Name: Emmi Reynolds

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Former Occupation: Student and Herbal Medicine Shop Worker

Bio:
When the world went to hell, you’d think parents would pull kids from school. But no, they still had a misguided sense that education would lead to some sort of future. Well, that future might not be worth living anymore. Emmi continued to go to school as her parents pushed her though, and got a side job at an herbal medicine shop. Drugs were a growing business as people got more injured by fighting, or wanted an escape because life just sucked, or pharmacy grade products were out of their price range. But the price of more herbal remedies didn’t skyrocket nearly as much. Emmi, thanks to a family friend, got a job at the shop and absorbed the knowledge of what did what like a sponge. She was meant to be in this profession. But then a new batch of pills came. The old bottles were set in the back, and for the taking. Slowly, Emmi began taking things from the shop. After all, these were still incredibly valuable. And soon, they would become even more so.

The new shipments of herbal medicines began having odd effects of their customers. They were demanding the previous drugs, but Emmi and other workers had pretty much cleaned them out. The new drugs, had been tainted by VS-4-55. Pretty soon, almost all their customers disappeared. Emmi eventually stopped showing up for work as the world went more and more to hell.

She packed up what she had and wrote on the bottles what they did, and packed a few of her toiletries and clothes in two duffel bags. She also pulled out her parents’ camping gear and took out some survival gear and her dad’s fishing bow they used when they would camp each year. This year however, they would not be camping. The local zoo animals began to mutate and broke out, and Emmi was just forward thinking enough to have everything she needed packed and ready to escape. After all, she was never a fighter. In fact, she was much more of a hippie, tree hugger type. But when she begged her parents to go, they refused, saying they were staying in their home and so was she. She left at night, and hasn’t gone back. She knows she needs to survive.

Her belief is that all this is humans’ punishment for their gross mistreatment of the earth and each other. She thinks it will eventually blow over when humans are appropriately served their bout of karma, but until then, it will be nature taking its vengeance.

Stuff: A veritable pharmacy in her bag (hope this is ok since she would basically die in a fight if she couldn't escape)

Toiletries (1 practically full tube of toothpaste, a couple bars of soap, scent free deodorant, 2 extra sets of clothes, 6 packets of detergent)

Food & food related items (solar powered burner, water bottle that filters water, 3 cans of broth, can opener, 2 sardine cans, 6 packets of dried fruits and vegetables, 1 large bag of trailmix, 1 pot)

Other: gas mask with 5 filters, 2 different sized knives (one butter knife for cutting pills in half & eating/cooking, one large machete to cut through brush), fishing bow (no extra arrows), army blanket, 1 gallon sized ziplock bag, 1 crank flashlight
No problem :)
Keela raise an eyebrow but nodded, waiting and letting Celest deal with the bear. When she came back and started talking to Runa about Japanese, she just kept quiet like Blake until he asked if they could go. ”Yes, let’s,” she agreed, walking with the group to the cave Blake had found. It wasn’t nearly as at one with nature as her tree home, and it was awfully dark. She honestly was kind of attached and didn’t want to move but just put on a smile for the others and nodded as Blake talked it up. ”I’d like whatever place in here has the most light… it’ll be easier for me,” she made the small request, walking around til she found one that seemed to almost have windows in the forms of holes a foot in diameter each running the length of it. She thought perhaps of adding a hole in the ceiling as well, but it could wait. She’d found her room. She sat in the middle of it and peered out the circles from a short distance, thinking to herself and messing with her moon bracelet absentmindedly.

Great CS so far. I noticed I never actually responded to No Bite and All Bark's post so if you are reading this then yes a wheelchair-bound character is absolutely fine and I like the new character's I have seen so far! Unfortunately (I hate to be [I]that[/] guy) I am completely wiped out so the first IC post you were all so looking forward to with baited breath will be postponed until tomorrow. DX Now I know what you're thinking "Yahtzee you cur! How dare you make anyone as ludicrously good looking as I wait any longer?" But the wheel of life goes on and I'm sure one more day (More like 10 hours...) Won't be too much more to ask from such a fantastic bunch of... people? So with that I bid thee all a fair good night.

