You're good, except 1 thing- The Hacker hasn't sent any personal messages to anyone (yet?). She has hacked screens in the main square, the tvs for a few seconds around the city, etc. Five could have overheard about such things, or seen such a message at the museum somehow, etc.

Misty Cravens in the daughter of entrepreneur and food mogul Tyler Cravens. She grew up with no knowledge of her mother, just her hard nosed father. From the time she was little, her dad was hard on Misty. She had to be smart, competitive, the best. She had to succeed. When she was very young, she was painfully shy and cried a lot, so it was a long journey to get her into the mold her father wanted, but by the age of 10, her personality had been effectively changed.

Misty despised androids, and weaklings. Misty had to get the best grades in school. She became opportunistic and power hungry, nothing less than a sociopath and obsessed with political power as well. She became cruel to those her age and younger, and a suck up to those in authority over her. Using these tactics, and her father’s name, Misty quickly rose in her favored field… modified crops. She knew through this avenue, she would hold power over everyone left remaining within Providence. If she controlled food, what could everyone do? Even the president would rely on her. And her father couldn’t be more proud.

10 Years Ago...

”What is your name?” he asked her.

The brunette woman tilted her head slightly, a millisecond search through the wires of her ‘brain’ coming up with the answer immediately after he asked the question.

”My name is Gemma,” she said, brown, doe like eyes flitting down and then back up again, as if deciding how she felt about the name after it left her lips. She gazed into the intense blue eyes of the man before her, barely noticing as he adjusted his tie.

”Fine, Gemma. You can call me Finley, though, as my new assistant, I think in front of others it would be best to use Mr. Kyle, alright?” he smiled, the pulling back of his skin revealing his white straight teeth and deepening the sharpness of his jaw. She noticed the firmness of his eyebrows and yet the softness of his gaze, and understood he was a serious man, but one with tenderness to him.

”Yes… Finley,” she said softly, smiling with a nod. She appeared much friendlier when she smiled, and more lifelike. It was hard for the man to think of the woman sitting before him as a robot… a machine. The way she carried herself, used different tones when speaking… he’d have to continually remind himself of what she was or he’d forget.

Gemma walked briskly towards Mr. Kyle’s office, her navy blue wrapped dress lingering on her figure but not hugging it so tightly she called attention to herself. She’d curled the ends of her thick brown hair that morning, and the snap of her black heels let those in her path know she was focused at the moment.

Opening the door without a word or knock, Gemma gasped softly, eyes wide as she saw Finley kissing a blonde woman who was leaning on his desk. ”I… Finn, Kyle, Mr. Kyle, I’m sorry,” Gemma said, stumbling over her words and obviously embarrassed. Finley half expected her to blush. And for some reason, he felt a guilt spread over him as he pushed himself gently away from the woman and cleared his throat.

”Gemma, wait, it’s fine, I’m sorry. Please don’t go. Um, Harley,” he said, turning to the woman he’d spent the last few days with and smiling as she seemed a bit put out by being interrupted. ”I’ll pick you up tonight. 7?” he asked. The woman nodded curtly, giving him a light touch on the arm before exiting, seeming to pretend Gemma didn’t exist. The brunette android stood a few feet from the door, looking at the floor until the blonde woman shut the door.

Gemma then looked up, a hurt look on her face though she tried to hide it. ”Um… your… your meeting…” she started, information in her mind getting confused with all sorts of feelings tumbling about inside her that she didn’t understand. She felt jealous and angry and sad and confused all at the same time and she had no idea how to express it. It wasn’t in her programming to.

”Gemma, are you okay?” Finley asked, concern sweeping his face as he walked up to her and put his hands on her forearms. The robot woman looked up at him with a pained glance and shook her head.

”I… I thought…,” she breathed out before reaching up, hands moving to his cheeks before lifting up on her toes and kissing him. Her eyes were shut hard, and her mind was moving 90 miles an hour though going in circles as she tried to understand the urge she had to do such a thing, and then do it. But then she felt his soft lips begin kissing her back, his hot breath hitting her. And she could feel it all.

”Just, go Gemma, get out of here!” Finley growled, no anger in his voice, but simply love and concern.

”But they’ll ruin you, your business…” Gemma said, trying to cry but no tears could come.

”And they’ll kill you! So just go, please!” he begged, the pain in his eyes reading to her. The yelling and beating on the door got louder before she gritted her teeth, committing her lover’s image to memory before running to the nearest room that had a wall towards the outside. Finding a window, she opened it and looked below, gripping the bag Finley had filled and throw at her prior. Traffic was headed this way, and Gemma knew if she timed it right, she could fall into it and hopefully land on a bike.

Whipping her head around, she heard splintering and the voices suddenly become louder, shouting, specifically Finn’s. Biting her lip she turned back, watching the parade of zipping vehicles come by. Some were several feet below, some at her level, some above… all trying to get home from their commutes. Pushing off the ledge, she fell, letting the bag hang from her shoulder before clinging desperately to the first thing her body hit. Turned out to be a biker’s body, who began flailing, trying to get her off. The bike began tumbling all around until she forced him off, kicking him to the ground below and tried to get control. When she finally did, she glanced behind her to see sirens and flashing lights of Hark pouring down the way and even out of the window she’d just left. Panic filled her gaze and she kicked it into gear before speeding swiftly through traffic. She had hoped to get lost within the bodies and speeding vessels, but then she remembered all androids were trackable. She knew where her chip was, but it’s not like she could just yank it out while trying to speed through this mess. It would have to come later.

