Working on a post. Sorry for the delay Freelancer.
Inside, or at least that is how I perceived it.
Apparently there was some kind of outbreak spreading throughout Los Angeles, or at least, that is what Jay gathered from the man. After the brief news flash, the man introduced himself as Allen. "What kind of outbreak? Like flu or something?" He asked, "I'm Jason by the way, everyone just calls me Jay though". The man briefly introduced his daughter, "nice to meet you" he said in a softer tone. "Yeah I came from..." Jay paused for a moment, "Ohio and there was nothing significant happening there". When the man mentioned seeing 'things like this in movies and video games' Jay wondered just what exactly was happening. "It seems pretty crazy. I heard a gunshot a little bit ago, and the crowds of course." Jay was lying through his teeth earlier, when he said he was from Ohio. He hoped that the man would not pick up on that slight pause.

When Aaron's plane lifted off in Minnesota, there were people with coughs, but that was it. That was the only thing that stuck out in his mind. Am I infected? How contagious is this fucking thing? Jay thought as he waited for a response from the man. When the plane ascended from the airport, there was still no significant news regarding an infection or outbreak of any kind. Maybe if there were not gunshots, panicking mobs, and a quarantine, Jay would have not believed this man. But everything around him pointed to something big happening. All things considered, it was pretty calm since the gunshot rang out. Hopefully that was a good thing.
After his flight had landed, Jay planned to get as far away from the city as he could. There would probably be some small town a couple of hours away that would hire him with little personal information, allowing him to start over, so to speak. He was jittery. Spending time in prison was the furthest from home he had been, and that was still in Minnesota. Now he was in California with nothing but a few dollars and a disposable phone his friend had given to him. It was a smartphone but it was not a high-end one, it was very cheap and worked poorly. Shortly after departing from his terminal and entering the main section of the airport, a large group of police officers scurried across towards Jay. Instantly his skin paled and became clammy. His heart started racing, sweat began to form around the top of his forehead. And, just as quickly as his anxiety built, it was melted away. The officers sprinted right past him, not even batting an eye. Jay let out a sigh of relief as he wiped the sweat from his brow.

Jay continued walking through the airport, and this continued to get weird. Every few minutes he would see a police officer or a group of them rush by him, or down a hallway. The first few times it made him nervous but then he began to think that something else was happening. Jay neared another large atrium-like room and as he passed into it, a gunshot rang out. Throughout his life he had heard gunshots many times, but considering what he had done only hours before, it made him very uncomfortable. People began screaming, running, and trampling over each other. Jay quickly sidestepped to the wall of the hallway. The crowd thinned after a few moments, and then he continued walking. In the distance he could see the list of flights, all canceled. He paid no mind to it. Something crazy was happening inside of the airport. There were groups of cops, and now soldiers, plus the gunshot. Jay was completely on edge, the slightest thing could push him over. Three separate people passed him, he asked what was going on, and they ignored him. Worry was now starting to creep into his mind. Did I just land into a spree shooting? he thought. Finally there was a sight that brought a shed of relief.

About fifteen feet away, with their backs to him, was a man and a girl. What made them stand out was the fact that they were simply sitting on a bench, not running, not panicking, just sitting there. Maybe they knew what was going on. Considering what was happening all around them, Jay wondered if it would be a good idea to approach or not. Maybe this man was more on edge than Jay, and would attack. Or maybe he was no longer "all there", so to speak. At this point, it did not really matter. Jay could hear soldiers yelling at people all over, barking out commands. Well, if the man was "nuts", Jay was going to find out. He slowly walked up, almost creeping from behind, until he was behind the bench. Taking three large strides, he placed himself in front of the man.

"Do you know what's happening? I just landed about a half hour ago... I think"
Awesome, thank you. I think I'll grind off my first post tonight.
Sorry about being absent for a few days. What have I missed in relation to the airport?
Name: Jason "Jay" Parsons
Age: 21
Origin: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Residence: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Occupation: Butcher at a grocery store.
Relationships: His mother and father no longer speak to him. Jay's friends are all either locked up, dead, or no longer in contact.

