I'd say that all of what Evans said would be on the Pipboy, save for the targeting assist system. The reason behind not including that is I want the characters to be as exposed and vulnerable as possible. I also want more character development in the means of guns and what not. When the characters get out into the Wasteland they are going to eventually be greeted by raiders, super mutants, and other Waste-denizens that have had a lifetime of hard times to learn to shoot a gun and fight. And then we'll have a bunch of sheltered kids just thrown out into the mix. It'll be more fun that way, the characters will grow a lot more, and there will be a lot of learning experiences for the characters. So I mean by the time we get mid-way through the main plot, our characters will probably be hearty Wastelanders.

Larfleeze you are accepted. Go ahead and post. I hope you are caught up on the IC, if not, I can give you a quick run down.
I'm hoping to get away from VATS if possible as well as the whole Pipboy quests and inventory. I feel like that's more video gamish and if this was real life, the only real use for Pipboys would be the radio, time, and Vault messages. So aside from radio and having a clock, the pipboy would be useless in the Wastes.
Anyone can post at this point. I really just want to have all of the characters gathered at the Vault doors before they are opened because they will be loud and surely attract at least two or three of the monsters.
The small group that had gathered outside of the elevator had gotten in. Matthew, at this point, was kind of leading them. It was not a role he would normally have taken and he sure as hell would not be leading them anywhere once they got out of the Vault. In fact, chances were, he would find the nearest place to get shelter, and then take a very long nap. But, for the time being, his attention was focused on the events unfolding in the Vault. Once everyone was inside the elevator, he pressed the button to bring them to the top level. Red goo had formulated on the bottoms and sides of Matthew's boots. If only it was just goo, but it was a collection of thick blood and guts. It was disgusting and Matthew would wash the boots the minute he could. The rest of the group had already begun looting the corpses. No respect. Matthew would not have grabbed a gun, and would not have one, if it were not for Osaki handing him a rifle and some ammunition. "I don't even know how this works" he said, "I mean. Aim and pull the trigger, right?" He continued. Matthew let his index finger creep over the trigger of the rifle. It felt cold in his hand. It felt wrong. But if the elevator door opened and one of those creatures was waiting, he would hold down that trigger until the beast was either dead or he was. It was not bravery or boldness, it would be a reaction out of fear.

The elevator tumbled up the shaft slowly. Rumbling as it did so. Matthew figured out how to get the magazine out but could not figure out how to efficiently check how many bullets were inside, so he just shook it. It sounded and felt like it was moderately full. After a few failed attempts at jamming it back in, Matthew finally got the magazine to fit into the rifle. As the elevator continued to climb, Matthew began to get a feeling of dread. The adrenaline from the earlier encounter was starting to filter out of his system and he was starting to think more clearly. Fuck, what have I done? He thought to himself, regarding leading these people out of the Vault. Matthew drew on all of the stories he had heard from Refs and his teacher over the years, their stories of the outside world. Nothing they said about it was good. Not one thing. Why had Matthew decided that this would be a good idea? He had no idea. Finally the elevator reached the top. It slowly opened to a dimly lit room. There was no one inside. Not a soul.

Matthew quickly left the elevator and took a few deep breaths. It was nice to get air that was not contaminated with blood and gore. Once he had gotten his second wind, Matthew took some time to analyze the room. It was not that big. There was one computer terminal and across from that, the Vault doors. Matthew made his way over to the terminal. "I may not be the best at tech stuff, but I bet I can get this open. I also want to figure out how to close it right after we leave because I don't want any of those things following us out. Who knows how loud this door will be when it opens" he said. Matthew was playing around with some of the commands on the terminal when he finally figured it out. However, he did not open it right away. "I want to wait at least five or ten minutes, just to see if anyone else is coming up. But we should definitely take up like places to defend this room. Just in case one of those things gets up here. It looks like the elevator is the only way up, so if we just aim our guns at the elevator when it opens, we should be fine. If one of those monsters is inside, we just shoot it to shit" he said, aiming his rifle at the elevator, which closed and was descending.
Time for me to post! Sorry about that delay guys. Yesterday was kind of crazy at work.
Something work related came up and so I won't be posting until the morning.
I like the guesses guys. Again I won't be home for about 10 more hours due to work. So I'll post later this evening.
Everything in the Vault halted. The Refugee revolt halted. The citizens trying to go about their daily lives halted. Everything came screeching to a stop. Because of an announcement, Vault-wide announcement, on the intercom.

This is the Overseer's Chief Assistant Hamil. The Overseers are both dead. I am assuming control of the Vault. Lock your doors. Hide your families. Arm yourself with whatever you can find. We have a breach in the security of the Vault. Early this morning the air conditioning systems began to go haywire. Reports on the systems showed a new chemical entering the air ducts. We sent a crew to investigate and they were contaminated. We do not yet know what they are contaminated with but...

