Hello! Nice to see you, eh?

I'm Yami, a college student and sometimes decent artist heavily influenced by anime/manga styles. Um...I'm not that interesting, really. I do some cosplay stuff and can get really into anything that interests me enough, but that's about it.

I might be in a bit of a slump right now, actually. I'm looking for something really fascinating to pique my interest once again, help me get back into the swing of things. I'm into crazy fantasy situations, especially.

The observation regarding the titles made the boy chuckle a bit. "I guess not, huh? And it's a little tricky to explain about the doors. There's some kind of ancient magic in them that gives them some kind of slight consciousness so they respond to commands I give...I guess they're sort of alive, in a way." He shrugged. "It certainly makes security a lot easier."

The comment about the portraits caused him to wince a bit and hide his face in his arms. That really was unfortunate, however that happened. He pushed the thought to the back of his mind for the time being when she tried explaining about human faith. "Hmm...does that help, I wonder? It makes me more nervous, somehow...Oh, before you go..." He lifted his head and pointed to the door again, speaking a command to go with the hand motion he used this time. A few markings glowed on the door and traveled to the wall before disappearing. "That should help you avoid being seen while you're doing that. If any of the doors aren't open or close suddenly, leave them alone and get out of the area. Higher ranking demons who have business here can still open them manually without trouble. Hurry back."
"Probably, but I might not be able to get up again later if I don't eat something. It's happened before; it was terrible." He shook his head a bit at the memory, not really wanting to repeat it any time soon. The sides of his mouth quirked up a little at the question, however. "Well, I am the demon king. If you're asking about the doors, though, it's just because they know me. Pretty much all the ones in here do."

Once seated, he placed an arm on the table and let his head rest on it while he watched her looking around. "Wow. Even with nice equipment, that's a lot to expect from one person. There have to be a ton of ways for that to go wrong." He raised a hand to point to a cabinet near the counter. "There's probably some bread or biscuits in there somewhere. I think I left a box of tea on the shelf above it, too. Feel free to help yourself to anything else you find if you want. The icekeep has a few items as well."
Letting his arm fall to the table next to his head, he closed his eyes for a second before another thought occurred to him. "Oh, we'll have to get your sword back. That definitely can't stay there."
Makes for fun interactions, though. :3
Of course, the demon prophecy is probably going to have some really strange origin as well...whether it's more or less on track is probably anyone's guess at this point.
Soreth gave a small smile at the action made to help steady him. "Thank you. It feels like I'm walking around with a fever right now, to be honest. I guess I was really nervous this morning or something." Reaching out toward the kitchen door with his free hand, he flicked his wrist to get it to open, revealing a some of the room inside including a small table and a couple of chairs along with a counter. "Let's see what's available, then."

"By the way, were you really sent here by yourself? That's pretty dangerous. Didn't you have help getting into the kingdom, at least?"
I'm good with it.
No problem. :)
"It kinda depends on the demon, but we do eat a lot of human food, for the most part. Or things similar to it. It kind of depends on what we can grow, catch, or buy, really, since some things can only be gotten in certain regions. Some of us do need things like blood or spiritual energy to survive, though." Standing up slowly, he swayed a bit on his feet and grasped the side of his head. "Ugh... We' re not going far. Just through the door over... not there, there." He waved at the art room door to make it close - and lock properly this time - before he pointed to a second small door at a different part of the room. "This happens a little too often, so there's a small kitchen over there now. It's supposed to make it easier when I can't move much."
@BranchOfSin
It was an indoor pool room, but they got there through a passageway hidden by a bookcase the first time, so I can see where that thought would come from.
I think they exited through the regular pool entrance, so that's an option for getting back, but go with whatever makes sense to you at the moment. You are leading, after all.
Mostly figuring out how to deal with keeping the rest of the demon realm and the human realm from hearing what happened and causing trouble on either side. And then we eventually have to explore exactly how he managed to end up as demon king, since I doubt just lineage would be enough to solidify that position.
