fact that ysmir can actually kill him if required...
*rises from my grave of a bed just to say a few things* i'm on vacation... if anyone asks tell them that's why i haven't been on... *disappears*