The intercom went dead. Panic unfolded. The Overseers were now dead.

Refugee Living Quarters

The growing number of armed Refs were now uneasy. Something had slain the Overseers and it was not them. "What do you think it could be?" A few Refs began to ask. They pondered for a while. "I wonder what contaminated the Vault" another few began to ask. It was clear that another situation was unfolding in the Vault, something that had potential to be as dangerous, if not more dangerous, than the Ref uprising. No more Security Forces came down to the Ref Living Quarters, but gunfire suddenly erupted from the upper levels of the Vault. The Refs decided it was time to move out. "We're going to the upper levels! Now! We are figuring out what's up there and killing it" the leader of the Ref group said. They pressed the elevator buttons and slowly but surely, they disappeared as a group from the Refugee Living Quarters. What was left behind was a mess of blood, guts, bodies, and pain.

Upper Levels

Vault citizens ran for their lives. A dark force had entered the Vault and it had moved from the Doctor's Office into the rest of the Vault. It was killing off Vault citizens and battling it out with the Security Forces, which were weakened severely after the fight with the Refugees. A fight that they still had no idea that they lost. Bullets bounced around the hallways. Bodies were thrown about. Security finally managed to kill what it was that was killing off their people. The group of Officers came near it. The creature was tall, maybe about 7 feet tall, and muscular. It had pale gray skin. It's eyes were black, devoid of a soul. One arm was bigger than the other, much bigger than the other. Rather than fingers, this creature had claws that were maybe seven inches long. Bloody claws. The creature was terrifying. And screams emanating from deeper within the Vault led the Security Officers to believe that there were more. These creatures however had one weird trait. They wore torn Vault jumpsuits.

Matthew

Gunfire erupted near Matthew's quarters shortly after the announcement. He took off into the hallway. Matthew accidentally bumped into Osaki. "I don't know what's going on. I think it'd be better if we stayed together. Safety in numbers" he said to her, before quickly moving down the hallway. Matthew hoped that she was behind him. The once quiet Vault corridors were now a mess of screams, shouts, and gunfire. Matthew had no idea what was going on, that was, until he rounded the corner. Standing, looming more like, down the hallway, was a beast unlike anything Matthew had ever seen before. It was gray and pale. It's eyes were dead. It was huge. It was a monster. Matthew turned to see Osaki behind him. "Don't go over there" he whispered, back tracking away from the monster.

Security Forces rounded the corner, running. They were followed by one of the monsters. "Fuck" Matthew said. Suddenly he was thrown to the ground by a shattering explosion. Somehow the Security Forces created an explosive and used it to kill the beast. It was successful, but it lured the other one over. Matthew was able to dodge by it while the Security Forces engaged it in battle. The first thing on Matthew's mind at this point was his parents. There was a nearby intercom and he reached it very quickly, making a radio call to his home.

"Matty. Don't come back. For God's sake don't come back. We love you" his mother's voice was cut off by the sound of a roar. Matthew began to tear up and rapidly slammed his fists against the metal Vault walls. "Fuck fuck fuck!" He shouted. I have to go back! He thought to himself. No. She wouldn't say that unless she meant it. You have to go Matthew, you have to go! His inner monologue continued for a few seconds before he decided it would be best to find a way to safety. Only one thing came to mind. The former homes of the Refs. If they could survive out there, so could he. Just until the monsters left the Vault or until he could get help down into the Vault. It was a long shot but it seemed as if the Security Forces were losing. Matthew could overhear on the intercom shouting from Officers and then nothing. At least four full floors had gone down.

It was time to leave. It was time to escape. Matthew just hoped that some other people realized the situation and would be joining him. Matthew turned to Osaki. "Security is losing. I'm going to the Vault doors and figuring something out" he said. As Matthew made his way to the elevator, he noticed a distinct clanking noise. The elevator reached his floor and something deep down told him to hide off to the side with Osaki. He moved the two of them around a corner and then peered around. Sure enough one of the monsters exited the elevator shaft, covered in blood. After it disappeared Matthew went over to the elevator shaft. He looked down into the darkness and saw fire. Only one elevator was working, the other was brought down. When the last remaining elevator opened, it was a sight to see. A horrible sight. Bodies, guts, and blood covered the floor. Refs. With guns. What the fuck Matthew thought. Did the Refs fight these monsters downstairs first, is that was the gunfire was? Matthew did not know. All he knew was that if the armed Refs were dead, even though he just discovered them, then Security would probably not be faring too well.

Matthew entered the elevator, quickly. He covered his nose with his collar, as well as his mouth. Matthew gagged quite a bit.
In my post Matthew asks Osaki to follow him SO I AM GOING TO ASSUME SHE DID when I continue my post. EWill if you want me to change that part, let me know. Just because I'm the GM doesn't mean I'm not open to being corrected.
Working on a post now.
