The molarity of pure water is 55.5 mol/L. Is it just me, or is that number super satisfying?

I find I'm much more productive when I make a list of check marks, then write whatever I end up doing next to them.

I always either have lots of inspiration but no motivation, or tons of motivation and no inspiration. I'm not sure which sucks more.

“Everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world, I mean everybody — no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they’ve all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds… Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe.”

The forest was dark, and there was no moon in the sky as the man chased her through the trees. No, not her, but the other woman, the one with the pretty red hair who was crying silently as she ran from the man. There were jumbled cries of many words and phrases that didn't matter, the man was already lost. As he caught up to her, a slow smile spread across his face, and her crying ceased. The ground stained red, and a dark shadow hunched in the trees, while the man smiled and screamed his laughter into the night, accepting his new self.

E'nasha woke in a cold sweat, forcing herself to stay quiet as she attempted to calm down. She always had such vivid nightmares, and the scariest part was that the beginning of each of them always started out as what could possibly have been a happy dream. The couple in her latest nightmare had lived in a little cottage in the wood, the worst part of their lives being the natural disaster that had destroyed their home a few years ago and that had killed their young child... The death of whom had slowly driven the father to madness, and caused him to blame the mother for failing to save him...

E'nasha shook herself to force the memory from her mind, unsuccessfully. In her second attempt, she took a look around herself, this time able to distract herself from the dread the nightmare had caused. The area was, to say the least, strange. There was a wall surrounding her into a very large area that was at least twice as tall as she was, and made from what looked like interwoven pieces of wood from carts, branches, and entire trees, all bonded together with a LOT of mud. The ground of the area contained inside the wall was made of much the same material, but also included what looked like partly rotted animals and cleaned bones in the mix.

As if she hadn't been scared enough already today, what with the surprise attack from that giant bird-thing, and then a nightmare, and now finally E'nasha found herself stuck in what seemed like said bird-thing's nest with it. The creature didn't seem to be paying any attention to her though, as it was on the opposite end of the area and making a lot of noise while repairing the wall over there.

Also in the nest, there were quite a few animals milling around. They were all herbivores, for as much as she knew, like sheep and small horses. While they seemed rather relaxed right now, they were all staying in one area in between her and the monster. There were large patches of grass, dirt, and things like hay and corn spread around everywhere, along with a bunch of broken wagon parts and one wagon that still looked completely intact.

Lastly, to her right there was a group of large off-white eggs that had Darker spots covering their entire surface. Most likely belonging to the large monster who was still messing about with the wall across the nest from her.

E'nasha carefully stood on the surprisingly uneven ground, trying to keep from falling or fainting as she did. Keeping a wary eye on the creature, she backed up slowly until she was up against the wall of the nest. Then she turned quickly and climbed up the side of the wall, it was easy to do considering that the entire wall was made up of knotted trees and branches and things. When she got to the top, she peered over the side and quickly climbed back down. "Not gonna be able to make that jump." She muttered to herself. "On to plan B."

E'nasha started making her way over to the wagon that was still 100%, looking for something that could possibly help her to get out of the nest without breaking a leg. Other than a bunch of jars and crates of stuff, the wagon was empty. With a sigh, E'nasha went over to where she had been sitting before and plopped back down on the ground, wondering what to do next. The thought crossed her mind to try and ride the creature out, but then she remembered that the creature would probably just kill and eat her right then and there if she tried, so instead she settled for hiding as well as she could behind a pile of debris from the creature.

She stayed like that as she watched the sky get darker and darker. Then, after a while, she thought she could hear a familiar Croaking caw as she saw Sir emerge from the shadows. "Oh! Good boy!" She said happily as she petted him and scratched his head. She always appreciated that Sir was able to make her happy in even the strangest of situations. As she thought about that, she also thought about how worried El'kan must be for her right about then.

As the first traces of purple began in the sky, E'nasha took off her necklace and gave it to Sir, tying it around the bird's leg. "Lead him to me, Sir." She ordered quietly. He pecked at her forehead once before taking off again, heading off into the growing darkness.
"I could have a group of sentries go with you there, if you can show the way. As for Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Unless you believe that you could negotiate the truce between them, I know of only one person who is level-headed enough to do so." Raldel spoke with emotion barely contained in the quiet, matter-of-fact tone he was using with Tarentek, an almost unnoticeable quaver behind his words. "You should know though, to retrieve them would mean a dangerous mission into territory that is most likely already under the control of this empire."

