So does this mean that we have everyone, finally? Let's get this IC going! I suggest that we figure out any pre-existing relationships between characters. They obviously all know each other from the Academy, but are some friends, rivals, crushes? Speaking of rivals, Yog, I was hoping Ryuto and Aki could be rivals? Either him or a taijutsu user. Also, did we all agree on putting headers at the top of our posts instead of making multiple threads? Or vice versa?

I'm cool with that, what type of rivalry did you have in mind? do you want the friendly type where our characters like each other but they are very competitive or do you want the rivalry where they really don't like each other and try to out do one another constantly?

Can you maybe stop doing that? It's kind of annoying. ^^;

Pretty much by definition.

i would say that there are darker and lighter shades of gray, from what i have seen, gray applies to villains as well as heroes.

on a funnier note lol

Just because you have good intentions doesn't make you a good person. What do they say the road to hell is paved with, after all?

since when did you have to be a good person to be gray?

Not viewing mind controlling the entire world to fit YOUR desires as acceptable is a good start.

i wasn't saying it was good, i said his desires were good in HIS mind. that is grey. Madara was not always a villain, he was a good person during the early parts of his life. if he was a one dimensional villain then he would have been bad from the get go and his only reasons for his plan were to rule the world. I am also going to point out that Pain is a very grey villain, and that you can somewhat sympathize with him. he lost his parents in a war that had nothing to do with his country besides the fact that the Great Nations were using it as a battleground to keep their homes safe, and he shows that the bigger nations needed war to keep their systems working, as he said it was a cycle of war and hatred.

in our world there are people who call themselves Freedom Fighters and kill innocent people because in their mind they are vanquishing evil. the fact is, most people who commit horrible acts believe that what they are doing is right. the concept of right and wrong is a human thing and is all up to interpretation. i'm not saying what the villains were doing was right, i am just pointing out that their intentions were grey. if you want black and white then Hiden and kakuzu were the black and white villains.

i find it funny how we got into a philosophical discussion on a Naruto rp lol

This is about as morally grey as a piece of paper. There isn't much grey in 'I have gone crazy because of grief, thus I am going to effectively become God to make things how I want'. It's megalomania. Not grey. Not grey at all.

how exactly is it not grey? he wanted to bring peace, yeah it was peace through power but his intentions were the right way in his mind. as i said, everyone believes that their way is the right way and will many times demonize those who believe otherwise. what is grey in your opinion?

Lol but it doesn't change the fact that it ain't handled properly, this ain't DBZ and it is change but yeah I agree and everything has flaws.The Naruto and Sakura's Sasuke obsession ain't realistic and it is borderline psychotic level in real life.

lol. I actually really liked Shippuden, I thought it was very nice to see an anime that didn't have black and white characters because that can be a trend in many shonen series. what i liked most about shippuden was that the battles weren't really between good and evil, it was more like conflicts between ideologies. this makes it relevant to our world because we are very combative when it comes to what we think is the right way. so i applaud Kishimoto for having such gray villains and giving them very interesting layers to their character. my one complaint with Shippuden was how a lot of the villains were one hit wonders and that the fights became a little too technical.
Masaki Haruna said
Yeah, Kishimoto said that but if you look at his manga Mario, he is pretty good at handling girls, it is Seinen.Kishimoto also didn't have a honey moon lol

in my opinion, Naruto may be boy centric but his female characters were at least pretty well characterized. I mean compared to DBZ, they at least could do stuff like fight the bad guys. it is Kishimoto's story not ours so he as the creator has the right to write it in whatever way he feels it should go.
