Nona simply giggled as Aemilia caught her drift, nodding as she mentioned Evandrus. He wasn’t Nona’s cup of tea, but the thought of a match that would hurt one’s sister was appeal. ”Oh by the gods do it,” Nona whispered, obviously wanting to live through Aemilia at the moment. Getting back at her husband and hurting Secunda in the process? Oh Nona could only imagine. Now if only she could get that lucky. Sure, she could buy a boy, but she would rather have one enamored by her. She almost got too lost in her own thoughts before she recognized Aemilia speaking about the games. ”Yes, Octavius… my he would be lovely to sit with and catch the eye of,” she said thoughtfully, the two girls smirking and plotting on how to hurt others while getting a little happiness of their own. Her mind could just reel with the possibilities. ”I personally would have to make sure it was someone strong you know, the total opposite of Crispus. Someone that would really get under his skin because he could never truly compete,” she said, her voice almost like a snake’s.
Ateret made her way to the docks, still distracted a bit when she hesitantly entered her father’s work room. He was particular about being interrupted, but as she peered in, two men were leaving and her father seemed to be putting away a scroll. She stood back, politely nodding to the two men who were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice her really. After they’d gone, she entered, forcing a smile on her face.

”Father?” she said softly, hoping he would be glad to see her. Marcus turned around and smiled as he saw his daughter, obviously in a better mood than he had been this morning. Not to mention, seeing Ateret dressed up properly instead of in common clothes with a dirt streak on her face made him happy as well.

”Daughter, you look as if Sol himself kissed your hair this morning,” he said, walking over and kissing her forehead. ”What has brought you? I’m about to leave to head for the collesseum presently so I hope it is something quick?” he asked, making time for her but also needing to follow the men that had just left. They had reached an accord about Ateret’s future marriage plans and he had to bring the lucky lad in on the deal.

Ateret was pleasantly surprised by her father’s demeanor, but then again, perhaps seeing her give an effort by dressing this way did indeed make him this happy. And if it did, shouldn’t she continue? After all, it wasn’t too much of a hassle was it? Now she was conflicted, between making her father this happy and her own wants. Unless of course, this was about something else. ”Well… what has you in such high spirits, Father?” she asked, a dark eyebrow raised, clashing slightly with her golden hair.

”I’m glad you asked,” Marcus grinned, moving back over to his work table and pulling out a piece of parchment. ”Do you know what’s listed on this paper, Ateret?” he asked. She shook her head no of course. ”Your dowry. And I have found a suitor for you whose owners have agreed to the terms pending his agreement, which they have pretty much guaranteed,” he spoke happily, folding the parchment and holding it.

Ateret’s eyes widened and her lips parted. Of course she knew this day was coming, when her father actually married her off, but for some reason she was still surprised. ”Ow-ow-owners?” she stuttered, confused. Was she marrying a slave?

”A gladiator my dear. If he doesn’t get killed today, perhaps a free one. He has quite the reputation,” he said pointedly, as if proud to marry her to such stock as a brute fighter. Ateret was still in shock, just standing there as Marcus breezed past her, kissing her forehead again. ”Alright dear whatever you had come to me for will have to wait until the next meal time. I have to go.” And with that, the merchant left, leaving the headstrong girl staring after him, unsure what to do with herself next.
Cheyenne stood on a ball about twice her height, in a high waist sailor bathing suit that clearly showed off her heavily tattooed form. Her throat, arms, chest, stomach, legs… all multi colored and designed while her face looked rather like a doll’s had been placed upon it. She sang softly to herself “When the Saints Go Marching In”. Why she had no idea. While balancing on the ball and rolling it around in a small circle with slight moves of her feet. She would occasionally halt the moving ball and begin practicing tricks and contortion atop it, continually singing softly as if it helped her concentrate. She wasn’t really paying attention to anything around her, though she did occasionally stop everything, smile a perfect white smile, and bow to an imaginary audience. Then pick up where she’d left off.
Then that means team one, minus Mack, is all female. Quite a fabulous superhero team I'd say.

Raina blushed and laughed when Pierce hugged her. Although he was probably the one she was happiest to see, she was also the most nervous to meet him. After all, she’d given up her partying, drinking ways. But if there was one guy she didn’t know how to say no to it was him. She could only hope he didn’t offer her a drink at some point during this reunion.

She almost completely relaxed into the hug by the time he let go of her, smiling at they parted and tucking some of her hair behind her ear as a gentle breeze blew by and he laughed while rubbing the back of his neck. She grinned at his cheesy smile, raising an eyebrow and moving side to side, her high school self almost taking over and beginning to flirt. She hesitated though and then just cleared her throat. Stop acting like a teenager, silly she mentally scolded herself, though a light blush remained on her cheeks.

”I’ve been good. Of course lots of things have happened, but nothing too exciting. For me anyway. Seems like everyone else has made magazine covers since high school,” she said with laugh, though it was a tad forced. She glanced over Pierce’s shoulder to Macey and waved again to her as she waved, before her arms crossed across her dress and she looked to Pierce once more. ”What about you? Anything special since high school?” she asked, eyes searching his.
August couldn’t help the grin on his face when Camilla said she didn’t have a boyfriend. Ugh, he was turning all gooey just like he did in front of her back then, wasn’t he? He was thinking about how any man could possibly have not snatched her up yet, when she asked about his girlfriend, making him hesitate. Luckily she asked if he wanted to walk before he could answer. ”Sure,” he smiled with a bit of relief, offering an arm of his to take if she wanted while they walked. He was nothing if not a gentleman. [b]”Laney and I broke up. My girlfriend that is. She moved out before I left to come here,”[/b[ he blurted out, feeling he could be honest with Camilla. After all, he owed her that. And at this moment, he was glad to be single and here on this beautiful island with his high school crush.
Evera observed another girl enter the bus and gave a friendly smile, honestly thankful she wasn’t going to be the only female among the students. Perhaps they could get along and talk about things she wouldn’t be able to with the male students. Evera was pondering these things as the ghost boy who had been talking to her went to the front of the bus. She settled in more comfortably once again, a content if sleepy look on her face as she memorized his name, as she would everyone’s. When he said he was to watch over them, she thought it a bit strange, as she suspected she was older than he was, but she had no idea really.

Ah, Mai was the other girl’s name. Evera looked to the back of the bus and smiled at the girl before looking forward once more, listening again to Taiyo. She wouldn’t mind him keeping a watch over her. In fact it might be rather nice. Her job was to be guarding everyone else’s souls now and again, so it didn’t hurt to have someone watching hers.

She cooperatively said “Present” when called upon.