In the meantime, her jacket billowed behind her tan form, glancing behind her frequently, until she started to reach the wall. ”HALT” was being blasted over and over, zipping of cars assaulting her ears, but she was on a mission. She would not disappoint herself, and Finley.

She saw the garbage barges about to lock onto the doors that led to the outside, and she knew something was looking out for her. It was too perfect. She raced towards the opening as the metal slid back, letting garbage jettison out of the ‘perfect’ city. The barge began backing up and the metal doors started to close, set on a timer to only open and close at pre-determined times during the days for garbage disposal. To open them again one would have to catch another garbage dumping at a precise moment, or set up a specific time with the Dept. of Security and Welfare (which was usually only done to dispose of criminals to create more room in jails for those deemed rehabilitate-able.)

Gemma’s hope was in the fraction of an opening, and she leapt from the bike to slide through just before it vacuum sealed shut, tossing her onto hot sand and under the face of a burning sun. But she was free.

TL;DR – Gemma is the first known feeling android. She is only known about by those in law enforcement, not the common man. To the average citizen, she is just a rumor. An android with feelings? Silly. Just used to scare people, they say. Gemma was an assistant to the head of a law firm within Providence. He was young and inherited the company from his father when he died, and decided a more efficient assistant would be one who wasn’t human. So, he purchased Gemma. He began to feel something for her right from the start, and the feeling was mutual. But neither could believe the other would be capable of such emotion and so they worked together a year before they made it known to one another. After that, they began a secret love affair. It lasted quite a while before something between them was suspected and Hark got involved to investigate. By planting some security cameras and bugs in Kyle Law Firm and Mr. Kyle’s house, they were able to determine Gemma was malfunctioning, and came to collect her. When they did, she escaped and headed out of the city, finding herself on The Outside. Once there, she began finding scraps from the garbage dumps, and began building a home for herself, or ‘command center’ as she also calls it. Since that time she’s been hacking into the city, trying to get the word out to others to fight the government and companies who suppress, lie, kill… She became known as The Hacker to anyone who believed she might exist, or knows of her existence (like the law enforcement). They don’t go ‘outside’ the city, but they have also discussed forcing their hand in order to finally take her down. They have bigger fish to fry at the moment though, as other reports of ‘feeling’ androids have come in, and some have been destroyed. Oh, and Mr. Kyle was brought up on a trumped up charge and the judge bought off to secure that he was put in jail, without revealing he’d aided in the escape of an android fugitive.

Setting

The year is 2222, and the world is now condensed into one city. Located in what used to be the Midwest of the United States of America, the domed ‘utopia’ is secure. Within, artificial food is creating using 3D printers and labs to feed what is left of humanity. Most people get around on hoverbikes or hovercars, though many people still walk to get around as such tech is still expensive. One technology that has been made available to the common man is androids. To get a feel for the androids, here is a video to give you an idea of what we’re going for: video. Think futuristic society, advanced tech, but people in general are relatively the same personality wise.

Names to know

(this will likely be added to, and players can be free to add companies/corporations and/or important people, etc.)

Providence: The name of the city
Brass Enterprises: The name of the corporation that is leading in the android market. (Many employees are androids)
CorpWest Inc.: The name of the company that leads in the food and sustainability market (No employees are androids, per the CEO's own hang ups - CEO will be played by a GM)
The Outside: What the world outside the dome is called. People within the city are told this is uninhabitable wasteland. In truth, there are humans, particularly criminals, scavengers, and perhaps a few rogue androids are living and surviving.
Hark: The police force that monitors everything and everyone, including the walls to get in and out of the city, since trash and criminals are taken out every once in a while.
Zachariah Sharp: Current leader of Providence (NPC- the corporations are the ones who control Providence, not Sharp)

The idea is to play people from within the city mainly, that begin to learn of the society outside the walls thanks to one who is called The Hacker (played by a GM). The Hacker has been transmitting messages secretly, exposing secrets, and trying to open peoples’ eyes for a couple years now. You can play someone within the city that is angry at the government or a company and is trying to get back at them for whatever reason. Someone who is working for a corporation or the government or police force, etc. and is completely loyal and will try and stop people from leaving. Someone from the outside who is surviving but barely, and finds The Hacker (note: we will probably accepts no more than 1 of these to start, and if other roles fill up then possibly 2). Or you could be what’s rumored to be a ‘feeling’ android (note: this is still a rarity, but becoming more common). An android who has ‘malfunctioned’ and begun to feel emotions. If an android is found out to feel emotions, it is destroyed. So the ones that can feel, often don’t reveal it. The idea is that eventually, a war will occur once those who wish to rebel gain enough traction to irk those who are loyal to the city for all it has done for people. We would ideally like all those with a grudge against the city, or those who wish to play out a grudge against the city during the RP, to find a way outside it creatively, and find The Hacker, or she will find you. Then a rebel force is created that could possibly stand a chance. Don’t let this dissuade you from creating a loyal member of society either though, as they honestly stand a better chance of winning anyway so it would make more sense for people to be on their side.

What kind of androids will exist? Only house-helpers like in the video, or?

All androids are created to serve humans, so they're all in those types of roles, but they are in other areas besides just 'house helpers'. There are some corporations where all the employees are androids, for example. They can basically fill any worker type role.
