There were some hooligans in the other interest check. I'll pm them.
This, as the title states, is a High Casual Roleplay. As such, we'll be looking for people interested in that. We are also looking for dedicated people to be members of this. Check it out.

Otherworld

Near the end of the 20th century, and into the early 21st century, scientists with NASA discovered strange occurrences on the outer limits of the Kuiper belt. Pluto already had an elongated orbit, but there were two Dwarf-planets that exhibited odd orbital patterns. Years passed and NASA continued to study and learn. Eventually a theory came about. A scientist from South America brought to the attention of NASA, the possibility of there being a so-called "Planet X". The science behind it was sound, though out there in terms of many unknowns. The scientist theorized that Planet X was causing the strange orbits of the two Dwarf Planets, and that it was three times the size of Earth. What else did he know? Not much else. Many of NASA's greatest minds decided to drop the subject for two reasons. The first was that it would be too hard to get out there to see what was actually beyond the horizon, and second, it was too far from the sun to support any kind of life.

Years passed and eventually people stopped looking to the stars in wonder, and started worrying about the wars and struggles of life on Earth. The idea of a Planet X had dissipated. Or so it would seem. In the year 2052, scientists with NASA developed the technology to view farther into space with much greater precision and detail. Of course, with this new technology came the resurgence of the idea to investigate Planet X. And so they looked. There was a problem with discovering Planet X. When viewed, the area where the planet would have been, showed a very large distortion, but it was unable to be clarified or viewed in any detail. The funny thing was that they could view beyond it in great detail. Again Planet X was bringing about problems, but this time NASA was technologically advanced enough to begin working on the problem.

Cryogenic sleep was developed and fine tuned so that it could be effectively used. Astronauts were able to be sent further out into space without aging too badly. The shuttles were also much more advanced. No more risky take offs, or bulky, ugly ships. They were sleek now, beautiful in design, wonders of mankind. Many expeditions were mounted to the moon, Mars, Saturn, and every other planet. But none that had come close to Planet X. Finally, it was proposed. A small crew would be sent into a long nap and flown past the Kuiper belt and into deep space. They were to discover, analyze, and report their findings on the distortion.

They had no idea what they were getting themselves into.
In the year 2053, NASA had finished construction on the NSC Exodus. It was the first of it's kind, sleeker, more efficient, smarter, and built for longer distances. Not only that, but it was able to carry more civilian-esque passengers. No longer were astronauts the only people allowed into space. The Exodus would allow for doctors, scientists, soldiers, and other under trained personnel to enter the Great Dark Beyond. Giant bulky ships with detachable pieces were no longer necessary. The design of the ship, and the distribution of power, allowed for it to leave the planet as a whole, and travel through space as one. No space station docking was needed, no extra thrust stations left in space for later use were needed. The ship was completely able to fend for itself.

What was the goal of the NSC Exodus? To explore and discover the mysterious Planet X. The ship, and her crew, were to be the first to discover the Planet and the distortion that was hiding it. Her crew consisted of;
The Pilot - (Vertical)
Perhaps not the Captain of the ship, but none-the-less, an important member. This person is tasked with the manual landings, the docking, and the safeguarding of the ship. He/She knows the insides and outs of his/her ship, and will be the first one to go to when something goes wrong. The Pilot may not be a doctor or have a Master's, but he/she is just as important as the rest.

The Navigational System Operation, Navigator - (OPEN)
The Pilot's right hand man/woman. The Pilot can fly, but where do they fly? The Navigator decides that. The Navigator has an important role aboard the ship. They set the course for the ship and also handle all auto-pilot functions. The Navigator will know almost as much about the ship as the Pilot, almost. The Navigator will have had much experience, and is probably heavily college educated. A very important person for the ship.

The Soldier - (RBY, maybe?)
You never know what you might find on a new planet. Hopefully, it is not aliens. The function of the Soldier is to mostly demolish any physical obstacles that the crew would find planet-side. The Soldier would also act as a peacekeeper aboard the ship. The Soldier will be armed and trained, ready to face any danger that may present itself. The Soldier is an important person.

The Doctors - (Discontent-maybe, OPEN)
The Doctors play a very important role. They are there for two reasons. Make sure that all vitals of the crew are intact, and to make sure that they stay healthy. There are two Doctors, that is a safeguard. If a diagnosis is to be made, two opinions are better than one. The Doctors are smart, college educated, and very experienced. Or maybe one is and the other is a fresh, young, college graduate.

