It hurt to breathe...it hurt a lot...it was very fortunate that he didn't always have to, then. Even so, he didn't have much air left in his lungs to hold on to after that desperate attempt. He would have to breathe sometime. Of course, there wouldn't be any more of that until this sudden coughing fit stopped, which he really hoped it would soon since it only made things worse at the moment. Luckily for him, it seemed that the pain had started to settle slightly into a slightly less intense stinging once he spit out whatever was still choking him. ...well, it was only a little blood; it seemed that he was one of the blessed ones after all. As long as he could eventually swallow, he would probably heal. With that comfort in mind, he lifted his head from staring at the ground to make sure that the others were alive. They seemed to be moving, except for Shea, but she looked alive from here. Akila was checking on her, at least, though he couldn't really grasp what Tanikazi was saying at the moment.

Down the hall, someone's shadow could just be seen retreating down the hall toward the direction of the staircase. A little further up the stairway, a small, startled yelp could be heard, followed by a series of short thumps as something fell partway down the steps. "...ow...something must have happened..."

She would be found eventually, he was sure.

It didn't feel like all that much longer for Lucifer before his shift ended and he left for the back room to clean up. As soon as he had everything together, he left the cafe and started for the library. Honestly, he wanted to go home immediately to look through his notes, but he had to return a few books before he ended up with late fees. He sighed a bit as he made his way further down the street. Something had definitely felt off lately, and he wondered what it was. The various tomes he kept where he lived surely had answers in them somewhere. While he was thinking about feeling off, though, didn't Liz mention something about working at a clinic near here? *I wonder how the rest of her day is going... She did say that there was a particularly nasty bug going around...I wonder if the potion was enough to get her through that...* He shook his head, a bit surprised at how impatient he was over these results. He had tested stuff like this before and been able to stay patient...granted, he had often performed these tests on himself, so it wasn't much like he had to wait and hear from someone else about what happened... *It's a good thing that my hair's not green anymore from that last one, actually. It was getting a bit difficult to hide that.*

"Um...Do any of you play any instruments, maybe?" Ruko eventually spoke up after an awkward pause. "We do have a music room, so that's available for use..." He wasn't really sure if it was the right thing to say, but that was often how he felt when speaking up around anyone he didn't already know. Either way, he hoped that maybe the suggestion might spark a few interests. Their guests would have to do something with their time here, after all.
