Adelie Evanne Hurst

17 years old

Half Blood

Alignment: Good

Gryffindor House

Personality: Adelie is driven and respected by the staff at Hogwarts, and by most of the students for that reason. She has a hard time understanding humor, so when she does make a joke, she often surprises herself more than anyone else. She despises stupidity, thinking those that blow off class or play pranks that harm others as utterly useless. She is a sort of motherly figure towards the friends she does keep close, scolding them when they don’t keep in line, and often correcting their grammar. She has tried to stop over her years at Hogwarts however, though she struggles. She is one of the most loyal friends one could ever have, often sticking around in friendships when the other involved has hurt her repeatedly. She is very trusting and often naïve, thinking almost everyone good until they prove her wrong. She carries with her a sense of high society, despite not being from money or any sort of special breed, she just carries herself with that sort of dignity. She loves fully, and therefore hates furiously when turned against or when her friends are harmed as well.

Likes: Cats, quidditch, winning, transfiguration

Dislikes: Swimming, the Forbidden forest, being compared to her sister, Slytherin

Biography:

Adelie was born to a witch mother, and a muggle father. Her father had no clue her mother was a witch, as she kept it from him. She didn’t mind at the time, considering herself too in love to care. But after Adelie was born, there was no keeping the secret any longer. Adelie would do strange things. Move about the room, make instruments play for her entertainment, make toys spin, etc. all without touching them. Her mother admitted her lineage to her husband, who accepted the women in his life for who they were, despite the lack of trust that had started it. Adelie was proving to be gifted practically out of the womb, and so it was no surprise when her younger sister, Adrianne, came just 2 years after Adelie, that she was talented as well. Though she didn’t show quite as much promise, she was still performing accidental feats of magic by age 2, and much more destructive ones than Adelie. Such as over boiling the coffee pot, causing the cat to float about the room, and turning the oven up to burn dinner.

On Adelie’s 11th birthday, she received her Hogwarts letter. Her parents were proud and eagerly bought her everything she might need for her magical journey, though her father was a tad bit apprehensive when in Diagon Alley, and Adrianne was more than a little jealous.

During Adelie’s first year at Hogwarts, while trying to make friends, she was dared to take a swim in the Black Lake. Not one to turn down a dare, she dove in, not knowing the mermaids and other magical beings that lurked within. She has no idea what, but something grabbed her, trying to pull her into the depths. She almost drowned when she pulled out her wand and yelled stupefy, a spell she’d read about when studying prior to the start of the year, and managed to swim away. She passed out when she hit the shore, waking up the hospital wing. Since then, she’s had a terrible fear of deep water.

She’s always received top scores, and excelled at Transfiguration. By her 6th year, she began trying to become an animagus, with mixed results so far. She is hoping to master the skill during this final year. The classes she has done poorest in were Herbology, having no green thumb at all, and potions. She just would rather use her wand than work up something in a pot, as she usually put it, glossing over that some potions did things a wand couldn’t. She also avoided such subjects as care of magical creatures and divination, assuming herself to not be skilled in those areas without even trying.

Another notable event was in her 5th year when she became Gryffindor beater for the quidditch team. One their first game against Slytherin, the opposing team’s beater hit a bludger towards her and knocked her out of the sky, unconscious. She has never forgotten the insult, and loathes Slytherin quidditch team because of it. After all, she broke several bones in the incident.

Now coming into her last year at Hogwarts, Adelie is looking forward to graduating in order to get a job possibly as Junior Assistant to the Minister of Magic, although she secretly wishes she could play quidditch professionally for the Montrose Magpies.

One of the things that has followed Adelie since her 3rd year at Hogwarts though, was her sister. Her sister who got into Ravenclaw. Her sister who was blonde, beautiful and skinny. Her sister who played seeker for Ravenclaw and has been one of the best in their history. Her sister who excels in all things art, especially Divination. Adelie has been in Adrianne’s shadow in her mind since her little sister got her letter and came to the school, though Adrianne feels the same way. Her sister is stronger than her, smarter than her, and has more friends than her after all, but Adelie has trouble seeing that side of herself at times.

What's your feeling about animagus or metamorphagus or werewolves as students? All a no go, or just depends?

Full Name: Audrey Mathers

Nicknames: Sunshine, Bright eyes, Honeydew, Sunny

Mutant Alias: Shine

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Hetero

In Depth Description of Appearance:
Audrey has honey blonde hair that she keeps in a messy pixie style most of the time. Her hair is originally a medium brown though, so her eyebrows remain that hue. She has hazel eyes and a lightly tanned skin tone. She has more delicate facial features, but an average/athletic body type. She stands 5’7” and weighs 135, with an hourglass figure of 36, 26, 36. She usually wears average clothes as well, preferring tanks or camis with jeans or shorts and flip flops, or barefoot if she can get away with it. When working out, she wears normal sports bras and yoga pants. Her fingernails are chewed to the quick all the time, but she keeps her toenails looking nice, and luckily has naturally smooth skin since she despises lotion. She will wear makeup from time to time, but tend to go without it as well. She is usually too lazy for jewelry, but if she wears it, it’s most likely something gold.

Personality: Hopelessly optimistic, Audrey doesn’t know how to be around people who are constantly negative and complaining. She likes seeing the bright side of life, though she does not deny the bad exists. She is incredibly humble, thankful for all she has no matter how little it is. For there is always someone who has less. She is a bit competitive, finding herself wanting to win any game or challenge she gets involved in and pouting if she loses unless cheered up, but she can play just for fun too. She enjoys challenges such as fighting or mental trivia, and is respectful to everyone around her unless they are just downright nasty or irk her to death. She likes to have fun and relax, though she isn’t the most social so she feels a bit awkward in a crowd.

