you just summed it up there, Frettzo. I am not being whiny because I can't have a super powerful sword. The blade was an essential plot element for my character and his family. With it being gone and rejected, I'll have to revise my entire CS and find a new motivation for my character.

But that´s just it, Frettzo. That family honor is to be the jailor of the great demon which is the whole reason for the Emblem. The sword and connection with the demon is historical for the Desol family. If the sword really isn't special, no Desol is going to give a crap about it. And he is a nobleman, he's bloody rich, he could probably have such a sword repaired 20 times over by a week´s end. The fact that i's god stone and, as it's stated in the OP, godstone is a highly coveted material so no one who does possess it is going to part with it easily.

It was also going to be something to give my character a drive to do something other than just learning magic but means to get more godstone and ways to mend the sword. He doesn't want to have a broken prison as a weapon where the prisoner is trying to kill him at a daily basis. Not to mention tormenting him through nights via visions of a giant snake devouring the world. And then there is the weight that it's the character´s responsibility to carry the sword due to family sense of honor and what not.
