Well with Furious, his strength is only theoretically limitless. With all the limits that were built in to his powers (such as receiving less and less strength with each hit), realistically he would be physically overwhelmed long before he could attain say Silver Age Superman strength. But that is a fair point. I'm just trying to find a happy balance between the thoughts of all the players on this issue. But I do see that Yog has been consistently responsible towards not being overpowered with his character. I also don't want this to become bogged down into another heated argument either. This exchange is not meant to reflect anything personal towards you or your roleplaying abilities Yog, nor does it indicate a lack of trust. Some players may have a concern with the power and its potential to be abused, but they do not lack trust in you either. Hot Rod is accepted, and I appreciate everyone's civility in this discussion and your willingness to have measured conversation. Regarding magic characters, none of them have abilities with as much destructive potential as Hot Rod and they all follow the rule that massive power equals massive costs. Now if you really want to have the ability, I'll allow it in light of this discussion but just keep everything that has been said in mind.

thank you for accepting him

why are you making another character? you already have two
now that I edited it there should be no problems because I am starting to feel like it is completely unfair to have problems with my character when you allow magical heroes.
yeah why is it that some of you seem to have no sense of trust in other players?
I edited it now so he can't use the thrust power of a jumbo jet, is he acceptable now?

Blowing wind with 33 tons of force does seem somewhat excessive Yog. If his character wouldn't use that power than the capability can be reduced without anything fundamentally changing.

he wouldn't really use the thrust at that level really because it would send him flying with that amount of power, it would be a last resort, as it has been stated in the power section, he can control its intensity so he would have to make it weaker in order to not be blown away. Again he has only two methods of attack, both of which can be easily countered with villains who are strong and big. I recognize the potential but you guys aren't bringing the situation into the equation, he wouldn't use it at that level unless it was a last resort.
It's not strong enough to knock down a building, also he won't go all out otherwise that could kill a villain. Remember superman holds back because he knows how dangerous his strength can be
@Boboclown89, you really need to stop speed posting and following the rule dude

Well there's that but I was referring to how political groups and activists would probably react haha. There was this whole "Silence of the Lambs" thing that Pariah had when he investigated Abattoir which would make for a pretty gruesome book if I ever actually become a writer. And Yog some issues have been raised to me about Hot Rod's powers. Namely that his range should top out at fighter jet speeds because jumbo jets are prone to knocking vehicles end over end. And bodily sound control and protective field are fine but it's been raised to my attention that sonic booms seem to decrease as speeds increase strangely, so that power can be axed and you can adapt his flying ability to use jet thrusts to knock people back.

I got rid of the sonic boom power, and I made it so Ryker has complete control over the thrust so even if it is the power of a jumbo jet, he can control its intensity and where he shoots it at so it will reduce the collateral damage.

It's not the real world but it reflects political, social, and cultural realities we have in our own for the most part. You could have his wingman's death be the subject of a training accident gone wrong or a mechanical mishap. It could even be an Awakening related incident. And that's a far point about his powers. Everything else stands.

I edited his CS so his best friend died in an accident, and his speed channeling powers can only channel the speed of one vehicle at a time and there is a two second period before he can gain the speed of another vehicle. I also clarified in his weaknesses the dangers of running into things at high speeds.