The Scientists - 4 spots (OPEN, OPEN, OPEN, OPEN)
Will be described based on the characters that are submitted.

The AI - (Beowulf)
Will be described based on the character that is submitted.
I haven't come to a decision yet, but I'm thinking either magical abilities or some kind of like passive abilities. I've really put more thought into Otherworld, so I have not really hashed out a system of magic for Banished. I'm definitely open to ideas. With Banished, since it is not a fan-fiction of an already existing fantasy universe and since it is fantasy, there is a ton of room for ideas and creativity. I mean I only have three races down so far and those are Man, Elves, and Mountainfolk.
It seemed that, for the most part, everyone was in agreement that the group should leave the vessel and start the descent home. Even though he was a trained pilot, Thomas had reservations about piloting back to Earth. Many, many, times he had practiced in the simulator and he had even flown the craft, but that was on Earth. Not once did he actually venture out into the great dark beyond. This would be his first time in space, and the situation was not ideal. His crew was made up of strangers, he was 200 years older than he planned on being, and to top it off, he had absolutely no idea what he was flying back into. In his mind there were two distinct possibilities regarding Earth. Civilization was still intact and they would return to be greeted by a new, advanced, civilization. Or, they would return to a desolate planet. Obviously, the latter was not preferable to Thomas, but he was leaning towards that. To him it was very strange that the only communication they seemed to have received, was the "wake up call". Best case scenario, they have simply forgotten us and will get in touch once we enter radar range. Thomas thought. The second option was very grim. If they returned and were the only people left on Earth, Thomas decided that perhaps it would be best to try and find some kind of sharp object, or a gun, and just end it there. He stopped thinking about that.

"Well I'm more than willing to fly us out of here. Unfortunately, I was ushered into my cryo-pod quite quickly and I didn't get much of a layout for the ship. I'll go look for the bay, that's where the shuttle will most likely be" Thomas looked around the large, cavern of a chamber that they were in. There were rows and rows of unopened, silver, pods. Each of them had a thick glass panel that had fogged up, distorting the face of the person still inside. The black panel on the side of each pod gave general information, including vital signs, but that would be up to a doctor to figure out. The pod chamber was on one side of the ship, and consisted of a majority of it. All along the right hand side, closest to the group, was a large set of thick windows. The scene outside of the ship was magnificent. Earth was visible, in all of it's glory. There was much more though. Slowly, as the group had been talking, debris had floated in front of the windows. The debris was part of the other vessels. It would be easy for someone to rationalize that the rest of the ships had been destroyed by something, perhaps the floating meteorite chunks. The chamber itself, save for the pods and a few computer consoles, was devoid of life. It was barren, empty, it was a shell. "In movies", Thomas cracked a brief smile at the thought of watching a movie, "they, the group, usually doesn't separate because of some dangers, but to be honest I don't really think there's anything up here that'll be dangerous to us other than ourselves. So I'll go alone to find the shuttle, unless anyone cares to join me". Thomas gave a brief shrug as he finished his last sentence.

Walking through the rows of pods eerily resembled walking through a long row of military coffins. In fact, it was almost the same. The whole situation gave off a bad vibe, but Thomas had never been one of those people who lived their lives based on vibes. Thomas was at the doorway now, it was open. He placed his hand on the frame, turned, and took a last glance at the chamber. It had been a tomb that had closed him off to the cold grasp of time. One last thought regarding that came into his mind. He wondered if they would have been better off not waking up. With that, he took his first step into the hallway and looked around. The dream he had been having before he had awoken suddenly rushed to him. The hallway, though not covered in fungus or damp, was very similar, almost identical. Something made him turn around, to see if he was being chased. There was nothing there. A sign on the wall pointed Thomas in the direction of the bay, he began heading towards it.
I was in the first but a bunch of stuff came up. But I have a lot of free time nowadays. Count me in.
It's a pretty close count between all of you. To be honest, I really like the idea of both. They can both be expanded upon quite a bit and there is a TON of room for creative freedom.

Had a doctors appointment yesterday which extended much further into the day than I would have liked. I'll be posting once I get home though.

I posted that from my phone and I guess the Guild still isn't working on it.
I guess I did not really think of the second one as having a mystery theme, I was leaning more towards sci-fi/adventure.
