Father Cyril glanced around at a bit of the crowd that still remained. "Let us get away from this crowd, I'm sure you both have had enough of cramped spaces." He said as he motioned them to start walking. Lucien followed, his eyes couldn't help but wander as he walked through the streets. Honestly he was a little surprised at how.. familiar things seemed to him in terms of structure, though he had heard this city held a lot of French among other European immigrants. The sense of familiarity was a little comforting.

"I hope your voyage went well? I'm sure it must have been hard travelling on your own." The priest asked. "I admit it was a lot to take in but.. Faolan helped me get accustomed to the way things worked. It was certainly.. different." He responded. The priest had given the larger man another sideways glance. It was likely he was worried about the man's intentions, but Lucien didn't think he had anything to worry about.

"Was.. everything really okay? There were no problems..?" Father Cyril asked in French, causing Lucien to glance back over at him. He knew there was a deeper meaning to his question. He had hesitated for just a small moment, after all he had revealed his healing ability but.. Faolan had never asked any questions, so he figured everything was fine. "Yes, it was fine." He responded but in English, a bit of a habit from the ship. The priest sighed with relief at his response. By then, they had finally gotten a decent distance from the dock.

"Well, my home is further down this street. I'm sure that you are both tired of the food they have on that ship. Faolan was it? You are welcome to join us for dinner, it's the least I can do for the help you provided to Lucien." He said, looking up at the man. At this, Lucien smiled, looking up at Faolan with a bit of anticipation. He was glad that Father Cyril had offered. It gave a reason for Faolan to stick around a while longer.

It seemed Illyanna had taken a clear interest in the card. He didn't particularly mind giving it to her if she wanted to take a look. He hadn't thought there was harm in it. At least, until she touched it. Quickly Lucien had risen to his feet, concern flashing in his expression. Ivory had been at Illyana's side in seconds, hand on her back as she lead her to one of the nearby chairs. Everyone else was as equally worried.

"Illy, are you alright?" Lucien asked as he quickly made his way around the desk. He knew that she had gotten a vision. This was how they usually went so he was fairly used to it, but it never eased his worry, since he knew how they affected her. Aurel had quickly went over and poured her a glass of water, hoping it would help. Lucien refrained from asking what she had seen, wanting to make sure she was okay first.
Lucien attempted to hide his relief at his response. Of course he figured the man would leave but, if he was planning to find work in town then that would mean he'd be sticking around for a little while longer. He couldn't deny he was a little envious of the travelling the man would be doing. Honestly he wasn't even sure what was waiting for him here, aside from the fact there would be a priest here to receive him.

"I see.." He said, his gaze not leaving the sight of the port that was now well within their reach. The boat harshly swayed as the ship finally docked. He could hear the movement and noise of the people who were now beginning to leave their small rooms to finally leave the ship, and Faolan had wasted no time in doing the same. The nephilim quickly followed, his eyes sparkled with excitement as they disembarked. He was setting foot in a completely different land, a completely different place than he was used to. It felt much crowded with everyone getting off all at once then when he had first gotten on that ship. It was only now that it all suddenly felt very real to him. He instinctively grabbed on to Faolan's sleeve, not wanting to get lost in the crowd of people that had wanted to get off just as quickly as they had. It was when the crowd had finally began to disperse a little that he heard his name being called out.

"Lucien!" He turned to the sound of the voice, spotting a middle-aged man rushing up in their direction. He seemed to slow after giving Faolan a glance, but he then turned his attention back on the nephilim.

"You.. are Lucien yes? I am Father Cyril." As he spoke, he shot Faolan another slightly nervous glance. Lucien was quick to speak up. "Ah, yes, I am. Pleased to meet you Father Cyril.. This is my friend Faolan. He.. helped me out a lot back on the ship, I owe him a lot." He told him, not wanting the priest to be too wary of him.

"O-Oh.. I see, well then you have our gratitude for giving Lucien your aid. I'm sure his guardians will be relieved to know he arrived safely."
Ivory remained silent as Lucien explained everything to the rest of them. She didn't like the fact he was keeping a few things back but, it wasn't like she didn't know how. Lucien wanted this all to work out, and she knew that would be unlikely if everyone ended up hating him. Still, she was wary, and she wasn't the only one.

Aurel's expression reflected a little worry. The man had always been wary with strangers, considering he didn't have very good experiences with them. The people at the circus were the first people he had ever felt comfortable being around. The idea of having a stranger among them was scary, but he trusted Lucien. Aurel planned to keep a bit of a distance at first, until he could see for himself that the man could be trusted.

Akane's expression reflected Cora's. She was excited about this new member of theirs. After all, the last member they had found had been Cora, and she had turned out to have become her closest friend. She understood Lucien's worry, but she wanted to give the man a chance. Hopefully they would all be able to become friends. The circus was always a lot more lively with more people.

