Alright character made. Went with a summoner instead. even created a few magic rules for summoning which can be used by others too.

Let me know if it is okay or not.

Also i stated that my character is a wizard specializing in summoning. it doesn't mean others can't bind or summon creatures, spirits, or objects. In fact i think it would be cool if everyone could. I just see it as a specialist i can do it faster, more efficiently, and even bind with strong willed creatures that don't wish to be contracted. I see binding contracts as being one exerting their will over another, and with magic it creates a companion/slave (depending the personality of the summoner).

Name: Gerard E. Vincerra
Nickname: The Collector
Age: 112
Class: Inbetween Wizard: Magic Specialization - Summoning
Race: Human

Appearance:

Personality: Gerard is very cautious due to the worlds current situation. He is fascinated by the creatures both angels, demons, and all the forms they take within the world. Gerard finds it difficult to trust others due to human nature and of course the nature of demons goes without saying. Saying that Gerard doesn't even trust the side of light. The only ones he trusts are the beings that are bound to his soul. For under the Binding Summoner's Contract no creature can betray their Master. He is obsessive about gaining new summons and whenever a particular strong/intelligent/interesting beast appears. He becomes excited to make a contract with it and add it to his collection.

Biography: Gerard was born an the Umbral Shadow World. Which is just a fancy way of saying he has been part of the secret world of magic that has remained hidden to the other humans that advanced themselves in technology. Even before technology had become so advanced the Umbral people were only mentioned as simple superstitions, legends, and myths. To the people of the shadow world those mythcs and legends were seen as historic truths. Gerard had a strong soul and an affinity to Summoning Magic from a young age. When he started cultivated his skills and increasing his knowledge of both himself and the mystical world he started making simple contracts with weak elemental spirits.

By the time the Barriers began to collapse Gerard had collected a large number of unique beings and powerful items as he travelled teh world exploring ancient and hidden locations. To many wizards, witches. summoners were always seen as weak due to the fact that they had to rely on the power and skills of over beings. But thanks to Gerard and other talented Summoners, other specialists have learned how formidable they can be.

Now the more and more Beings of light and darkness are breaching the human world. Gerard aka The Collector has gone to one of the biggest breaches to increase his significantly large number of beings before others.

Notable Skills: Creating Binding Contract, Summoning (powerful beings),Runic Inscribing (Runes Known: Summon, Bind) Conjuration (objects that have been "bound" to the Summoner)

i'll just put my idea for my character down. i'm having trouble finding a good picture. My character is going to be an Artificer/Magic-tech crafter. It is late where i am now so i'll probably just write it out tomorrow
i was wondering if you can give some thoughts/rules for magic. limits or maybe source of magic. Does it come from external source or internal. or both? just trying to figure out a system or different branches of magic that might have different sources or use magic differently.

eg. necromancy might drain a users vitality due to giving life to animate the dead so they need to steal vitality from other sources and along that road they need more sacrifices or they refine the vitality or learn to store it up for later use.

then summoning magic might involve binding creatures to your soul. so if the creature is slain then it goes into a dormant state but doesn't actually die because it is anchored to the summoner's soul. The summoner would have to harmonize his soul with a creature so there could be issues with compatibility so there could be something creatures that one could not bind with.

Then enchanting would be different. i was thinking of using magic runes of different tiers and this is more like word magic where you can enhance objects and people but using a combination of symbols. this magic would be determined by one's knowledge but the issue becomes how does one learn new runes? or perhaps they know all the runes and have to experiment by combining them for different effects.

those are just some ideas. nature magic would be different as well as evocation (energy based magic)

should we just let people decide their own magic and it's rules? would be easier and faster i guess

(Edit): Unless magic always existed but the practitioners remained hidden until the barriers started crashing down. then it was up to the magic users to teach the normal people in ways to defend themselves. I figure it is safe to assume that creatures of heaven and hell should have a large understanding of magic already. As well as having magical devices and relics.

No worries. Godmodding is boring. the fun stuff is making a weak power into something versatile
Well I applaud you. The plot was quick and concise. I always liked sci and fantasy mixes. Just to be clear the high level of technology still functions? or has it all been shut down? A tank can't take down a dragon, for example

Was also curious what constitutes as demons or angels? More precisely where to the ghosts and monsters of legends fit in exactly? I have nothing against it. i just am being a "nitpicky" because i love details. I was thinking, and it doesn't have to be used. But if there were "muiltiple" worlds revolving around our earth. This is where those monsters might come from. Ghosts could be spirits manifesting forms due to the barrier breaking down.

I'm curious if magic is allow, and if so how is Necromancy looked upon by the 3 sides?

Also. count me in. i want to see what some other writers' characters are like but i might just make mine ahead of time.
Greetings. I just wanted to make sure that you were still accepting (just in case you forgot to take the accepting words down). I'm still looking through the characters to make sure i don't accidentally have the same abilities and what not.
Well over all it seems promising. i am biased towards the fantasy genre. I'm interested but i'd like to see what each of the races have to offer?

I'd also like to double check. the only options are Human, Devils/Demons, and Heavenly Beings? No magical/mythical beasts?

Also interested in the limits of the supernatural powers as well as the source of them, eg whether they are magical or mutations. If humans have always had these powers or whether they were awakened due to the barriers coming down. If some of these were answered when you flesh all this out. then my interest would probably increase.
It's a pleasure to be here with all you fellow Roleplayers/writers. I hope get a chance to join some of you in a roleplay in the near future.

Looking forward to contributing to the forum and increasing the enjoyment of any roleplays that I take part in.

Onward!! <sends and goes looking for something to join>
