Yet the Land of Water is surrounded by the ocean. The vast majority of its territory is water, and due to Kiri being the "largest trading port in the world", one could probably assume there's a fair amount of water, shipyards, so on. And that's not even bringing in the fact that shinobi are powerful enough to turn forests into oceans by Part 2. The point is that you need some source of water to be able to summon a dang whale onto a battlefield, whether it be user created, or natural. I guess a more logical analogy would be if a Penguin could survive next to a volcano. I'm not trying to say "OH MY GOD GET THE HELL OUT OF KIRI!" I'm just kinda...I don't know, bummed about it a little? Okay?Hozuki turn their bodies into water, granted that's a hiden. Gaara's father could screw around with the magnetism in sand (What do you mean ninja in Kumo have had that kekkei genkai? Hush). Amaterasu is the highest form of Fire Release, and only achievable via an Uchiha kekkei genkai. I'm just Saiyan. Flavor, my N-word! Flavor!

I think if you look at all of Naruto you will see that there are exceptions to village trends. I'm not mad, I'm just pointing out flaws in your argument

@ Tatsua,That actually sounds hilarious.Lose every single fight because everyone is a water user. @Yog,Also, the mist village, where the ninja are trained, is on an Island. That's the point he's making, Yog. I'm sure you've noticed in the series the references to aquatic animals and the mist village. Kisame used sharks, not bears. There is a theme revolving around the Mist village. Though, again, I don't think it is a big deal in regards to summoned creatures, the point is water. You most likely wouldn't see a desert tortoise or a scorpion summoned by a Mist ninja. It would be weird. Also, are typically in a respective village and have a respective element related to that village. Uchiha and land of fire. There is a theme in Naruto and the villages.

Then explain Kimmimaru, his clan was part of the mist village and they used bone techniques, bones are not made of any of the elements that make water. I get what you're getting at, but the fact is there are exception to things. Anyway Aki still uses water techniques so he still follows the theme of water

Does this mean I can summon a gigantic whale in the middle of a forest and expect it to survive? It's a relatively minor detail that breaks the immersion for me, 's all.Like making a Tsuchikage who uses nothing but Raiton or a Raikage with nothing but Doton. That kind of stuff.Breaks the environmental tone.

Need I remind you that the land of water and the mist village are not underwater, they're on land as well, your analogy makes no sense. Also Aki uses water techniques just look at his canon jutsus, and I already said in his CS that his clan migrated to the hidden mist village. Bloodline techniques are determined by clans not by villages.

Yet the second Mizukage had a giant clam, Kisame was basically sharks personified, and their bijuu were a giant turtle and a slug. (F'in Cloud Niggas stole our octo-bull.)Pain doesn't really represent the rain village as much as he represented the Buddhist Paths of Reincarnation and the Rinnegan itself.Kishi had to hype up dat divine dojutsu.

Yes but that still doesn't prohibit ninja from summoning animals that are not native to the environment. There are no rules with summoning techniques that say a ninja has to summon animals that are like the ones in the ninja's homeland, just like how there is no universal law that says that a Konoha ninja cannot use any other element than fire.

Animal Path really doesn't represent Amegakure. Besides, the first animal path was a ninja from the Fuma clan, according the link Sloth posted.

Summoning techniques are still not determined by environment
Sloth said
Not the kind of animals you summon. If we had a size code, this is where I'd put in minuscule text: Except for the sharks and sea-creatures.I really don't see any major difference outside of your animal mimicry stuff.

Summoning techniques do not have anything to do with the environment the ninja is in. You simply just learn the proper technique and summon the creature because I am pretty sure the rain village didn't have rhinos and yet the animal path could summon one.

That brings up a question. Why would Aki's clan choose Kiri, of all places? The Land of Water isn't exactly big on land animals. Not to mention his kekkei genkai sounds dangerously similar to the .

I thought about that, I decided that it's mostly political and the village hidden in the mist is on an island and islands still have animals. Also the bloodline technique does sound like animal path, but still has some differences

Sweet! Our group is going to have sooo much fun! We can make snowmen together :D (cause that's what Ren likes doing...)