Appearance:

Standing at 6'3", Jay has a slim but toned build. The tone of Jay's skin is slightly tanned from being outside in Minnesota, but leaning more towards "white". Jay keeps his hair cut short and shaves his facial hair whenever it gets to scraggly. Jay has sharp blue eyes. Since his lifestyle has not been the easiest, Jay has a few scars to reflect on that. He has three notable scars. There is a thin scar across his right jawline where doctors had to cut it open to fix it. On his left arm he has a small stab wound, as well as on his left shoulder. Usually Jay can be caught wearing a pair of jeans or khaki pants with a black T-shirt, and when in the winter, a wool coat. Jay wears a pair of running shoes, also black. On this day in California, he is wearing jeans, a black T-shirt, and his shoes.

History:

Jason Parsons was born to two loving parents in Minnesota. Neither of them had well-paying jobs, but they provided well enough. For the first 18 years of his life, Jay lived in an apartment building in Minneapolis. The neighborhood he grew up in was crime ridden and gang diseased, however, almost every member of that community avoided the Parsons family. When Jay was 10 years old, his father was set to replace a local grocery store owner. In doing so, he became part of the community and became a well-liked man among most it's members. Life was pretty easy at that point, for seven years he was able to live a calm life. But that changed when the grocery store was held up one night. Jay's father was shot and badly wounded. He was put on life support for about two weeks before finally passing away. Jay was affected badly, but his mother took it worse.

When Jay was 18, his mother allowed a new man to move in to the apartment. Jay was shocked that she was so ready to put aside his father, but she did not seem to care. At first things were nice, but it was apparent that her boyfriend did not like Jay. One night, he was drunk and some words were said. This resulted in Jay's jaw being broken by the man. After that, Jay's mother left the man and had charges pressed against him, he got off with probation. While in the hospital Jay sat and thought about the past two years of his life, and got angrier and angrier. About a month after leaving the hospital, Jay made friends with a group of kids that attended his school. They were known gang members and trouble makers, but Jay did not really care. These friends had introduced him to drugs and crime. Shortly after his 19th birthday, Jay was locked up for a year on drug possession and firearm possession.

Prison changed Jay only a little bit. He was stabbed twice in a fight, survived it, and thought himself stronger. Immediately after he got out, Jay reconnected with his old pals. Only two of them were left, the rest were either doing time or dead. Though he jumped right back into the life, Jay did so at a slower pace. The event that triggered a violent spat was when he returned home to see his mother and her old boyfriend together again. The boyfriend, Mike, harassed Jay for months before finally pushing him over the edge. Jay was 21 when he followed his mother's boyfriend home and killed him. Unlike some crimes, this one was planned. The man had started beating his mother, as well as trying to beat Jay. Enough was enough for him. Using money he saved, Jay had a friend purchase him a late night ticket to Los Angeles. Two hours before the flight, Jay followed home and shot his mother's boyfriend. His bags were already packed and his friends were waiting to drive him to the airport. Without even calling his mother, Jay boarded the plane for California and left Minnesota. It was almost 4 am when he landed. Jay knew that the police would figure out that he killed the man, but he hoped that he would be able to go into hiding in California.

Personality:

Jay has a very strong personality and set of moral values, even though he is a murderer. During the majority of his early childhood, his father was a role model and set an example for how he should behave. Jay tries to be honest with people but will lie to cover himself if it is needed. Jay is also very opinionated on what it right and what is wrong. He knows that murdering a man was wrong, but he felt it was for the right reasons. Being able to kill for that reason makes Jay think that he could do it again if he needed to. But Jay will step in to stop senseless violence. Boldness and confidence is somewhat of a trait of Jay's. He is likely to be the first to step up for a task that others would not want to do. That being said, Jay prefers to not be in a leadership role and would avoid being put in that situation. For the most part, Jay is levelheaded, loyal, and honest. These are his three biggest personality strengths. His weaknesses are the fact that he is a murderer, and he can be pushed only to a certain point before his anger spills over into action.

Starting Situation:

LA International.
Meant to post my character in the CS thread. Oops.
Oooh Santa Monica, too bad I am not familiar with Los Angeles... so I'll be having my character start at the airport. My character is going to be American, just not native to California. I'll get to work on a character sheet either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon.
You could say that I am interested.