It's like you can read my mind.

Yvette looked at Jhett and blushed heavily before laughing a bit. ”No, I don’t think so, Jhett,” she smiled, reaching out and running her fingers through his hair lightly, and pressing just a little to indicate she wanted him to stay laying on the beach. ”Angel did get you stitched up though and…” she was suddenly cut off by a voice. She looked behind her to see a girl running towards them, and suddenly Yvette’s smile got even bigger. ”It’s Brooke!” she told Angel and Jhett, not knowing if they knew her or not, but just excited. ”Brooke!” she shouted, smiling down at Jhett and then at Angel one more time before getting up and running to her friend she’d thought had surely died. When they met she hugged her tight. ”Oh my god I thought you were dead,” Yvette breathed, pulling back in disbelief, so thankful for someone else she knew to have survived.

Yeah sure. Any of those could work. Like I said though, as being close friends required loyalty, I think saving someones life would build loyalty better than anything else. I don't know, we'll see what the rest think. :)

Fine by me. If everyone else that's accepted agrees to it, sounds like it'll work out great!

Also, I was thinking: maybe your character could have met the other characters/one of the characters by being saved from the lake by them? Dunno, up to you.

Yeah that was one opening I saw while writing it, but didn't write it in right away in case no one wanted to do that. But openings in her past could be pulling her out of the lake, being someone who dared her to and then regretted it, helping her get on the quidditch team or to the hospital after her injuries, or something in someone else's past. I also put the Forbidden Forest as a dislike in case she ever took an adventure in there with anyone as well that ended badly.

I understand that I just think it's probably the most sought after ability in RPs, as it's pretty badass. Would be unfair to give it to one person and probably unrealistic to give it to all of us straight away.

Understood :)

Your app seems fine :D, only I don't think animagi is really something we will do right away, kinda makes us overpowered right from the start. Maybe the characters can learn in together.Btw the 'Quidditch Position' is only if applicable. Your character doesn't have to play Quidditch.

Alright. I normally wouldn't have added the animagus ability except for that I wanted her specialty to be transfiguration. But I can just make her learn it quickly whenever/if we do it IC.

Historical Information

Born in the outskirts of Caithness in the Scottish Highlands

Family:

– Marianne Hurst (nee Julius) (mother)

– August Hurst (father)

– Adrianne Hurst (sister)

Biography:

Adelie was born to a witch mother, and a muggle father. Her father had no clue her mother was a witch, as she kept it from him. She didn’t mind at the time, considering herself too in love to care. But after Adelie was born, there was no keeping the secret any longer. Adelie would do strange things. Move about the room, make instruments play for her entertainment, make toys spin, etc. all without touching them. Her mother admitted her lineage to her husband, who accepted the women in his life for who they were, despite the lack of trust that had started it. Adelie was proving to be gifted practically out of the womb, and so it was no surprise when her younger sister, Adrianne, came just 2 years after Adelie, that she was talented as well. Though she didn’t show quite as much promise, she was still performing accidental feats of magic by age 2, and much more destructive ones than Adelie. Such as over boiling the coffee pot, causing the cat to float about the room, and turning the oven up to burn dinner.

On Adelie’s 11th birthday, she received her Hogwarts letter. Her parents were proud and eagerly bought her everything she might need for her magical journey, though her father was a tad bit apprehensive when in Diagon Alley, and Adrianne was more than a little jealous. During her Diagon Alley trip, she met a girl with fantastic blonde hair who had a cat. Loving cats, Adelie approached her and introduced herself, asking if she could pet the furry creature. The girl obliged and they parted ways. Turns out they would both be put in Gryffindor house, and become friends during a night when Rin got lost in a thunderstorm and Adelie went looking for her out in the rain. Finding her and comforting her, Rin has easily become Adelie's best friend over their years at Hogwarts.