Opal breathed a slight sigh of relief as he left his father's den, and then immediately cursed himself for it. What was he relieved for? To be finally away from the Karisskan Tarentek, and back doing something that was actually DOING something. Yes, finding his sister once she's gone off on one of her little 'adventures' wasn't doing much, but to Opal it felt like he was doing more than standing around and talking about war tactics with an outsider.

Opal could not understand how his father or even how his sister could stand to be near such a creature. He had been told that Tarentek was staying with Onyx until he recovered, however, except for some apparent dehydration and a few nasty scars, the Karisskan seemed to be in perfect health. "Healthy enough to stand against one of us, or even launch a surprise attack on Onyx or Raldel should they ever be alone." The words slipped from Opal's mouth before he could even begin to think that he could be wrong. Even when the thought did cross his mind though, he couldn't force himself to change his mind.

He forced himself to stop thinking about his distrust of Tarentek as he saw the thin line on the horizon that he knew was the sea where Onyx always ended up.

Onyx watched for a while as the scouts searched the area, gathering anything they had apparently deemed useful, and then place a small object on one of the walls of the ruin before they left, continuing down the road to the north. They must be going down all the roads to find all of the ruins and search them before they start trying to find the people. Onyx's thoughts continued to wander about the topic as she started flying back to her nest.

She ran into Opal as she flew, who told her that her father had sent him to go bring her back. They flew back to the nest in relative silence, each lost in their own thoughts.

Raldel continued on as if he hadn't even noticed Onyx's absence. "We do not have a 'good' relationship with the tribes that are not akin to us, but as a race we have our pride and responsibility that binds us. I know of Three groups already that would shelter us should we need to flee, and over 10 groups that would rally with us at the earliest notice. The tribes that live on the continent of Africa are much larger than our tribes here, and they may have developed a pact with the other races there, so I believe sending a messenger to each of them as soon as possible would be the best course of action right now, because then they would be able to send warriors to the isthmus between here and the continent to guard against land expansion of this empire into the continent."

"As for the cities of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, I believe that they are still under the control of a race much like your own. I have never heard of Tel Nof before, but if it is in the same area as the other two we may be able to assume that they are also under the rule of this same race." Raldel looked around for a moment and then ordered Opal to go find Onyx. "She's been gone long enough now."

Onyx wasn't really sure where she was going, or why she had left in the first place, however her instincts had never driven her wrong before, so she closed her eyes and let the wind guide her.

After a while she was able to smell the familiar taint of salt in the air, and she knew she was nearing the sea she had met Tarentek at just the day before. She opened her eyes and landed at the side of the wide grey road, rather than going all the way to the bank of the sea like she usually did, and looked around.

The sky looked as grey as the road beneath her and the sea reflected the color across its surface, creating a variable monochrome scene around her. She had never been much for camouflage, but now, still following her instinct, Onyx pulled the top of her shawl up over her head and face and tied it into a hood, effectively hiding both her face and wings from the sight of any other creature.

Then she waited. She wasn't on the normal stretch of shore that she usually ended up at, instead she was in an area that was dominated by the shells of the old buildings and relics left behind by the civilizations before. Her dark clothing blended well into the shadows of the old wall she had chosen to hide behind, even though she really had no idea what she was hiding from.

After a while, she heard a loud rumble in the distance. Keeping as still as she could, she watched as the source of the rumbling came into view. It was a small group of the old vehicles that she had seen so many of just lying around that was moving quickly down the road towards where she was. As she watched, the group started going slower as they entered the area until they came to a stop in the middle of the small ruins.

They must be scavengers for the empire. Why would they come all the way out here though? Onyx thought to herself as the creatures emerged from the vehicles.

Even before I opened my eyes, I knew what it was that I would see. The moonlight, drifting down through the trees to illuminate the quickly moving river I could hear nearby, while the light also reflected off of the forever frost that covered everything in the White Forest. I could feel the cool, soft pile of snow beneath me as I tried to comprehend the pain I could feel getting stronger with every beat of my heart.