Lucien glanced at Illyana as she asked about the card he was holding. Honestly he hadn't even realized he had began to fiddle with it. "He did, it was in my pocket when we left his home." He said, seeing no need to hide it. He figured it had simply been a little trick of his, he just seemed like that type of man.

"I found a card in my pocket too. The Ace of Spades, been using it as target practice." Ivory spoke up, a bit of amusement in her tone.
Lucien was curious at Faolan's fluster over his question. It certainly wasn't the type of reaction he had been expecting from the usually stoic man. It had caught him a bit off guard but, he decided not to push for an answer. It wasn't that important he knew, but he really did wish he had told him. It was certainly.. refreshing to see this sort of expression on him.

"Alright then.." He said. It was clear he was reluctant but, he let it go, and let his gaze drift back up to the ceiling. He decided he'd let the man rest. He deserved it, considering the day he had.

The rest of their voyage had been relatively peaceful. As the officer had said, the Englishmen never bothered them again. The seas had been in their favor, and about a week later, the Port of New Orleans had come into sight. He could see it through the small window in their room.

"Look, Faolan! We're finally here!" He said a little excitedly. There had been a part of him that had almost wanted this voyage to last longer but.. he knew it had only been a matter of time. Despite the bit of unpleasantness he had encountered, he had enjoyed the time he had spent in this travel, and he was glad he had met someone like Faolan to keep him company in it. It was a bit sad to think about how they might have to go their separate ways. "So.. what's your plan after landing..? If you don't mind me asking." Would he leave right away? Part of him hoped not. It would be nice if they got to spend a little more time together, after all Faolan was the first friend he had made outside of the church, or at least, he hoped they could be called friends. Lucien certainly saw it that way.
Lucien was just about to decide to go get Illy when she had pushed her way into the trailer. He shook his head slightly, knowing that if she had overslept like this, then she probably hadn't gotten the proper rest she needed. He didn't scold her though, considering everyone else was here.

"It's quite alright." He said, glancing over at her. "Considering you're usually up by dawn, sleeping in every now and then is not bad." He told her before turning his gaze to the others. He figured they were all curious about how yesterday had went.

"Well.. Geralt accepted our offer.." He started, his fingers subconsciously beginning to fiddle with the playing card he had been left with. "I assume he should be coming sometime today, though I am unsure if he will partake in tonight's act or not. It is a little last minute." Honestly he wasn't sure how 'rusty' the man had really gotten, or if he had been serious about it at all. He suppose he'd find out when he got here. It was then he let out a small sigh.

"He's.. an interesting character, I won't deny that, but his magic is real, and I think this will be incredibly beneficial for us. At the moment there aren't that many things about him that concern me, but I would like to advise you all to be careful anyway. He is a very smooth talker, and I feel it could be easy to get pulled in or strung along if one isn't careful. Quite the flirt, that one." He said with a small sigh. "Regardless, I'm sure you all will be able to make your own opinions of him with time. I'll be keeping my eye on him either way" He added. There was a part of them that didn't want them to be too alarmed by him. After all it wouldn't be enjoyable if you joined a circus where no one liked you or everyone was scared of you. Despite his somewhat bad impression, he still hoped the man could genuinely like it here.
Ivory glanced down at Cora, taking note of the unease in her expression. She hadn't thought that stating this was that big of a deal but, maybe it was to Cora. Sometimes it was easy to forget that she was from a completely different place than them. Perhaps she would mention it to the others so at least the mermaid wouldn't be as lonely for extensive periods of time in the morning. She glanced back up as Akane approached them.

"Good morning." She responded.

"I'm glad to see you two got back alright last night! I tried to stay up but I ended up falling asleep." She said a little sheepishly before looking down at Cora. "Are you alright?" She asked, taking note of the bit of strain in her smile.

It was then that Aurel finally caught up to them, and began to join them on their walk to Lucien's trailer. "Good morning everyone.." He greeted.

"Oh you still look quite sleepy, Aurel. I didn't think anyone other than Ivory disliked waking up this early." She commented with a small chuckle.

"I usually don't, but Ginger decided to use me as a pillow last night. It made it a little hard to sleep." He said with a small chuckle. It wasn't like he really minded though. He appreciated that the snakes stayed with him even though they could easily go back out into the wild. They, like the circus, were also a part of his family.

Ivory simply smiled amusingly at the comment, finding no need to decline that. It was true after all. The fact no one would catch her up as early as dawn was a well known fact, unless she had some packing up to do. She much rather preferred getting that over with before the sun came up. When they reached Lucien's trailer, she moved around Cora's chair to pick her up as usual, before they heading inside with her.

