Isaak saw the look that Verlin sent back to Acacia and he almost rolled his eyes and shook his head but he didn't want to start something. it wasn't because he was afraid, he was just smart in choosing his battles and also he didn't want to get expelled for breaking too many rules. he wasn't expecting the second year's cat to hop onto his lap, and as it purred he gave it a gentle pet. his family had a cat at home as well as an owl, and their cat was very nice to both them and new people who came to their house. when Ester growled at Acacia and Verlin said that it looked like cats didn't like Acacia, he was on the verge a laughing but he stopped himself.

when she asked them about how their summer break went, Isaak replied saying, "It was pretty good, my parents took me and my siblings to see the Quidditch World Cup between Transylvania and Scotland. it was a great game, I was glad to see Scotland win but I was rooting for Transylvania. you should have seen how fast and aggressive some of the chasers were on both teams. but aside from that, I mostly did a bit of practice flying so I could try out for the Slytherin Quidditch team this year, and also some reading on charming spells."

He was glad to have a family that did fun things over the summer, and from the sound of Acacia answer to the question, it looked like she was one of the students who didn't really have the best family life. this made Isaak think of Harry Potter the famous Auror who attended Hogwarts many years ago, he grew up with a terrible aunt and uncle who were muggles since both of his parents were dead. Isaak was glad to have not that sort of misfortune.

he decided to go get his pet and picked up Ester from his lap and placed the cat beside him. "Excuse me, i going to go get my pet from the storage compartment, I will be back soon."

he got up from his seat and exited the compartment. he walked down the aisle towards the place where students stored to their luggage. he went into the compartment and quickly found the cage that had his ferret. he grabbed the cage and headed back to the compartment with the others, he barely noticed the Hufflepuff Elina, and Willow, but he kept on moving, they were higher years than him so they could probably handle whatever they were doing more than he could. he soon reentered the compartment, and took out his ferret from the cage. he sat back down in his seat and had Perun sit on his lap. "This is my ferret, his name is Perun."

when you guys interact with a character you just met, it would be best to mention the character's name in the narration part of the post because it gets a little confusing figuring out whose talking to who.

Isaak gave a nod in response to Willow's answer, and then at that moment Verlin Mackenzie entered the compartment. He remembered her from last year, they were both second years, and at first glance one would have mistaken her for a muggleborn because of how she moddified her school uniform to her tastes in fashion that were not the traditional wizard and witch attire. but he knew that she was a halfblood and being in the same year as him meant that there could be some advantages getting to know her more since Slytherin already had a possible dark witch in it, and that could be dangerous to them.

"Hello Verlin, my name is Isaak Boyars, we are both second years and I remember you from last year" he said to the girl with a friendly smile. he noticed the cold glare that Acacia gave Verlin, and Isaak hoped that the fourth year wouldn't try to seek any type of violent retribution. he also hoped that Verlin had a good enough memory to remember that Acacia was potentially dangerous and that provoking her as a second year student was not a wise choice of action. when he saw both her and Samantha's cats, he wished that he had taken Perun out of his cage and brought him to the compartment, maybe there was still enough time before the Hogwarts express departed that he could go back to the storage compartment and get his ferret.

Hrm...Well, I think they'd still use things like phones and things if they're living among muggles. Besides, most kids nowadays practically grow up around technology anyways, so I don't think its too far-fetched to say that some wizard children know how to use technology on some level.

i'd expect muggleborns and halfbloods to use technology, but in the books JK Rowling seems to make it look like purebloods are very secluded from the muggleworld and try to have as little contact with it as possible. but as you said many years have gone by so I guess there is the possibility of them becoming more close to muggles, but it still just seems weird reading that in a Harry Potter rp

Isaak knew very well that Acacia's smile probably had a sinister message to it, they were both Slytherins and he knew about who she really was. despite being apart of the same house, Isaak found her manipulative personality unpleasant. he may have somewhat of a mean streak when it came to muggleborns and Hufflepuffs, but when he becomes friends with someone, he will stand by them as a loyal friend. Isaak's youthful arrogance and foolishness wanted to make a snide remark that would question her skills as a proper witch, but even though he was a second year he knew that making insults at a potentially dangerous witch or wizard who was older than you and more advanced in their magical learning, was not a smart thing to do. so he just allowed the subject to changed, and was now pondering how the school year would turn out with someone like Acacia being Slytherin house.

He listened to her say how she liked Defense Against The Dark Arts better than charms, and Isaak almost burst out laughing but he kept himself from doing that. it was quite clear to him that Acacia preferred the actual dark arts over the type of magic that was used to fight against it. he guessed that she only liked the class just because she got to learn more about what type of curses there were.

he looked at Willow, noticing her nervous demeanor and asked, "are you alright? you seem to be as nervous as a first year before the sorting ceremony."

Czarogon noticed Rodan flying behind, and he gave a call to him, "if you get to the other monster before i do then try not to do anything rash otherwise it might kill you"

rushing in and fighting without any forthought was something that most if not all monsters did when it came to fighting monsters stronger than them and it had many time turned out fatal for them. he hoped that the giant pterodactyl headed his words and waited for him to join him in the coming battle.

Isaak said a quick "thanks" and then sat down next to Acacia in the compartment. when he heard Samantha ask about her boyfriend Raymond, Isaak wondered who she was talking about for about a couple of seconds, he then remembered that he was the chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and Isaak's dreams of becoming a member of the Slytherin team came to mind, and he wondered if he would play against Raymond. He was hoping to ether become a chaser or a seeker, he liked flying fast and doing aerial maneuvers. his father said that if he got on the team, he would buy him a fast broomstick. if he was a chaser, he would get a Cleansweep Eleven and if he was a seeker then he would receive a Nimbus 2001. the idea of getting a broomstick as fast as the Nimbus 2001 made him hope more than ever that he would make it onto the Quidditch team.

when he heard Acacia brag about her potions, he chuckled, and said to her, "That is impressive, but remember not very many students hold potions in that high of a regard, charms in my opinion is the best class."

Isaak was a natural at charms, the professor who taught the class said that he was ahead of most of the class and Isaak loved the class most. he thought of the idea of changing how things act and giving them special properties was an amazing thing. he could hardly wait to find out what new spells he would be learning this year, whatever they were, they would at least be more advanced than first year charms.