I slowly open my eyes, looking at the beautiful wintry forest around me as I sit up in the snowbank. Suddenly, I understand my pain, and begin to spread my wings to take flight. There's a Demon nearby! Somehow, when I fell, I had returned from my Warrior form into my true form, a pure Angel, which was much more vulnerable to a Demon Warrior than even a human could be. The pain, a built-in genetic warning to tell me that I was too vulnerable, was a blessing that had saved my life many times.

I was able to take flight and change back into my Warrior form within seconds. Surveying the area, I noticed the Demon almost immediately. She was literally on fire, although the trees and brush around her did not catch, which meant that it was simply a weapon of her Warrior form. I did not know if she had noticed me while I had been asleep, or if she had not seen me until just now, but either way she was looking right at me as I hovered in the air.

"What is it, why do you stare like that Demon? Have you never seen an Angel before?" I say the words while amplifying my voice. hopefully I will not have to fight this Demon, I may be able to simply scare it off.

"Oh, I've seen Angels before. I've just never seen one when they aren't a Warrior. You should stay that way more often, you were much cuter then." The She-Demon's voice was too sweet, too cold. It almost hurt to listen to her, but I did.

"Begone Demon. I've no reason to fight you at the moment, and I'd rather not have to deal with you right now."

"Fine, but tell me one thing. Why'd you fall from the sky like that? Or would you rather not tell a Demon?" The She-Demon laughed at the end, as if she thought she had told a funny joke. So, She did see me before I woke up. I was lucky then, that she didn't kill me as I slept. I did not want to continue speaking to this Demon, however she had asked a question that I myself wanted an answer to.

My memory of the time before I woke was still foggy, however as I thought about it I was able to work out the most important details.

As I remembered, I was thankful for the fact that I healed quickly, and briefly wondered why the Demon Nevil and my sister Ryba had not come to finish me off. I quickly did an inventory of my injuries, finding that the dagger had been removed from my abdomen, leaving a rather tender scar above my navel, while the wounds on my back and wings had healed completely thanks to the snow and were now only slightly sore.

"You're right, I would rather not tell a Demon. So if you'll excuse me-" I had turned around in the air to head away, when suddenly in front of me was yet ANOTHER Demon. I'd say he looked quite terrifying, especially because just seconds before the warning pain in my neck had become almost unbearable. His eyes glowed a deep blood red and his skin was an ashen grey color. He wore a hooded cloak of shadows, likely a familiar, and no wings, which meant he was especially skilled with magic.

I backed up into a tall tree in my attempt to run away. I had no idea how I looked, but I was 99.99% sure that it wasn't like a powerful Angel should.
"It would be next to impossible to unite the people of this region. However, the people of the continent you spoke of to the southwest would possibly join forces with us, as most of them are our kin." Raldel started explaining about how their tribes had spread from their origins on the continent, while Onyx excused herself and left the den.

The worry in her mind was making it hard to concentrate on anything they were saying anymore, so she started flying around the nest to clear her mind.
"Well, Tarentek. I thought that was the reason you were here in the first place. Your story's lesson is true, there is no such thing as an absolute defense. However there is also no option for what to do to survive in most wars, there is only the inevitable win by one side." Raldel paused, as if wondering weather to say his next words. "I am a leader, not a thinker. I would appreciate all the help you could give."

Onyx was happy that they were finally getting somewhere, even if they did not have all the information that they truly needed to be able to fight this foe. But something pricked at the back of her mind, a small worry that she couldn't quite word...
This is Kokoro (In warrior form), right?

"Some of the things you mention show just how little you know about us." Raldel started. "First off, there are very few way that they could attack us indirectly. We can see anything approaching above ground for quite a way beyond the extent of even your vision, and our water supply is under the mountain itself. As for the creatures we hunt... If they mess with that, we will simply hunt them. It has actually been a very useful tactic in the wars of the past to eat the corpses of our enemies, as it gives us another source of food and strikes fear into the enemy." Raldel smiled as he said the last part and continued. "Of course, the other questions you asked cannot be answered unless we were to actually confront this enemy ourselves."