Lucien raised an eyebrow as his troupe entered his trailer, surprised that Illyana wasn't with them. He greeted them good morning before tilting his head curiously. "Is Illyanna up?" He asked. About this time the girl was already up and about. Sometimes she was an even earlier riser than he was. Considering it seemed she planned to look into things last night, he really hoped she hadn't ended up pulling an all-nighter.
Lucien's smile widened a little at Faolan's compliment. He was about to lay down, but then he figured he should change out of the bloodied clothes first. Now that all this was over with he figured he probably shouldn't use this one anymore until he had a chance to wash it.

"I think we're even. I mean the only reason you got into this mess in the first place was because of me. I didn't want you getting in trouble with the law because you decided to help me." He responded as he pulled out his bag from under his cot and removed his trench-coat, folding it neatly before putting it away and grabbing a different one to slip on. It was only then that he finally laid down. A moment of silence followed, which he didn't mind. Lucien was in a decent mood now that he could afford to relax. Hopefully the rest of their trip would go unhindered. The nephilim fiddled with the one of the tassels on his relic, feeling at ease to have it back. Since it had been given to him, it had never left his side until today. There was a small sense of comfort he got from wearing it. It was strange really, considering he had never met the man who had entrusted it to him.

Lucien shook his head, before he let his gaze drift over to Faolan. Going on this ship had definitely taught him some things that he would never have learned if he had stayed behind in that church. It had definitely proved to be an interesting experience... but he was glad he had someone like Faolan at his side to teach him. He could only hope that in return, maybe Faolan would be able to become a little bit more optimistic. Sometimes things really could just work out.

"Hey Faolan." He called out. There were some.. insults that he had sort of got the meaning of, but there was one that he was still curious about. It wasn't like he was ever planning to use any of this words, he'd never dream of it. He just at least wanted to know what it was they were calling him. "What's a poufter?"
It was clear Lucien had interrupted something Faolan was doing, but he quickly disregarded it. That wasn't important right now. "That's right." He said almost proudly, before he shut the door behind him and walked over to his cot to take a seat on it again.

"I talked to the officer on the ship and explained what happened—" He paused. "—With um.. a couple changes to the story here and there, to make it more believable. I kind of said the men had already been fighting among themselves for the money when we got there.. You told me the Englishmen would say anything to make us look bad so.. I just kept that in mind so it wouldn't look like it was a one sided fight between you and six men. Instead we kind of just took advantage of the chaos to get my things back and you didn't have to fight as many..." He muttered, his voice slightly more quiet since this was the part he wasn't proud of. He didn't really like lying but, it couldn't be helped in this situation.

"Good news, the Englishmen probably won't bother us anymore, bad news.. you're probably fired.. but your passage is dealt with so you won't get in trouble for that either. I made sure the officer knew that you really helped me out." He explained, hoping he wouldn't get mad about that. Lucien had kind of made that decision without consulting him but.. in the moment doing that was the only thing he could think of to guarantee Faolan wouldn't get into any trouble, both for the fight, and for not being able to work for the payment to this voyage.

"Also, the officer was French, and he didn't seem to like the fact that Englishmen were going around throwing slander so.. that kind of helped. For once I think looking like this has worked out in my favor." He said a little jokingly.
Ivory let out another small yawn just as Cora had flung open the door. It had startled her a little, but she quickly composed herself. "Sorry, I just woke up, and in turn, have also woken everyone else up. Aside from Lucien anyway, I'm sure he's also been up for a while. I'm basically nocturnal you know? It's way too early for me." She complained, before she moved out of the way so Cora could roll down the ramp. It was then she took the handles of her chair.

"You know you can leave your trailer even if no one comes to get you. I'm sure Akane wouldn't mind a morning visit from you." She commented. Considering she seemed to be all ready to go, she didn't see anything wrong with her doing that since they were still closed and there was no one else around. She felt the mermaid should have her own freedom to be able to do things when she felt like it, just so she wouldn't have to rely on other people to stop by to leave.

Aurel and Akane had left their trailers at about the same time. The fox seemed the most energized of the two. Both of them were wearing yukatas, something that Akane had introduced Aurel to after she had joined them. The snake had learned he much preferred this type of Japanese clothing. They were pretty loose and comfortable, and his snakes could wrap around his arms and still be comfortable. He appreciated the introduction, and in turn wore them often. It was one of the few things both he and Akane liked to buy when they were able.

"Good morning everyone!" Akane greeted as she caught up to Cora and Ivory. Aurel lagged a little behind, but he waved in their direction.

Lucien glanced over at his window again as he heard a bit of commotion. It seemed mostly everyone was already on their way. He put away his papers and placed them inside his drawer before he rose to his feet and headed to the door, opening it for them preemptively so they could just come inside, giving them all a small wave before he headed back to his desk and took a seat.