Mutation:
The ability to turn sonic vibration which reach her body into various types of light. Any kind of noise, and she can absorb it and expel it into controlled light forms. Before she learned to control her power, flashes of light would radiate about her. She can currently create a brilliant light to temporarily blind opponents, while her own eyes are unable to be blinded by light. She can also throw off someone by using light in a strobe effect. She can also create a shield of light which defers energy blasts or laser beams. She is currently working on creating holograms and shapes from her light energy to maybe create an illusion, but she has not accomplished this yet. She also believes she should be able to create a laser beam or blast for an offensive ability, but doesn’t have the control yet to pinpoint such energy. Her hearing is also immune to being damaged by loud noises, and she has advanced hearing. She is able to use sound energy absorbed for a couple hours, but no longer than that. She usually carries around an mp3 player so she has a constant stream of sound to her ears.

Her strengths lie in her defensive abilities, to temporarily blind and confuse opponents or defer other energy blasts. She is also trained in hand to hand combat and can hold her own in a fight.

Her weaknesses are her offensive abilities. She’s not super strong, super intelligent, she can’t fly, she has a regular human body that can be damaged and hurt like anyone else without mutations. She is susceptible to telepathy and all sorts of other powers. And if she has no sound and hasn’t in a while, she is powerless.

Fears: She is afraid of the dark. Being locked in a silent, cold, dark room alone would drive her insane.

History: Audrey was born to a prostitute and left at an orphanage. Audrey was not well taken care of, and her ‘gifts’ went unnoticed or explained away for the most part as a child. She was adopted at the age of 7 by a woman who used her to cook, clean, and entertain company whenever they had it. Less than a year of being there however, and the home was busted by police for drugs and Audrey was placed into foster care. She was taken in by a strict but loving woman and her husband, who lived on a farm and homeschooled their other 5 foster children. Audrey found the structure of the home becoming unbearable, as well as the constant overseeing, love, and attention they tried to push on her. She just wasn’t used to it. She tried to run away a few times, but was always caught and brought back.

Eventually, as Audrey reached her preteen/early teen years, she began to mellow out. She got lazy and overly relaxed, still not comfortable with the hugs and kisses and whatnot, but not fighting so hard like she used to. She picked up an interest in reading and many sports, becoming more and more your average girl.

She wanted to go to public school though, and finally convinced her parents to let her attend for a few classes her freshman year. Overweight a bit, weighing 170lbs, Audrey was teased ruthlessly about that and many other things about her personality and appearance. She became incredibly self-conscious and began losing weight rapidly by refusing to eat. Her parents checked her into a hospital when she got down to 120lbs so quickly, and she was brought back up to 130 through force-feeding before released on the condition she attend counselling. Turns out, a counsellor was just what she needed. She began wanting to better herself in other ways, and began teaching herself to not care about what others said, so she could look in the mirror and be happy with herself. By the time she was 16, she had rounded out quite well personality wise.

Her abilities however, had not gone unnoticed. Her parents accepted her for them, and had been helping her control them since they discovered that part of her. Audrey needed to be able to control herself in public after all and not go around accidentally blinding people. Audrey made the mistake of trusting the wrong person though. At the age of 17, she began a romantic relationship with the man who had been counselling her, and revealed her mutant nature to him. He instantly called Audrey a freak and threatened to defame her using everything she’d told him in their sessions. Heartbroken and afraid, Audrey ran away one more time. She was about to board a train when one of the teachers from the X-men Academy approached her, asking her to come with them to where she’d be accepted.

She’s spent 6 months at the academy so far, and finds it to be where she should have been all along.

Very clever. I wouldn't have been able to figure out who it was by just looking at the first post myself. Maybe because I'm stupid. Lol.Also I'll try to get a post up today, if I can.

Ha well, she was who Gwen had interacted with most so far so it stood out more to me.
Idk, but it's been a week

Going to have another post up either later tonight or tomorrow^^.

Your nose is gonna grow.
By the looks of how the first post has been edited, it appears to be our blue haired friend, Faye.
”Alright,” Gwen had said, agreeing with a smile to Baylen’s request for a picture. Though she had no idea why he wanted a picture of her. Perhaps he liked her or was some sort of photographer? Then again, maybe he was just taking pictures of everything at camp eventually to remember his time here. That was a good idea. She should remember to do that at some point. Perhaps make a scrapbook… now her mind was going 90 miles an hour. Crap, that’s what she came here to get away from. She mentally scolded herself and reminded her mind to just chill for a while. Do nothing. Have fun.

Gwen saw another boy going over towards their counselor, then Alan, who decided to come along though he seemed uncomfortable, and Greg who seemed like the type of guy she could really hang with and tease. After all, anyone that played along with her sarcasm instead of getting defensive was awesome in her book. Katherine, then Colline who fiddled with her hair, and another girl who had shown up late and looked kind of badass.

Gwen had a closed lip smile on her face to all the others, shifting on her feet as she waited for their tour to begin. It felt like it was going to be a long day, but at least at the end of it, there was the bonfire. Did people make smores on beach bonfires? Hmm… guess she’d have to wait and see.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice though, and she whipped around to see her ex introducing himself to the group. The hell?! she thought to herself, furrowing her brow in confusion. Of course. Of course God or Satan or whatever deity felt like screwing with her relaxing good time would have to make sure Tony showed up. She smoothed her face slowly though and just cleared her throat and looked back to the others that had seemed friendly, sighing softly but otherwise not looking bothered anymore. She was rather good at hiding how she felt most of the time after all.
