A blonde child with bright blue eyes appeared from below deck and picked "his" way around the other crew members until "he" located the Captin on the helm. The girl, who was pretending to be a boy quickly scrambled over to the older women and stood peering up at her, the girl tilting her head to the side in a silent question.

Karou walked inside, gazing around with wonder and awe. "Look Mary, it's so huge." She whispered to the doll, holding her up and spinning around, giggling slightly.

Lila peeked open her eyes and glanced up at Jason, gaze hopeful. "Is it..over?" She asked hesitantly.

"Family." Karou said softly as she walked through the gate, gazing around. "We've never had a family before." She said as she looked up at the man.

Lila pressed close to Jason as she squeezed her eyes shut, ears flattening against the very loud explosion.

Karou gazed doubtfully at him for a moment before she glanced down at Mary and tilted her head to the side, as if listening to something. After a few moments she looked back up at the man, eyes unreadable. "Mary said you won't always be able to protect us from the monsters." She hugged the doll closer in comfort as she looked at the ground. "Everyone always leaves us eventually." She said quietly.

Karou looked up at the man, crimsom eyes glowing slightly in the darkness. "There are bad things in the darkness, monsters." She said in a hushed voice, gaze solemn.

"S-Safe?" Karou echoed, unused to hearing that word. She had never known safety before and so she really didn't know what to think; being told that she would finally be safe. She hesitantly reached up and timidly grasped the lady's hand in her own small hand, not liking the dark.

Karou walked alongside the lady and the scary man. Mary was clenched firmly to her chest as the small girl nervously glanced up at the man. She then looked over at the other lady. "M-Mary w-wants to know w-where we a-are going." She said in a whisper, looking down at Mary before looking back up at the lady.
