Patriot was in his room getting ready to write more about his and the team's encounter with Shrapnel, when his superhuman senses picked up the screams of Ditto and Booster Gold. He knew that something must be wrong, and that meant that there must be an intruder in the base. Thomas quickly put down his journal and decided to disregard the damage he was going to cause the walls of HQ and flew at incredible speeds, smashing through one wall after another, heading straight for the place where he had heard the screams. As he smashed through the walls with great ease, Patriot hoped that the League wouldn't severely punish him for damaging the team's base. He soon smashed through the wall that lead into the area where Booster Gold, Ditto and Fenrir were, and he quickly assessed the situation.
His eyes caught the sight of Deathstroke, or Slade Wilson as he was called, Thomas had learned about him from his creators at Cadmus and was well aware of how dangerous of a criminal the mercenary could be. He also saw that Booster Gold and Ditto where hurt and were in need of help. First, Patriot would try to deal with Slade, and so the here charged up a blast of energy in his hands. He fired it right at Deathstroke and if it hit then it would create a powerful explosion. He wanted to keep his distance and use his energy attacks since the villain had killed Aquaman who was one of the most powerful League members and Thomas wasn't sure if he was even close to being half as strong as the king of Atlantis.