I would rather go hunting :)

(That's what Aki would prefer to do)

Mayu Namikaze - 14 Male Genin Bubbily and happy-go-lucky. Mayu believes that the world is all flowers and sunshine and that all war could be solved if adults just hugged and started sharing. She is incredibly generous and considerate, always offering everyone her much needed advice and opinion. She can come off as somewhat of a busybody and be a little pushy, but its always because she wants to help someone that needs the help the most! She loves puppies and kittens and rainbows and flowers and loves to talk about things that she loves. She plans to marry a Prince in the future and become a beautiful Queen that would rule over the land with kindness and charity, like in the foreign books she read. She is very sweet. As such, she doesn’t take insults well. She is very sensitive and can take even a joke to heart. She is also persistent too. If someone looked down on her she’d try her hardest to improve herself in that regard. Although she has an irrational fear of dirt and bugs, she is a hard worker. She is also a goody-two-shoes that will rat you out the moment she finds you doing something you shouldn’t...Which in her case is often. She’s probably told on every student in her class at least twice. As such, she doesn’t typically partake in illegal activities and really doesn’t condone violence...Ironically.However, she is gullible. If something is worded right, and not a lie, she will buy it! She honestly doesn’t expect others to do anything harmful to her, ever, even if she doesn’t know them. She has no sense of stranger danger and can be tricked into do just about anything. Due to her flowery personality and inability to associate with others she is usually depicted as an annoyance or an idiot. She is also seen as someone that can be used and abused to no end, like getting your homework done or having someone do your chores for you. Because she really likes to help others. However...There were two times where she through away her love and peace persona and actually violently beat the living daylights out of another student. Both times were surrounding the same situation. The word .Needless to say, there doesn’t need to be any elaboration on just what happened or how close those two students were to dying, but it was a lesson learned. Uzushiogakure It was a sad day when Mayu Namikaze became a ninja. In fact, there were a few of the academy instructors that cried. It wasn’t becuase Mayu was too weak to be a ninja. Oh no. She is actually very strong physically and, although no the smartest, she knows about ninja stuff and she can even access her chakra to a degree higher than many of her classmates. Oh no. What made everyone inwardly groan the day Mayu graduated was...Her personality. The high maintenance, naive, love freak was actually recommended for graduation by some of the higher ups! She graduated with honors, yet she lacked every mental quality of a ninja! She didn’t like fighting! She didn’t like hurting people! And she could never even tell what people were thinking!Still, she was gifted with a remarkable ability. Whether luck, a genetic mutation, or some miracle, she was born a sensor. She could sense the chakra of others when they were a few feet away and, as she grew older, that power expanded and matured as she was. She held a skill that the Shinobi world needed in these precarious of times where another war could be around the corner. The higher ups figured her personality could be fixed later. Her ability was more important. As such she graduated! Now she is on her way for her ninja like...Which she is completely unprepared for despite that she thinks she is. Rolls of Paper Wind None She was born able to naturally use Mind’s Eye of the Kagura, thus an exceptional sensor. She is also suprisingly strong for a girl. She holds a lot of physical strength, borderline inhuman, but she usually keeps it in reserve. W.I.P.Almost complete, but not yet. Though feel free to grade the techniques. Makoto Kirisame Kirigakure’s Red Mist 28 Male Jounin [S] , Makoto is caring, careful and an impossibly patient man. He holds an almost incomparable temperance when dealing with others. He is considerate and he is not judgemental when interacting with others, whether it be an enemy or an ally. He comes off mostly non-chalant and passive. Although not particularly disrespectful, he doesn’t typically offer honorifics or address individuals by their titles. He is comfortable enough to address someone by their first name alone, even if he doesn’t know them very well at all. He isn’t one for tradition or standard and would rather do whatever he believes makes sense. He values life a great deal and will go to great lengths to protect the lives of others. An exception to his passive nature is when dealing with Maki Kirisame, his younger sister. He is stern with her and typically disapproving of her sacrificial tendencies. Although he is still patient with her, he pushes her to try harder and can be blunt in pointing out her mistakes. He can almost come off as cold and uncaring when speaking to her, but he is strict with her because he cares for her more than anyone else. Kirigakure He carries 10 kunai on him at any given time. He also carries 6 ultra thin summoning scrolls that each hold 50 kunai in them. He is able to summon these weapons in a specific quantity, depending on the chakra he spends, or throw the scroll at the opponent and release all 50 at once. He also has a single summoning scroll that has 20 explosive tags that can be attached to his kunai or, like kunai, all detonated at once and released at an opponent. He also has a bag that has specific pills in them. These pills are used for his mysterious cloud technique. He has enough to perform each technique 10 times. Water Cursed Blood Due to his limited chakra capacity he has had to focus on other areas such as chakra control, as to make the most out of his limited supply of chakra, and swordsmanship. He took up the sword himself, however he eventually took on a tutor that trained him in the art of the sword. He’s exceptionally gifted in kenjutsu, making him a remarkable sword arm characteristic of a Kirigakure ninja. He is exceptionally gifted in sealing techniques, however his limited chakra capacity has somewhat narrowed that field for him with his own clan techniques.

Cool, is Makoto going to be Aki, Maki and Ren's mentor?