During Adelie’s first year at Hogwarts, while trying to make friends, she was dared to take a swim in the Black Lake. Not one to turn down a dare, she dove in, not knowing the mermaids and other magical beings that lurked within. She has no idea what, but something grabbed her, trying to pull her into the depths. She almost drowned when she pulled out her wand and yelled stupefy, a spell she’d read about when studying prior to the start of the year, and tried to swim away. She has no idea if she would have made it, except Calvin dove in and pulled her to shore.. She passed out when she hit the shore, waking up the hospital wing. Since then, she’s had a terrible fear of deep water, and a solid friendship with Cal.

She’s always received top scores, and excelled at Transfiguration. The classes she has done poorest in were Herbology, having no green thumb at all, and potions. She just would rather use her wand than work up something in a pot, as she usually put it, glossing over that some potions did things a wand couldn’t. She also avoided such subjects as care of magical creatures and divination, assuming herself to not be skilled in those areas without even trying.

Another notable event was in her 5th year when she became Gryffindor beater for the quidditch team. On their first game against Slytherin, the opposing team’s beater hit a bludger towards her and knocked her out of the sky, unconscious. She has never forgotten the insult, and loathes Slytherin quidditch team because of it. After all, she broke several bones in the incident. During her second game against the team, the same beater tried it again, when Zef knocked the bludger away from hitting her. After the game she saw a fight break out between the two Slytherin boys because of it, and has been friends with Zef since, despite her general feelings towards Slytherin house.

Now coming into her last year at Hogwarts, Adelie is looking forward to graduating in order to get a job possibly as Junior Assistant to the Minister of Magic, although she secretly wishes she could play quidditch professionally for the Montrose Magpies.

One of the things that has followed Adelie since her 3rd year at Hogwarts though, was her sister. Her sister who got into Ravenclaw. Her sister who was blonde, beautiful and skinny. Her sister who played seeker for Ravenclaw and has been one of the best in their history. Her sister who excels in all things art, especially Divination. Adelie has been in Adrianne’s shadow in her mind since her little sister got her letter and came to the school, though Adrianne feels the same way. Her sister is stronger than her, smarter than her, and has more friends than her after all, but Adelie has trouble seeing that side of herself at times.

Her 3rd year is also when Adelie became friends with Stella. Lugnut, the constant Slytherin thorn in her side, tried to hex her after an argument, when Stella disarmed him and prevented the hex from hitting Adelie. Although skeptical of the entire art of divination and 'seeing', Adelie now counted Stella as a smart, good friend she could rely on.

Personal Info

Adelie is driven and respected by the staff at Hogwarts, and by most of the students for that reason. She has a hard time understanding humor, so when she does make a joke, she often surprises herself more than anyone else. She despises stupidity, thinking those that blow off class or play pranks that harm others as utterly useless. She is a sort of motherly figure towards the friends she does keep close, scolding them when they don’t keep in line, and often correcting their grammar. She has tried to stop over her years at Hogwarts however, though she struggles. She is one of the most loyal friends one could ever have, often sticking around in friendships when the other involved has hurt her repeatedly. She is very trusting and often naïve, thinking almost everyone good until they prove her wrong. She carries with her a sense of high society, despite not being from money or any sort of special breed, she just carries herself with that sort of dignity. She loves fully, and therefore hates furiously when turned against or when her friends are harmed as well.

Likes: Cats, quidditch, winning, transfiguration

Dislikes: Swimming, the Forbidden forest, being compared to her sister, Slytherin

Appearance:

Stands 5’6”

Weighs 130lbs

Mid-Large bone structure

A heavy brow and a mix of green and hazel eyes make her gaze intense. She has an average face shape and nose, but rather plump lips and long, wavy dark hair. Her skin tone is on the pale side, and she has a few random moles. She has an hourglass figure but tends to dress it down rather than up. She wears minimal makeup, but almost always wears some, and does nothing to her hair. She has a white smile, but her canine teeth are up higher than the rest, giving her a slightly vampirish/animalistic appearance when she smiles. She chews her nails to the quick daily, a nervous habit.

Optional

Pet: Owl named Iris

Quidditch Position: Beater

Other: If you want to have a history or past experience with Adelie, pm me and we can work something out. (If this is accepted by the GM of course.)
